Carlton Madagascar is an excellent hotel, the staff service is very well trained and take pride in their work.
The dinner I had was superb. Great Chefs. Then retired to a very clean room with all amenities. Topped off with a wonderful bed.

I always come to the Carlton, you see the same welcoming faces. The people remember you by name. From front desk to the waiters, they make you feel very welcomed. Today I had fruit salad and seek tion of petit fours at arrival in my room. This place is just so amazing!

The Oasis is the ideal setting for a lunch outside in the shade in a setting worthy of a seaside hotel. However, expect to wait before being served ️

Grand Hotel de Tana. Friendly staff Room and common areas a bit dated but given the offer of the city, we are very well! Breakfast A lot of power cuts to be expected as well as across the country.
Decorate your stay with a meal why not, Serge le Lyonnais will serve you good humour and good food with very competitive rates.

I think u dont have chose other than Carlton, room service sucks, rooms are ok, dont expect too much. But still the best in Madagaskar!

Rooms smell bad. Staff tries to help you but furnitures old. Gym is nice. Breakfast so so. Try pitza besides swimming pool.

Although the furniture and the decoration is a bit old, the hotel in general is very clean and quiet. Located, just at the heart of the Lower city. The breakfast is however kind of poor and it can be improved. Free Wi-Fi is working without problem. I didn't use the pool but it looks clean and well maintained as well.

Good location and lobby recently refurbished. But the rooms could be improved. And please, stop making guest pre-pay for the rooms and meals! There is a way of blocking an amount on the credit cards rather than actually debiting the card!

Very expensive but I imagine it is the counter weight of the 5 star service. On the other hand when you are Malagasy and you do not dress "as it should" for such a luxury hotel, we stare at you, we look you up and down as if you had nothing to do there and we stop you every time with "Can I help you? I went to the café near the front desk. Nice hotel setting, professional staff. The pastries were of good quality, but it is possible to find better on Antananarivo.

I have stayed at nice hotels in many (many) places around the world, including many major US cities, Italy, Germany, Paris, London, Ireland, and numerous hotels in many parts of Madagascar. The Carlton is the nicest hotel in Antananarivo. Why only 3 stars then? 1. It advertises itself to be a "5-Star Hotel" to "Carlton" standards. Sorry, but I've stayed in nice Carlton hotels, and this one is not 5 stars … this one is not 4 stars, but it is close — somewhere between 3.5-4.0 stars, which, in Tana, is the best you can find. The Colbert claims to be 4 stars (5 depending on who you ask there), but it is 2.0-3.0 stars max. Bottom line, I really dislike when hotels 'sell' themselves as better than they really are — it's false advertising and not appreciated by travelers who get somewhere and are then disappointed. 2. The restaurant is sub-par. I have eaten at the restaurant for numerous meals, over many years (I travel here annually for work). The restaurant has always been a last-resort choice of mine. The food is prepared well, but the menu is small and quite lacking — there are not many 'normal' food choices that would appeal to the masses. They have an English menu, but food choices are odd and unique. Poor selection. The breakfast buffet has a decent selection, but at 39, 000 Ariary, it's just not worth the price. To emphasize my point, this year, I brought some food with me (canned soup/pasta, instant oatmeal, etc.

Charming staff. Restoration correct. Cleanliness of rooms OK when they don't forget to make the room. The deco of the rooms is pure 80s. He must love.

My parents were there last summer in mid June. They were sooo excited to stay there! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to come because of exams I had to take (it was the end of junior year at PFUR). So, I was sad about it. My parents sent a lot of pictures to me and I loved the place! Hope to come there soon!

Really to advise against! Very far from the advertised luxury, our very old suite, staff not at all responsive, very noisy… back and forth constantly with weddings held in the hotel.
In the sequel, impossible to have a bottle opener (the answer is to open with the shower door, hellish wind from a chassis (three calls to the front desk, we promise to come but no one ever came). )
A small 2-star for undemanding people… but when even at more than 300 euros the night.
They spent a few days at the Colbert also end July, excellent value in comparison.

Stay away from Casino inside of Carlton Hotel! They not just cheating on costumers by setting up illegal limits on bits — they can easily beat you up in the face, offend your women or friends and be unpunished! None of country in the world, I have not seen such rudeness and mayhem from the casino manager. How come the government let happened such an open form of racism by foreign nationals in relation to their own citizens! It's just a shame.

A true and real story at the casino of the hotel 5 stars Carlton Anosy! A french Manager belittled a malagasy client who has pour his drink accidentally on the gaming table and the Manager said "I'm not surprised, you're all wild the Malagasy" and the client said "I'm sorry! "I did not express". And the Manager answered"son of a bitch! Pick it up! "I am a customer of the casino and ke come here to play, I think you cool to do that! d noroasinle Manager ny customer! They began to fight. And he had an another vazah to protect the girl by saying "you're rude Mr. Have cannot belittle the customers and the Malagasy people like that, your customers here are all gasy, she's right, she doesn't have to clean it, you must have maid also I believe! " And the Manager fired all of its customers who was against him and he gave a point has the other vazah! Security officers also were trying to get their hands on the vazah! and the vazah was injured. The story will be in court! I think that Carlton has its camera monitoring to prove that they can't defend! It's ridiculous for Carlton it's shame! She bad reputation. I break more my feet at home.
