Universal Haneda

No frills, clean place in a neighborhood very near Family Mart and 7Eleven. No daily cleaning, big shower room, awkward doors everywhere in the big apartment style room, sliding door with windows do not provide privacy between bedroom and livingroom area, kitchen lightly stocked but no coffee maker, lots of storage, very quiet, and comfortable beds if you pile all the comforters. I would stay here again.

One of the most spacious places we have stayed — basic decor but super clean and had everything we could ask for. Good location for the Tokyo Flea Market and as a base for a few days exploring Tokyo. Family Mart and 711 moments away. Great laundry facilities and kitchenette.

Very good hotel, short walk from the nearest train station. Convenience store located near by. Staff helped us to check in after our flight arrived in the middle of the night. Definitely book this hotel! Also had a glimpse of MT Fuji from the balcony.

Staff was very courteous and allowed us to check in 4 hours early. Our room was big enough for a party of 5 adults and provided a lot of amenities for the limited space. Location is quiet but the Otori station is about a 15 minute walk away. I highly recommend this as a budget option, particularly for larger parties to avoid booking multiple hotel rooms.

So far away from anything in Tokyo, keep away if you have large luggage and kids. If location isn't an issue, it's a good place. Btw checkout is 10 am, and checkin 3pm!

Very nice stay with a spacious room. It was like a small flat with a stove, fridge, and it was also possible to get cutlery for free. It was also very clean —, absolutely enjoyed our stay and exceeded our expectations.

A bit far away from the station. Around 10-15mins walk from train, and 30mins from JR.
There are one or two cvs and supermarket on the way.

Wonderful hotel. Man at reception was very nice and walked us through everything at check in. The rooms are very nice. Traditional Japanese style housing. Traditional Japanese bathrooms, a small kitchenette, a big fridge, and a balcony. The TV randomly turns itself on at times which was weird, but not a big deal. Rooms are clean, and if you need extra items such as toilet paper, you just go ask at the front desk as there is no housekeeping. You have to take your own garbage out but there is a garbage room inside the hotel so you don’t need to go outside. The location is good. There is a Family Mart and a 7-11 super close by. There is a bus stop around the corner, and the nearest train station is a 15 min walk (Otori station and Keikyu Kamata).

Excellent accommodation, clean, modern, great facilities including the kitchenette, Great water pressure in the shower, I love a seperate toilet & bathroom. Staff are so polite, friendly & helpful. They encourage recycling & sustainability process for garbage, that’s a plus. Universal Haneda did not disappoint, I’m a high maintenance Kiwi!

We rented 2 rooms on the same floor which was cool. Lift opened to a small lobby so we turned the latch on fire exit for security. Left both doors open as the kitchenette and shower were in 1 room. Each room had its own toilet. Good location as in 5 mins from the train station. Lawsons and a few shrines less than 5 mins away. Would recommend it.

Room was clean and comfortable but it's so far away from the city center or the main attractions. 1 hour to shibuya. 15 minutes to the train station that's really far away. You can definitely find a better accommodation.

The room I got with a friend fit us both really well. It was also a relatively spacious room, comparatively to accomodations across Tokyo. The staff was great. Our flight got delayed which meant we would've missed our check-in time for the night. The staff stayed back to help us settle in. The hotel is a bit far from the nearest station, about a 10 minute walk. It is also a bit far away from Central Tokyo, but we didn't mind the commute. We only stayed in our room to sleep and shower. Overall, would recommend this spot to those who are willing to travel, out for most of the day, and looking for a more spacious & comfortable room.

On our way back from a longer holiday in northern Japan, we spent the final three days in Tokyo. As we had an early morning flight on the final day, we wanted to stay fairly close to Haneda airport. After doing some internet research, we settled for Universal Haneda in Ota-ku, a rather traditional residential area not too far from the airport. This turned out to be the right choice.
It’s a small apartment hotel, rather basic but comfortable. Our room (407) was clean and cozy with comfortable beds for a family of three. It also had great light from outside. The bathroom had a tiny bathtub into which I barely fit. All is basically self-service (including the small laundry room, which we made use of after a trip of some three weeks) but the gentleman in the reception was very helpful indeed. He also spoke fluent English (which in our case was not necessary because my wife is Japanese).
The only downside was that it was quite complicated to get to the hotel from Tokyo Station. We ended up taking three different subways and then had another 15-20 minute walk. I doubt I had managed it by myself. But the area itself is very nice with plenty of shops and restaurants. And it was very easy to get to the airport on a regular city bus.

Cheap, but for a reason (quite far from central location).
Clean / cozy enough.
There's a convenience store right across the street.
Seems quiet, but we got the top floor, so no idea about the lower floor. That is whether you could hear sound from above.
Either way, definitely a good place to stay if you want to save some money, but sacrifice time to travel to Tokyo (about 1+ hour to get there, so you're gonna need to allocate about 2 hours to go there and back).
### What I didn't like.
Some of the walls inside have some spots. Quite dirty. But it's cheap, so, you get what you pay for.
There's this fan that's actually letting outside air in. During winter time, it might be cold. But you have an AC in the room, so not a big deal. Noise from outside might be a concern.
