Most travelers rent a motorbike or car in Pakse to explore the surrounding countryside, so an enclosed courtyard with overnight security is much safer than leaving your ride on the street. Parking spots at small guesthouses fill up fast in the evening when everyone returns from day trips, so keep that in mind. Check recent guest reviews about parking safety and yard space.
I had an amazing stay at You Empire Hostel & Bar in Pakse! The staff are super friendly and go above and beyond with helpful tips on local spots and tour bookings – they really make you feel welcome.
If it weren’t for a friend’s recommendation, I probably wouldn’t have come here. The staff are friendly and easy to talk to, like hanging out with friends.
The hostel is situated in the centre near a small market that operates morning and night. We walked in all directions from the hostel and nothing was more than a 15 minute walk away.
We loved our stay in heaven guest house and this was a special experience. Tina is the best host and makes you feel so welcome.
You don't have to be a vegan to stay here. Tina is wonderful, the best host I've ever had in a guest house. Many backpackers and that gives the place a wonderful bohemian vibe.
Tina is a sweetheart. So genuine and loves to talk and know about you. She cares w a kind heart. Her place is well loved and it shows. Clean sleeping space and all the amenities.
After the boloven loop, we stayed here for one night, it was so clean. Great rooms and even the shared toilets and bathrooms were really clean. I really recommend to stay here!
Great place! Bed comfortable, showers good (plenty of them) and adjoined restaurant serving good food!
Clean hostel area & room, spacious bunk bed with thick blanket & comfortable pillow, and such a great breakfast deal (excl matcha latte). The AC works perfectly.
Stayed here for one night. We had a brilliant stay. Location is great, we booked the private room, room was really big size, clean and had A/C and a fan.
Our friends stayed here but we had breakfast with them. The best breakfast so far, amazing fresh baguettes with eggs. The coffee was outstanding. I guess French know how to make a good cup of coffee.
Truly our best stay in Laos! The staff were very kind, and the owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. You can go to him with any questions about the loop or your bus to the next destination.
We stayed three nights at the guesthouse and enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable, AC worked great, hot shower, and the overall place is quiet and clean.
We stayed for a night on our cycle tour.
Pierre the host is welcoming and friendly. He also speaks impeccable English which is good as we don’t speak French!
Room was very clean and quiet.
A two-floor hostel with total of 8 beds in two rooms, quite and cozy, nice decorative with lots of bamboo-made furniture.
Highly recommended! I stayed 3 nights in there and I really liked it. It's basically a small 2 floor house and they have maximum 8 person capacity. 2 room/4 person. It's not noisy.
I accidentally discovered this wonderful hostel in Pakse! Quiet, clean, and central. The owner is a wonderful person and runs everything himself. There are just 8 beds and everything is new.

It's new-ish. Rooms and bathroom clean enough. Shower was wonderful, good flow, good pressure, good heat. 😄
Has kettle. And fridge! But fridge not working. The sink is not good for doing washing.
Do not be intimated by the "luxury look" of the entrance.
We didn't stay in the hotel but did go to the roof top bar. Staff are all young inside the restaurant and very friendly and welcoming.
I did not stay at the hotel, I dined in the restaurant! Roof Top! Hospitality is top notch, drinks were never empty, it was almost like each table had their own personal server.
