JR Clement is an excellent choice, especially for travelers planning to cycle the Shimanami Kaido. The hotel has a fantastic location right outside Imabari Station, making arrival and departure extremely convenient. The staff are friendly and well-versed in English, which makes the stay even more comfortable for international guests.
A Lawson convenience store is located right outside the hotel, and there’s a well-stocked amenity bar near the reception with everything you might need. One highlight was the free beverage service from 6–9 pm, offering multiple types of drinks. There are several restaurants around the hotel, but we chose a konbini dinner, which we enjoyed in the lounge along with the complimentary drinks.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the cycle rental store is right next door, making this hotel one of the best places to either start or end your Shimanami Kaido journey.

This is a fabulous hotel to begin or end your Shimanami Kaido adventure. They look after you very well!
It is very convenient for the bike rental centre and the train station.
They have an excellent breakfast with lots of Japanese and western food and every night, from 6 — 9, they have a free bar with various spirits, sake and red and white wine. It was a great space to socialise and was a lovely thing to do.
The staff were very helpful and they worked hard to make you happy. They successfully organised sending our luggage to the next hotel in Onomichi with the minimum of fuss.
It was a lovely start to our cycle ride and we would definitely visit again.

In our 3 week trip around Japan this was the best value hotel that we enjoyed. We took the single room for two deal and it was fine for us two tall people. We'd finished the Shimanami Kaido on the first day and the bath and bath salts were very welcome. For any trips the location was excellent, the train station is right next to the hotel but you hear nothing from it inside your room. Breakfast was good as was the evening hospitality with a good selection of drinks. The staff were very helpful too. There's a Lawson within 2 minutes of the entrance. We'd book a stay here again in a heartbeat given the chance.
