A beautiful resort! We hosted an event here for our family and friends. The staff and service are incredible. Food is also delicious and the onsen is one of the most beautiful I’ve experienced.

You can try the onsen and there's a huge souvenir store in the hotel!

Stayed here as part of a tour in Kamikochi & Shirakawago. The hotel was soooo good we regret availing just 2D1N! Totally worth the price!

We stayed here for one night to experience a Japanese Ryokan and to make use of the onsen. This is a small, family-run Ryokan.

Best hotel of my trip! And the least expensive. Everything was perfect. Rooms were huge, service great, beautiful lobby, easy parking (¥1, 000 per night), nice breakfast.

We walked into our room: and it immediately felt like home. It was neat, tidy and spacious. A comfortable sofa with tasteful cushions. Clean, freshly laundered bed linen, and fluffy bathroom towels.

Our stay at Nakaodaira was a true highlight of our trip to Japan. After a long day hiking Kamikochi, we arrived to Nakaodaira exhausted and soaking wet from the rain.

Absolutely stunning mountain views, nourishing meals, private onsen, and welcoming and generous staff. We loved our stay here and look forward to coming back again!

Value for money. Very attentive, friendly and helpful staff. Very good place to relax and recharge. Hotel is not new but well maintained with good hygiene level.

We ended up staying at this hotel! Unexpectedly, and I was surprised by how rural the area was. However, access was convenient, about 90 minuted from Nagoya so having a car was not necessary.

Underrated hotel! The hotel reminds me of the nostalgic good old days. Tatami room is a bit small but clean and very comfortable. It housed many onsens both indoor and outdoor.

I had a great 2 night stay after my initial 3 nights in Tokyo! Tried both the dinner and the breakfast. They are both traditional Japanese meals with many small dishes.

Gero Onsen Suimeikan is a wonderful place to stay — spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed with both Japanese and Western elements.

We, a family of four, stayed in a large tatami room. This hotel has a beautiful night view of Gero surroundings and scenic views🗻🏔 in the daytime. The room is clean, spacious and comfortable.

Booked a Japanese room with the intention of relaxing and doing the Magome-Tsumago hike. It was perfect for this.

1. A dated, but still quite beautiful ryokan from 1818 with 76 rooms. Has very showa era trappings, but quite nice nonetheless. It has a nice garden space outside.

We stayed for one night in a room with a private outdoor onsen (hot bath). The view overlooked the mountains and was perfect, especially when it started snowing on us in the onsen!

It's been a while since I last stayed at Honitei. It's been three years, and it felt like I'd traveled back in time. However, the open-air bath and toilets have been renovated, which was refreshing.

Following our Shinhotaka visit, we checked into a charming cottage homestay. Enjoying the entire property to ourselves during the off-season including the outdoor onsen.

Very nice guest house and the staff was absolutely outstanding. We really appreciated their help as we had some train issues to get there. And very good recommendations around the city. Thanks again!
