Rooms are very clean, staff are very friendly and helpful! the owner who lives across the street is very kind and hospitable aslo including his 2 sweet shiba inu dogs.

Really happy with our stay here. It was fun to stay in a slightly more traditional space with tatami mats and futon mattresses. It was everything we expected it to be, not luxury accommodations but definitely comfortable and a great price. The staff were helpful. Water pressure was amazing. Smart toilet. Very satisfied overall.

Comfortable enough, friendly staff with solid English. Not a "traditional" Japanese experience, and the rooms are very minimalist, but, unlike most similar places, you get a fridge in your room, and private shower. Bar downstairs is well stocked with a variety of sake, and local craft beer.

Polite staff, big rooms, everthing was fine, didnt hat any problems.

Spotless guesthouse. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Situated in a quiet neighbourhood but short walking distance to Nishiki Market, Uptown Kyoto restaurants, shops, bus and train transport. Thoroughly recommend. I’m staying for 7 days.

Closer to public transportation. Host provides full directions to their location. Clean, privacy and good place. Will stay again if visiting Japan.

A good hotel where to rejuvenate, close to public transport with good auxiliary services.

Spacious and clean, we have our own bathroom, air conditioner and small fridge. Clean towels provided and a large window. Large common area downstairs. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is even a daily weather forecast on the reception desk. Sleeping on futons, it's a beautiful blend of the traditional and the new!

Good Location, not far away from bus stop & metro. Staffs are friendly too, seems to be all from international, so their English level is not a problem. The tatami is really comfortable! However, the washroom/bathroom is a bit small. Still acceptable as the price is really low.

Absolutely loved staying here! All the staff were incredibly nice and very helpful. The rooms are very clean. The tatami mats are very comfortable. Cute and affordable souvenirs sold in the lobby area. Maps and guides are provided for fun local places to visit. Fantastic all around and I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto! Thank you, Seibido Inn for a great stay :)

Just stayed for one night. Rooms were decent size and the floor mats were very comfortable. Shared bathrooms and showers.

The staff is very friendly. Nothing more to get here are several maps very useful and a sheet where you have the most important to visit and how to get there.

This very good hotel. Very attentive to the girls who wear it and the room spacious and clean. The living area of the ground floor with free coffee and tea is also very good.

Here is highly commended for travelers. Reasonable price, location is very nice.

Pro — the inn is really well placed. You can access a lot of the sights of kyoto by hopping in one of the many busses near the inn. Contra — the dormitory beds weren't comfy and you could hear other guests opening and closing doors and speaking through the walls. Conclusion — recommend only if you do not want to stay to long and want to visit a lot of the sights in a fast pace.

Seibido is an amazing place to stay when in Kyoto. Clean and spacious room with tidy toilet and generous toiletries. It is also accessible to almost all points in Kyoto. Joshua, the receptionist was equally amazing. He was very helpful and even went extra mile by calling the hotel we we were about to check in to next after Seibido (thank you! ). It was indeed a lovely time in Kyoto. I highly recommend this.

Beautiful family-run Inn near popular Gion and Sanjo areas, and only a 2 stop subway ride from Kyoto Station. The owner speaks English if you need it, and is very flexible (offering to keep our bags as we arrived before check in — though early check in was not possible). Meals are available for a small surcharge, but did not try these as we sought to eat at restaurants nearby. Room was spartan but comfortable, with tatami floors and traditional futon beds. Green tea was waiting for us (to brew ourselves, using the provided piping hot water from the thermos) when we arrived to our room, which was the perfect way to unwind after a long day.
