This is the 2nd time I'm staying at this hostel. It made me feel that I'm at home. The place is in great location, close to Nishiarai Train Station and closed to other amenities like grocery store, izakaya's, restaurants, Ario Mall and others. The facilities itself is very clean and if not satisfied that you can always go to receptionist and request to attend to your concerns. The food was great in their dining area, breakfast too. They also have scheduled activities for hostel guest like Visiting a Temple, go to fish market, Kimono and Jimbei night were you can try and suit the Japanese Cultural dress. This place is the best so far in Tokyo and you'll never go wrong when you stay here. Then, most of All are the friendly staff here that they greet you with their sweet smile and hello. Excellent service! Very good food, the staff is friendly, all speak English, the whole place is perfectly clean and organized. They do activities for the guests.

Really an hostel that I will recommand.
Ok the situation is a bit far from the center of Tokyo, but except that all is good.
The staff is very kind and helpful, there is a laundry, you can have access to a gym, and there are fun activities proposed.

Stayed in many hostels in Japan and this one ticked alot of the boxes … the facilities activities were great … and all the staff were fantastic … don't hesitate to book … wished we stayed on our first leg to Tokyo but sadly they sold out of weekend beds …

I loved this hostel SO MUCH! I even went back there after having spend some days in different parts of the city. The staff here is the BEST, they are so friendly and so much fun, they organize a lot of activities (like traditional craft workshops and karaoke nights and walking tours). The best thing are 'local meet-ups': they invite locals over to drink something in the bar, so everyone can make new friends talk. The lounge is very cozy. About the location: across the street is a big supermarket and on the other side of that is the subway station. Very convenient. There are also cheap little restaurants. The only thing I didn't like was the (500yen) American breakfast, I prefer something real Japanese.

Really nice! I stayed here earlier this year in a dorm room and my bunk was essentially a capsule. The room was equipped with several big and secure security lockers and the decor was really professional looking. Don't be too surprised by this. I believe one of this place's earlier incarnations was a business hotel. The bathrooms on the same floor were fantastically clean and well-kept. The self-catering facilities are one level up from reception, the latter of which is a flight of wide stairs up from the street. The kitchenette — located in a large lounge area equipped with desktop computers — has a fridge and microwave; there may also be a stove but I can't remember. You can also obtain day access to the 24 hour gym next door to the hostel. I did this on a few occasions. Just speak to the friendly staff, pay the fee, and they'll give you an access key which you need to return to claim your deposit back. Overall, I absolutely wouldn't hesitate to return here, if I visit Tokyo again for a short time. There's a rail station close by, as well as a large supermarket. Finally you may want to pack lightly; the escalators weren't in operation when I arrived.

Awesome place. Value for your money. English speaking and very friendly staff. No other place could beat the price for value ratio in my opinion. This is the only hostel in Japan where I got more than what I paid for, the rest are still up to quality standards of course! You just get more here.

Amazing hostel! The best that I've been to. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and organized. There are many activities throughout the week and it is very easy to meet other. This hostel definitely made my trip to Tokyo enjoyable and I am glad that I stayed here.

This was by far the best hostel I stayed at in Tokyo. It was always very clean, they always had something organised to do, the food was great, the staff were always really friendly and would always help you if they could. If going to Tokyo I would say this is a must place to go stay.

Such a great place to stay. A bit out of the city but so close to a train line it’s okay. Great dinning options close by and a grocery store. Staff were friendly and helpful. Stayed here at the start and end of the trip and it was great looking forward to coming back and knowing we were coming back to a great spot!

Location is near multiple shopping malls and grocery stores. There is a long stretch of local stores and restaurants. The train station is 100 meters away. Rooms were about $116 for a 3bed room, and it was cramped, but most places feel that way to Americans. The staff is knowledgeable, speak great English, are excited to help you, and put on great events during the day and evening. The free space/lounge area is great for small groups and for big groups, which made meeting other people on holiday easy and relaxed. Also, they have a great breakfast for 300 yen, which was scramble eggs, sausage, potatoes, toast, and tea/coffee/juice.

