We had an amazing stay! From being picked up at the station to the moment we left, the service was incredible. Tatsu-san (owner) took us for a walk around the beautiful countryside and rice fields of Ayabe with their wonderful little dog. Nom-san and Tatsu-san prepared an amazing dinner and breakfast for us with locally sourced ingredients and rice from their own ricefield. Also, the farmhouse was beautifully designed and decorated in traditional Japanese style. I highly recommend staying at Ima-ya!

Stayed 3 nights. 3 delicious home cooked breakfast n dinner. Rooms were clean n blankets were out of this world. The hosts were super friendly and accommodating. The dog Ten was adorable. Going to the bath and toilet in the main house was a bit inconvenient especially in the middle of the night. But we did enjoy our time in Ayabe.

We loved staying at ima-ya in a peaceful, tranquil and comfortable environment. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and taken good care of. The room is a tradional Japanese room which is in an annex to their house and you have a living room and a sleeping room where you sleep on traditional futons. We had the half board option which I'd definitely recommend, mostly because the food is tasty and carefully prepared in a classic Japanese home by Nozomi but also because you're in a rather remote area. That's also why we selected and loved our stay as you're in a very peaceful environment close to Ayabe. There's also a lovely dog, Ten, who is very playful and well educated. We even had the chance to go for a walk with her and the owner Tatsuo who showed us one of his rice fields.
All in all I can recommend this home stay as it is an oasis of peace with great hosts and a very authentic Japanese home experience!
