Palissandre Côte Ouest Hôtel Palissandre MORONDAVA

Nice place to rest in the busy town of Morondava before flying out to the capital and after the long haul down from Kirindi. Rooms well appointed, decent internet in the hotel lobby and bar area, plus local mobile phone service pretty good. Food great, staff all very helpful and polite. Aircon in the rooms which made a difference after two weeks of no aircon elsewhere.

This was our last stop in Morondava, and I have to say it was the best hotel compared to the others we stayed at. There was live music, a souvenir shop (overpriced but with good options), and it was right by the beach. The room was clean and had air conditioning. The food was also good.

Wonderful and very luxurious Beach Hotel in Morondava. The cabanas are beautifully furnished, impeccably clean and situated around 2 pools. The beach front is just ahead and there are plenty of nice restaurants and bars to visit while taking a leisure stroll along the beachfront. The hotel‘s restaurant is very nice and the service very friendly.

Beautiful resort on the beach! This resort is 20 minutes to the Avenue of the Baobabs although the roads are rough! Central lodge with dining area and bungalows around the beach area. Two beautiful pools, well maintained, clean! Beach is a bit of distance especially at low tide but even at high tide a bit of a walk and then very shallow due to a sandbar forming a large shallow pool. Rooms are large, air-conditioning does well although you need to shut all the louvered windows. Good mosquito netting on bed although we didn't really encounter much issue anywhere during our stay. Beds very comfortable. Bathroom good, flooring open narrow slats so don't drop anything small! Water volume and pressure good, hot water good but takes a few minutes to get warm. Bring your own soap and shampoo although some provided. Dining is good, good variety, limited English by staff. Bar very popular. Internet was good but we were the first bungalow to picked up good connectivity although others have complained in the more distant rooms. Cell service also available. Credit cards accepted for larger amounts. Gift shop not good pricing. Resort is jump off site for Kirindy Reserve and Marofandilia Reserve. I would combine these visits since the roads there are terrible and can easily be combined in one day and are really located @15 minutes apart but about 2 hours from Pallissandra resort. Town area by lodge large, shopping is abundant but need to barging for prices. Local cash needed for purchases.

Best place in Morondava. Nice bungalows, good food. Beautiful pools. Surprisingly scarce and poor breakfast. We generally liked it and when after the first night our flight to Tana was canceled, we returned to Palissandre again.

I stayed at Palissandre cote d’Ouest for 2 nights as a base to visit the Avenue of Baobap and Kirindy forest.
During planning stage reading reviews of this hotel I was a little worried about the place as I read about mosquitoes, complaints about food, cash only destination. I was worried because I could not find another hotel better to stay.
When I got there, the place blew my mind away. In that remote Morondava, Palissandre cote d’Ouest is a « luxury » in its own way with 2 swimming pools, cabins with teak wood flooring with large bathroom with A/C. It has a nice gift store with high end products, a bar and 2 separate places to serve meals : one for lunch and breakfast, and one area for dinner.
Entering the hotel is like entering an oasis. It is in front of the ocean. The beach was very nice. There is a place that the water was shallow due to a large sand bank. The beach in front of the hotel is a little away from other places thus there is privacy.
The staffs are so helpful and friendly. The hotel takes credit card. Mosquitoes were insignificant or almost nil.
I would come back in a heart beat to Pallisandre cote d’Ouest for a leisure stay by the sea.

We stayed in the beginning of october here 2 times 1 night and we loved it both times.
The resort is beautiful and had 2 small swimming pools with a great restaurant adjacent to it. Staff is great and helpful.
We stayed in 2 different rooms and we had to reach both of them by walking quite a distance over loose sand. My girlfriend didn't like that to much but that's a personal opninion.
The second room was close to the see and the first one was a little further from the see. Both rooms were great, with a large and beautiful bathroom. The staff closes the mosquito net when you have dinner. This is great but then they should do this perfectly and also check the mosquito net. The first day we'd 4 mosquitoes in our net (we saw it directly when we came back from dinner). So what's the use of closing a mosquito net if you close it with 4 mosquitoes inside, please check this and check if the mosquito nets are still okay, because mosquito nets with openings in it has no effect.
The second time everything was okay.
Breakfast is okay with enough to choose from only we'd both times that some things (i. G. Pancake) were already cold although we're one of the first at breakfast. Dinner is great, you have a set menu but we loved it both times.
If my girlfriend didn't have to walk the long distance through the loose sand and breakfast was warmer we would have given the resort probably 5 stars.

A must place to stay in Morondava.

You can also meet Gecko and Snake for extra Gift in your Room. Consider it as Safari Lodge, we have destroyed their Home / Habitat. The Animals has no place anymore. Poor animals 😭
The Foods are delicious.

We didn’t stay here but after a cock-up by our driver and breakfast at our hotel we came for breakfast. They kindly let us pay for their buffet which was delicious and the staff were lovely. If the hotel is anything like the welcome and meal, then this is the place to stay.

Really great hotel. Rooms were lovely. Food was excellent in the evening. Staff were all really attentive and friendly — the General Manager was noticeable, walking around checking all was ok. Would highly recommend this hotel if staying in the area.

This definitively should not be a 3-star hotel. At least 4. A beautiful hotel, in the best location of Morondava. 2 nice swimming pools and the suite we had was impeccable. Beautifully decorated with a spacious living room and a walking closet, with an outdoor jacuzzi and 2 bathrooms. We could not ask for more. The open air restaurant faces the ocean and the pools. Breakfast was OK, nothing special. The boutique of the hotel was just too overpriced. Otherwise, it is a beautiful place to stay when you are at this corner of Madagascar to see the Baobab Trees.

There’s simply no better accommodation in Morondava. The fine dining experience is a daily highlight, offering a diverse and sophisticated menu, with the duck rump being an absolute standout.
The property features a spacious pool, sandy grounds, and easy access to local villages, allowing you to explore Morondava in a vibrant and varied way.
However, I regret to share that I lost $100 in my room during my six-night stay. Despite securely tucking the bills deep in my bag, it seems I let my guard down. For those planning an extended stay, I highly recommend using the safe.
Even with this unfortunate incident, I remain highly satisfied with my experience.

Great hotel, wonderful food, friendly service.
Attention, certain bungalows in towards the end (e. G. 18 and 19) are extremely noisy, due to machines on the other side of the fence.

A good spa type hotel in a great location right on the beach.
The rooms are all a good size, they are all separate bungalows.
They are well appointed with a/c and balconies.
Be aware that you have to walk to the rooms over soft sand and this can be quite a problem for some people.
The village is interesting with some very good restaurants. However they have a lot of power cuts, when this happens a very large and noisy generator cuts in till 2.00 in the morning. This can be heard in every room.
The food was good and the service friendly.
This is a busy hotel on all the guides lists so the service is efficient but not friendly.
This is probably one of the best hotels in the area.

Such a beautiful hotel! Morondava is a very lively and fun city, highly recommend staying a couple days. If we had to do it over again, we would spend at least 2 full days here. This hotel is right on the beach, with private bungalow rooms facing the ocean. The hotel property is pristine and gorgeous. Delicious food. Extremely relaxing and serene location. Very close to Avenue of the baobabs.

Palissandre is a beautiful hotel with great amenities and perfect location for both a relaxing few days and to visit the Alée of Baobabs of Morondava.
Staff is particular friendly, smiling and helpful. Special shout out to Hony at the reception for also sorting out our flights issues. Definitely recommend this hotel.
