Had such an amazing time staying at the Vale! My first time skiing and the hotel was a perfect location to the mountain, and I couldn’t wait to get back to the rooms after a long day on the slopes. Isabella was amazing on the front desk — recommended other activities for us and booked plenty of dinner’s too. She was able to organise a driver for us, Andrew and Kayne from Freshwater, who were so prompt and got us around Niseko safely.
Couldn’t recommend staying here more! The onsen is just amazing too.

We stayed at The Vale for a week at the end of January and had a wonderful time.
The room was well-appointed and decent-sized for Japan standards, we enjoyed the made-to-order breakfast every morning, and the onsen was amazing, we went every night after a long day of skiing.
But the best part of staying at The Vale was definitely the staff at guest services and front desk who went above and beyond with their hospitality — a special thanks to Eric, Harry, Isaac, Kat, Ann, Sam, and a couple other people we unfortunately didn't get the name of. They made our time at The Vale really enjoyable and set it apart from being just another accommodation option in buzzing Niseko. Thank you folks!

Great hotel ammenities; ski in/out location, good breakfast, onsen included, easy locker room for ski equipment, ski rental shop inside the hotel — all 5 stars! Booked everything inc. Airport transfers, ski hire, lift passes etc through their online portal and it was very easy/smooth.
But the staff truly stood out as excellent and deserve special mention! To the concierge team Makoto, Julie and Amelia who helped with booking dinners and taxis, and the front desk Abbey, Yas, Kat and Erik who helped through difficulties like baggage delays and trips to the doctor.
The room itself was a bit bland and no privacy with window looking straight to the street — photo at night time from the car park looking straight in to the room attached. This meant the blind had to be down all day and thus no view of the snow or natural light at all. Not worth paying for superior or deluxe room as allocated a standard room anyway (they all seem to be the same on the ground floor).
Definitely book here for your holiday because it's a great hotel, just would suggest it's worth the splurge to have a room off the ground floor (studio etc).

Our family ski holiday started with horrors when our luggage did not arrive. Communication with the airline was super difficult and mostly lost in transactions. When arrived at the Vale Niseko and informed Mirko about the incident, he immediately took this matter into his hand. He helped coordinate with the airline and with Yamato.
He continued to give us a status update throughout. A lovely hotel staff (thank you) collected our luggage from Yamato's Kutchan office and paid for the fees on our behalf. The fees were later paid out of our credit card which was on file. They did not charge us for the collecting fees at all. Mostly importantly, we did not have to lift a finger and could focus on enjoying our holiday … thank you Mirko and the Vale Niseko team :) You all gave us a true five-star service and experience. The Vale Niseko is so lucky to have you guys.
Thank you again for giving us a wonderful and unforgettable stay at the Vale Niseko. We will not stay anywhere else next time we are there.
Rooms: We stayed in a 3-bedroom apartment with a view of Mt. Yotei. It is super spacious, fully equipped with a fridge, electric hob, oven, toasting machine, dishwasher, laundry/dryer, Nespresso machine, kettle, fireplace, TV, Yamaha blue-tooth speaker, rice cooker and more! We had breakfast and lunch in our apartment nice every day, which was super convenient. The bathroom is so spacious with an onsen feel.

The outdoor onsen is nice.

We have been staying at The Vale each year since it opened and we are always warmly welcomed. Fabulous apartments especially the family-run facing ones with balcony onsen. Great staff always helpful with any requests. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We always stay at The Vale. Great location with ski in ski out, lovely rooms, helpful staff and the Vale Bar and Grill is the best place for a quick break from the slopes.

