Had the pleasure of staying here in Jan 2019. Hosts were awesome, really helpful. Great location close to ski resorts and really comfortable place to stay!
I had the good fortune of staying at Mountain Hut Myoko in early January 2019. This is the perfect home away from home for your skiing or snowboarding holiday. Super warm and cosy, very comfortable beds and living spaces, excellent amenities, delicious hot breakfast served every morning, extremely close to the slopes (literally a 5min walk to Ikenatoira ski resort) and world class staff! The team at Myoko went above and beyond to help make our stay sensational. They drove us round to a few different rental stores to ensure we got the best deal for our snow gear (thankfully Mt Hut Myoko have Japanese speaking staff which helped us get some decent snowboarding equipment for cheap). When our snowboarding lesson fell through at the last minute they were able to help us organise one quickly and easily. Lastly they were super accomodating with transport, they picked us up and dropped us off at the train station at start/end of our trip, took us to the grocery store so we could stock up on food and booze on a number of occasions, and even dropped us off to Akakura for lunch a couple of times. On the odd time when we didn't get a lift from the staff, it was easy to navigate around Myoko on the local transport. We had the time of our lives and couldn't recommend more highly. We went to the local onsen just about every night, but on the days we didn't we soaked in the sento baths on site at the hut — a wonderful relaxing experience after a hard day of hitting the powder.
