The location, food and accommodations were great. If you are looking for something more traditional this is a perfect choice.

The clerk is actually very careful, the system is careful will be for each guest bookkeeping in reception position. But the hardware is a bit regrettable: 1. There is no individual hot pot, only warm pot, if you want to add water must go downstairs to rush the lobby. 2. The hotel specification is fine and close to the road. We booked this ryokan during new year so the prices were a bit high. The service was excellent, some of the staff spoke English which was a plus for us. The location is also great, being close to the subway and Nishiki market. Meals weren't part of the cost, so we had to pay extra for the dinner. The food was great, more than enough for us. The public bath was okay. Overall we were pleased with our stay.

It's a great ryokan to stay in, with a mid range price, for two people with breakfast, kaiseki dinner and the room I paid 29, 000 yens. The building is centric, you do have to walk to near bus stations and metro stations. Cleaness is good, but since is and old building it feel worn out, so the halls to the room, the outside restrooms are a bit shabby. But the true experience is in the room, all tatami floor. You have a traditional table in the middle and at night staff are sent up to do the beds, which are two futons piled with a duvet as cover. The staff is great, wish more staff had good English, but like most of Japan, japanese English speakers are rare. The breakfast and the kaiseki dinner was very good, you get to try traditional dishes, true delight. I tried the hot bath, is ok and a bit small, needs better maintenance, it had mold in the roof. Just remember they follow the Osen rules, just check them. You don't go with a swim suit, it might be a big no for some. Good experience I definitely recommend it, at least for a day.

Friendly staff and comfortable accommodation. The traditional breakfast and public bath are a must try experience.

Impeccable service. Rooms are lovely. Highly recommended.

Good proximity to the bus network and shopping malls. The public bath is not well clean and no accessories near the washbasins such as swabs or combs. The Japanese rooms are suitable.

Great location and friendly staff. Loved the room and the breakfast was delicious. Very close to a train station and nishiki market. Really enjoyed the bath that they had too. Went when no one else was around so I had the place to myself. Great experience. It's a must while in Japan.

Wonderful staff. Everyone was very helpful in answering our question about Kyoto. Location is great if you plan on visiting the street market. Literally less than a 5 min walk.

This Ryokan is very advisable. It's location is really gut. There are many interested places that can be reached on foot and in reasonably time.

Rating only 3 stars. Was great a few years ago. Trying to email and communicate with them as a non-Japanese speaker is nigh impossible. I have booked through a website and I have a confirmed booking with the website. Although I have not been able to confirm the booking with the hotel over 10+ emails. Even though I do some dodgy translations, have had no responses.

A good place to go during winter.
