When I showed up at check in at 15:30, there was no staff and I had to call but they promptly showed up. The room was depressing since the veranda was closed off by sliding doors, blocking natural light. The view outside is only good if you open up the windows. The onsen bath is hard to relax in. The water source is loud and splashes water up to 1.5 meters away and creates constant waves. There is free unlimited coffee and soft drinks available which is extremely nice. I had tried to order dinner ahead of time through a travel agent but was unable to do so. The closest restaurants are a 20 minute walk away. The breakfast was a traditional Japanese breakfast with locally sourced ingredients. Most of the food items had the name in English as well.
The theming in the common areas pays tribute to Sanada Yukimura. The staff were extremely nice.
