Great spot if you're here for a visa run. Near to the consulate, near to the bus station. I will most probably come back when I need another visa.

Clean room, excellent service. Would have liked a table in the room to work on.

Really comfortable, really clean, hot water (extremely hot) flat screen TV. Manager very helpful, very polite. Did help a lot and answered all questions. Real American breakfast of many choices + lunch and dinner foreigners and local food. Wi-Fi works really good. (the person before who made a comment about it that it didn't work. They had a problem with the router, it was changed last week right after his visit. Air conditioning is almost new if you are in the new hotel. (so it doesn't make noise) The older hotel as some French colony /indian style. (they have 2 building) Cross the street from the buses station. 2 minutes walk. I was on the fifth floor so I got a huge terrace with the city view. Aura residence is also the same building. Far from Royal Thai embassy. 30 minutes walk in this heat. Beware of tuk tuk… seriously! While you're here, if you need a message, when you exit the hotel, on your right walk all the way to the traffic lights. Cross the street 10 meters on your right she is the best message hands down from all over Asia. 50, 000kip 1 hr… I took 2 hrs. If you need to do laundry, I had difficulty to find a place. At the same traffic lights walking from the hotel turn right and walk all the way down pass the temple. On you right, you should see a wood panel fence. I didn't see any sign but just say Sawadee and she will come to you. Clothing smell really good and she press. 2000kip per pieces. Been here 2 days and so far I didn't see anything to do.

Nice staff allowed and us to check-in early. Room was clean and air-con cold. Breakfast could be improved but overall decent value for money.

One of the better places to stay in Savannakhet. Nice rooms, friendly staff, good cafe right next to it. I prefer building B (the old house) for it's high ceilings and fewer rooms.

Went to Laos to renew my VISA this May 2018 and booked a room here at Avalon Residence in Savannakhet. Personally I think this "hotel" actually deserves a 4.5 for the entire experience. The room was very clean as was the toilet and shower. There was a nice size balcony that looked out to the west. We were on the fifth floor and thank god they had an elevator lift. We ate at the small cafe' and the food was prepared quickly and quit good. The cafe' had a good selection of food and coffee. The staff was very accommodating. I will be back next year. I would recommend Avalon to anyone who is headed for Savannaket.

I enjoyed my stay in the hotel. Big clean room and bathroom, comfortable beds, nice and helpful stuff. For the price very good value!

Clean, a little expensive for Lao and for what you are getting. But they are real friendly. Downside is the bar across the street. Really loud and makes it difficult to sleep. Didn't need a reservation and can pay in cash (Thai or Lao).

Spacious room, clean, reasonable rate, helpful staff who mostly can speak English well enough to communicate. Literally two minutes from the bus station.

Stayed in the old house beside the main new building of Avalon. The house has great history and is very French. High ceiling, solid thick walls etc. Lovely place to stay and very homely downstairs.

Typical Thai bus station, simple food/snack options, seating, toilets, more food choices in the surrounding stalls.

Spent two nights here while my Thai visa was processed. Nice room, nice bathroom, nice people running it. My room was on the 5th floor and had a big patio even. I visited the restaurant twice, and enjoyed the smoothie and chicken sandwich. I was able to lock my bike up to a nice pole behind the hotel. I know this is Laos, an impoverished third world country, but it seems if they can get the Wi-Fi to work 95% of the time, getting to 100% should be pretty simple. And for a city that most people come to to get a Thai visa, maybe get a movie channel.

Stayed here for 2 nights and really loved it. The location of this hotel is good and the reception was so helpful to explain everything we needed. The hotel and rooms look like new and the Wi-Fi conection is very good. I will come back again!