This is an unique 5 star hostel. It has a big bar where you can enjoy drinking, music, and working. Helpful staff. Western atmosphere. Clean and comfortable bedroom, shower room, and toilet. Free shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. High speed Wi-Fi. A fitness club, a supermarket, a railway station, and some restaurants nearby. Only one thing you should consider is that its location is a bit far from Central Tokyo. You should check carefully how to access this hostel before arrival.

One of, if not the, best hostel I've ever stayed in. The hostel service is generally good, but what makes this hostel the best are the sheer number of events organised by the staff. You can partake in events like meet ups (called "meet up bar") where you can meet Japanese locals and other hostel guests. A great way to get to know Japan and make friends on your travels. They also offer a great number of workshops, like a sushi making workshop, which are less regular, but of high quality. Definitely a hostel you should check out, if you're staying in Tokyo. (My recommendation is to check the event calendar on their webpage. )

One of the best hostels I've stay at. From the time you step inside their beautiful building, you feel welcomed while you cannot stop looking at the trendy modern decor. Rooms are super clean with clean toilets and private beds. Emblem offers many activities that you can sign up for on the spot. I recommend the sushi making class. I know this will be my destination when back in Tokyo!

Excellent, kind staff. The place was clean, had cool activities and was reasonably priced. A little bit removed from the “‘main” areas of Tokyo but if you don’t mind a short train ride, you can’t go wrong here.

If you're reading this review — just book it. Emblem hostel provided one of the best travel experiences I've ever had. Here's why I'll never stay anywhere but Emblem is I go to Tokyo: 1. The social experience is amazing. In one week there I made sushi, tried on kimonos, made mochi in the town square, took a bike tour all around Nishiarai, and met a whole lot of friends. 2. The staff is incredible. We met everyone who worked there within 2 days of being there and somehow had personal conversations with all of them. Cool, fun, engaging, and friendly people who help you out with anything and everything. 3. Emblem is a well-run place. Cleaner than the nicest hotels I've been to in the USA, always fun events going on, easy to get around with provided directions and help. Stay at Emblem and make sure you get a burger while you're there.

Great staff, nice accomodations, not so pleasant guests. A bit "western" too — music, food, no shoe locker, noisy, etc. Probably the nicest staff in any place I've been, english spoken. Breakfast was not included, and inexpensive (but not very good either). Within 1 block of Lawson or Aeon which has cheaper and better food. Too remote, also: you'll be on a 30 minute train ride each way to leave the 'burbs.

This is a wonderful place! Here are delicious cool burgers with a large portion of fries! And in general this hostel is very and very cool! You can visit different master classes here! and learn to make sushi… You will go to the sushi shop and the calligraphy courses to pass) ) )

Absolutely wonderful experience. Lovely place and an amazing value for the money. A minute from the station, accross the street from Aeon, restaurant, bar and parties for guests. Decent breakfast, very comfortable beds, showers are shared but private and have everything you need. All sorts of amenities including access to 24 hour fitness center, lounges, outdoor terrace. This beats staying in a capsule hotel or crashing in a dumpy business hotel by a hundred times! I was stranded due to snow and will not complain a bit!

Staff friendly, we live in a double room, there is a bathtub, size towels will change every day, refrigerator TV air-conditioner toiletries, next door is the supermarket is very convenient, but because it is private iron, in the North thousand residential station transfer to the Tobu Railway, out of the station need to ticket-190 yen.

It's excellent friendly place cleaned modern safe.

Second time staying and a comfortable environment as expected. Everything is super clean and the receptionists speak good English. Only thing to watch out for is that they don't have free tea or coffee in the morning so bring your own.

Great hostel, I felt like home, impeccable cleanliness and the staff, composed mainly of young Japanese anglophones, is very competent.
So clearly a great 5/5 well deserved!

Amazing hostel. Cleanest one I've been to on my 3 month trip. Staff is nice. Right next door to a gym, giant grocery store, And a train station on a main line to most of Tokyo. No complaints at all.

If you're looking for a real option for a hotel this is the place. We took a private room and it was great. Clean, spacious, bathroom is private and with all the amenities from a hotel.

