The snow, the skiing, scenery, the people, the food (the coffee), the atmosphere — all great. Coming back for my third visit in February.

Great snow and the Onsen is the best way to recover from a day of skiing or boarding.

Fantastic ski area! Lots of variety and long runs! Great snow! Fabulous old style onsens, and they are free! Lovely local food! Great atmosphere in the village!

A little reluctant to write this review. Nozawa onsen is a secret I would love to keep to myself but our group of 5 families had an amazing time with the nozawa holidays group when we booked out Central for a week. Can't say enough about Mark and the team… Helping organise everything thing from food, gears lessons etc. All the icing on the cake of Nozawa-Onsen itself.

This place is amazing! Nozawa Holidays made it all so so easy, accommodation, passes, directions for everything and there were 15 of us to organise! The town and the mountain has everything to keep families happy, our 5 and 7 years old want to come back already, they had the best time. We will definitely be back again. I've done a few trips to Japan now, all different and all amazing but I can not recommend this place enough for a family ski trip. Thanks so much to all the crew at NH.

Amazing Ryokan, the owner is super nice and went out of her way to help me with everything as I was new to the town. For example getting discounts for ski pass and gear. The room was large, with tatami mats and lots of bedding, could easily sleep 4 people rather than just me. The place is very clean, and they have a warm room across the road for skiing gear. There's several great restaurants near by, and a good onsen across the road (remember to take off your shoes before you go in! ). The breakfast is amazing and differs by day. They also serve dinner, which looks great. Would happily stay here again.

Lovely place to stay, Onsen was great and the staff were extremely helpful. Close to lots of places to eat and the middle of town.

We had a great time at Nozawa, the quality of the powder and facilities were excellent, a lot of great places to eat. However, the whole experience felt disorganised — we arrived in Nozawa with no instructions on how or where to get our mountain passes from. Leading up to it, Nozawa Holidays seemed fixated on payment, (which was provided in a timely manner, ) but failed to provide further instructions after that. On arrival, we walked around in circles trying to find the office… unsuccessfully (do they have an office there? ). We made a few phone calls to the Japanese number provided and were directed to the cafe where a voucher for the passes were hastily written up for us. To add to the confusion, there was a ski-school (not the where we were supposed to have our lesson) on the other side of town which we were directed to by the accommodation that NozawaHolidays had organised for us… which is a bit strange — wouldn't they know it's different?
We also walked from one side of town to the other, only to realise later that there is a free bus. Anyway, over-all, we had a great time but some better instructions would've been appreciated.

Very large, comfortable rooms. Perfect for large groups of people. The included breakfast allows a choice of Japanese or Western breakfast. We had the Japanese breakfast, and it was fantastic, with a variety of dishes. Service is fantastic as well, with the staff speaking some English, making it very suitable for foreign guests. All-in-all, a highly recommended place to stay in the area.

This place is heaven a must go to place on your bucket list.

Fell in love with this town. So beautiful and people are very friendly. From the moment we booked with Nozawa Holidays everything was seamless. From accommodation to ski hire to ski lessons to tours and massages. We stayed at Kaiya Lodge and Akiko and Nathan were so friendly and very accommodating. Such great hosts. The staff were awesome as well especially Caroline. Our ski instructor Matt Leuverink was amazing. He was very patient and had my daughter and myself both skiing by the end and trying runs I would never dream of. Would highly recommend him as an instructor. Only high praise for the Nozawa holiday team. Great job. Would definitely return.

Absolutely amazing town, people, food and drink. Stayed here for a week and didn’t want to leave. Will definitely be back again soon.

Japanese style accomdation. Close to nozawa onsen ski resort. Friendly staff. Midrange price for what you get.

Room is way way better than I expected, they care all the details in the entire place. Remember to book with the breakfast, super valuable meal to begin the day! Highly recommended this place!

Nozawa-onsen is definately a place to put on your bucket list. Absolutely amazing place to visit and the locals are so friendly and happy to help with anything at all. Perfect place to go to experience a gorgeous Japanese village lifestyle. If I could live there I would.

This was a lovely stay for our family (2 adult children). Simple rooms, shared amenities, very good breakfast, helpful hosts. Scrupulously clean. Recommended.