Second time staying at The Vale. It was nice enough, but something felt a bit off and we probably won't be back for a third time. Can't quite put my finger on it — perhaps it was the lack of Japanese touches. The hotel itself is lovely and the rooms are a good size. Really appreciated the laundry facilities in our studio apartment! The food options are nice, but very Western. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed in the restaurant when things were even a little bit busy. Probably my biggest gripe was the temperature of the pool. We chose to go back to The Vale almost solely based on the pool. We had our toddler with us and felt swimming would be a good activity for her. When we first went there the pool was heated to a temperature that was really comfortable to swim in — even in the middle of the snow! This time round, it was much too cold to swim in. Definitely do not consider The Vale in Winter if swimming is important to you… unless you like it cold! I feel like my review is negative… we actually had a really nice trip and apart from the pool, do not regret our choice. But next time we'll explore alternatives.

Swanky place. If you are looking for an onsen, this place is small and they do not clean up regularly. No face care supplies so best to bring your own. Good to experience this onsen but won't be back. Hirafutei onsen is better value, more pools and full range of products by Kose.

Chilled and relaxed, great location but very Western.

Hard to find a fault. Big rooms. Warm. Ski in and out. Close to key lifts. Good restaurant with great staff who will do most reasonable requests made of them. The Onsen is superb. Best in Niseko.

Went for the onsen in the hotel. It was very well maintained and the onsen was spacious. Clean and easy to use. Although it lacks scenery, the outdoor onsen ceiling had a small opening for snow to fall in, creating a nice atmospheric effect.

I think this hotel is great in many ways: great location, abundant space in apartment, and an excellent in-house ski rental with ski in/out access. But the service is not very good — for example, when we are trying to go to our friend's hotel room on the Hirafuzaka with two small kids in their ski boots, which is only 5-10 minute walk, we ask for a minivan for tons of snow and slippy road surface. But an old woman (manager like) did turn down our request and we have to walk there. But when we got there and on our way back, the staff of that hotel ordered a minivan to drive us all the way back to the Vale. So, I don't think this hotel understand the value of hospitality of traditional Japanese culture and they need to train their managers much more in terms of meeting customers … which I think the other hotel, despite being less expensive, has done much better.

Great location and the best staff.

Nice place, they didn't seem to mind you turning up in ski gear and had heaps of hanging space for jackets. Burgers and fries were nice.

Today is our 2nd day. We take an 2 rooms with an outdoor Onsen which flows from the natural Mountain. It comes with a well-equipped kitchen and fire-place. This lodge is so clean and beautiful. In another word, Paradise! The best feature is "ski in/ ski-out", with a beautiful view of the ski Mountain. They provide conceige service with friendly staffs. Grocery shop nearby at about only 3 to 5min walk. There r many restaurants around and the food simply excellent. People around here are nice and cool. It's like a small village form by people around the world.

Only reviewing the Onsen. Staff are great, the architecture and concept of the Onsen is very nice. However, it is not very relaxing since you hear the sounds from the chair lift and skiers on the other side of a wooden fence. It's also quite small, and the pool is relatively cool compared to other onsens I have visited.

Great place for beginners to learn how to snowboard, the environment was also pretty good. Some rooms also have a private onsen.

Lovely spot for apres ski drinks. Menu is super basic and could be spruced up a lot, but nevertheless, great spot in the incredible town of Niseko.

Brilliant place for stay in the snow, right next to lift and brand new.

Great resort although quite expensive. Perfectly located near the chairlift. Huge room with large deep bath. Unlimited access to onsen is a big perk. Breakfast was ok.

Bar is well located and hood meeting point for end of day / apres.

While at my stay at niseko I visited the Vale's onsen many times. While on the more expensive side their onsen provided a nice mix between super traditional and overly moddern.

Review for Vale Bar and Grill restaurant (not hotel). Location, decor, and service all good. Food acceptable for the rice — like everything in Niseko, not cheap. Interior had all hard surfaces and very noisy for fine dining, especially since almost all of the patrons were Aussies.

A very high quality hotel with excellent service. The onsen here is very beautiful and is open to the public at certain times. Check with the hotel reception. It is more expensive than other places.

Great location, excellent service, disappointed with our room being in the basement. So no view, although costing A LOT of money. Ski in ski out is awesome.

Nothing beats ski in ski out.
