Beautiful view of the menengai crater. Peaceful calm and serene! Food is good. Service and staff are very friendly. They are open to your request and make dietary changes. Beautiful place to relax.

No need to talk about the view or the location or even the camp in itself it is so UNIQUE it is unfair! The food is great and the service exceptional. Milka was responding to our every needs with charm and efficiency. We will come back to Mailis Camp.

The Mali Saba Camp was a huge "tent" with a full bathroom. Our tent had a queen bed and a side room with three twin beds. Super spacious. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Dinner (and wine) was excellent. Amazing views.

Maili Saba Camp is located on the rim of the Menengai shield volcano, which has Africa's second-largest caldera at 12 kilometers in diameter. From Maili Saba Camp, visitors have an incredible view of the crater. At the camp, guests stay in tented houses (bandas) with makuti roofs. There are bandas with double beds, but there are also ones for the whole family (double bed and three single beds). Each banda has a shower, toilet, and bedroom, and are very spacious. From the veranda, you have a fantastic view of the crater in the morning. The bandas can be booked with full board, half board, or just breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The camp gate is very beautiful, with a variety of birds that greet guests with their song in the morning.

Amazing camp! Perched on the edge of the Menengai Crater, it offers a true sense of remoteness with breathtaking views over the caldera—yet Nakuru town and the national park are just a short drive away. The small, welcoming team goes above and beyond: a fire is lit in the common area each evening, a bonfire glows outside under the stars, and hearty, comforting meals are served with warmth. Thoughtful touches like hot water bottles tucked into your bed make for a peaceful, cozy night surrounded by nature. A beautiful blend of wilderness and comfort.

Maili Saba Camp is a peaceful, well-run retreat with incredible views over the Menengai Crater. The tents are spacious and comfortable, with hot showers and private verandas that make it easy to relax and take in the scenery. The staff were warm and attentive throughout our stay, and the food was consistently excellent. We especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere and personal touches. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful, off-the-beaten-path location.

I spent an overnight stay at Maili Saba Lodge in Nakuru, and I absolutely loved it. The lodge is beautifully perched right on the edge of the Menengai Crater, offering breathtaking views that you honestly have to see to believe. Waking up to the sight of the vast crater and the peaceful sounds of nature was the perfect escape from the usual hustle.
The atmosphere is serene and relaxing, with a unique blend of rustic charm and comfort. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the food was fresh, delicious, and served with care. Whether you're just passing through Nakuru or looking for a peaceful retreat with a view, I highly recommend Maili Saba. It's a hidden gem that truly leaves a lasting impression.

AWFUL SERVICE, MEDIOCRE FOOD, OVERPRICED!
I have stayed here several times and eaten here many times over the last 10years, rooms are pleasant with great views but very overpriced, so now I tend to come just to eat. However this visit was memorable for all the wrong reasons.
The whole experience shows how bad management allows everything to slip.
The lady who greeted us didn’t ask whether we were there to check in or whether we wanted food or to swim. So we continued into the restaurant which was completely empty of diners and guests but I counted at least 4 staff.
We took some seats outside and waited to be served, after about 5 mins I went back to try to find a server. The lady at reception appeared and said “ oh I thought you were swimming”! I asked for a menu — there was no menu!
They could offer beef or chicken, she did not know how these were to be cooked and was confused about the accompaniment, so I asked to see the chef. The chef was much more helpful and we ordered the beef (fillet steak) rare and the other medium, both with veg and chips. Drinks were another issue as no sweet wine (this is Kenya and most people take sweet), plenty of dry wine though. Fillet steak (the tenderest cut) was beaten to death to “tenderise” and was very thin, it was then overcooked and extremely salty. Pepper sauce not made with any cream (despite chefs assurance it would be). Very disappointing as it was 1500/-!

Absolutely incredible stay at Maili Saba Camp. Lilian and Milka were lovely hosts and we can't thank them enough! We were greeted at the door with freshly squeezed mango juice, our rooms looked out at the most breathtaking hillside views, and the meals provided were delicious. Not only that, Milka brought hot water bottles to our beds to help us keep warm at night, and also sprayed our rooms with mosquito repellent. I was told that the camp actually helps to generate funds for a local foundation which provides schooling and training for disadvantaged youth. If you go, please tip them well, they truly deserve so much love! Thank you for the incredible stay, and we hope to visit again!

Awesome views, good food, comfy beds. Bandas felt like camping with all the comforts of home. If the nights are even a little cool, don’t pass on the hot water bottle for your bed. Warm feet = good sleep. We had just a one night stay en route to Lake Nakuru. Exceeded expectations.

A real hidden gem, Lillian, Yvonne and all of the other staff were so friendly, funny and overall good craic. They looked after us very well. The views are gorgeous from the bandas. We took a guided hike with lucy who was refreshing company and had great chat. Great place to stay for an overnighter travelling through.

Wonderful place to stay. The rooms were clean and had a lot of space, the beds very comfortable. The views up here are simply mind blowing, pictures falling short of the actual view. The Bar / Lounge/ Restaurant is really outstanding, breakfast, lunch and dinner are master class. Last point is the staff here, they are fabulous people, always there to help you with whatever you want or need, also helping with stuff that’s not even in their job description. Highly recommend staying here or at least grabbing some dinner when in the area!