Grate place, friendly young people atthe counter. 24hrs counter people, at 7:30am. A small little breakfast, with a toast a Lil bit of eggs, jam and coffee or juice, big lockers with key in your dorm room. Big enough for a carrie on. There's also get together at the lobby for sushi demonstration and learning hands on how to make it. A tour guide to a local temple and learn a Lil of the culture, oh a tour to a sumo. Wrestlers practice the place it's right next to a big super market, convinient stores. Atm. The price for this place it's really good for being in japan where everything it's astronomical expensive, and the staff are awesome energetic at the ready willing to help you, towels come with your stay, look! Traveling can a bit sucks when we are not in the comfort of our home, but this place its def grate to rest your bones. Recharge, and even recharge your electronic devices, also there's free body wash soap, shampoo and conditioner, I been going to japan many many years and this is hands down a grate hostel to stay. For a few days or even if you just cruise trough really quick. Very helpful staff!

If you are a traveler with friends this is the perfect hotel for get away. Not luxurious but clean with many facilities. Awesome place also with a barbecue hangout!

The surrounding area is perfect for anyone who wants to know more about Tokyo, not just the common tourist spot, you get to see and experience the local living. Spend at least half day to explore the area, many nice place, Ario Mall also got everything you need.

This hostel was absolutely fantastic — the staff were really welcoming and the events really made you feel welcome. This hostel really lived up to its mission statement. Ruta deserves special mention, he was so helpful all the time. I hope I can stay here again soon.

Lovely hostel to stay in. Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, extremely clean and tidy, comfy beds, 2x toilets and showers in the 8 bed women's room Shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. My only thing is the serving of Barrister made coffee doesn't start until 11.30 though it is nice coffee. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks guys xx.

Pros: Comfortable beds, good bathrooms. Friendly staff, competitive prices. Good amenities. Expensive drinks and food and far away from the city.

Stayed there for three nights and I loved it! The staff were super friendly and the place was full of good vibes :) The place has a very relaxed ambiance! The food at the cafe was flavorful! Especially their burgers and I also tried a chai tea latte which had a strong taste of chai, yet, delicious! Only downside is, long train rides to the main hubs of Tokyo like shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza and more since it is located away from the city. All in all, I would love to stay here again.

I stayed in the Emblem Hostel Nisihiarai for three days and my experience in its place was great. I've travelled a lot of different places in the world and this place is definitely one of the greatest places i've ever visited in terms of the price and service. I highly recommend for the people who are tight on their budgets but want to have a clean and chill place to sleep in. Furthermore, You will make a lot of new friends in here if you're willing to. The only bad thing about the hostel is that it's not in downtown Tokyo, so you might spend some time on the train to get to downtown (Like an hour). Who wanna party in Shibuya or Shinjuku should take that in their consideration. Besides that, it's a really chill place to stay over.

The rooms and facilities were clean. Although it's a little far from central Tokyo like Shibuya or Shinjuku, it is relatively close via subway (and there are a lot of things to do nearby). The staff were incredibly friendly. I only wish that they would give more towels and not charge for amenities like slippers and water. All in all a really good experience.

Best place in the world! From the first night to the last you feel like it's your home! The staff that work here are absolutely top notch the best! They go above and beyond to make your stay an experience like no other all the staff so friendly and welcoming! Will definitely be returning!

Clean, 24-hour reception service, tasty burgers & beer, spacious lounge area / outdoor seating. They do events and meets with locals (though I did not have the chance to participate). Overall a friendly environment, very very close to the train station. About an hour outside of inner Tokyo by train, so it's a nice refuge from the bustle of the city.

Nice restaurant and bar at the bottom. Lounge is spacious and comfy. Only complaint is how hot the nights were. Sweating through nearly ever night.

Room was very neat. Beds are pretty small but comfortable. Free shampoo, conditioner, and body wash is available in the showers. Showers are spacious and have space to keep your belongings dry. Breakfast is simple without much selection, but tasty. The pricing is very reasonable for the accommodations and location, I would recommend staying here while in Tokyo.

Best hostel ever … actually is the best place i've ever stayed in japan … very friendly and helpfull staff. They can speak english and you will feel like they came with you from home or they've been studying with you in high school hhhhhhh. Very comfortable … and price worthing … karaoke nights … festivals … breackfast all organized by hostel. Realy was best days ever. I recommend it to everyone u will never get bored.
