Pros:

• Stunning location with breathtaking views and incredible nature.
• Bike rentals available.
• Two beautiful private onsens with river views.
• Peaceful and well-designed accommodation.
Cons:
• Eventually, you have to check out and leave this wonderful place!
Things to keep in mind:
• Trains run roughly every hour.
• The property accepts both cash and card.
• Best to rent bikes directly from the property—the surrounding views are perfect for cycling.
• There’s a lunch spot nearby, but it closes at 5 PM; other food options are a bit further away.
I came here with a friend, looking to immerse ourselves in nature and escape the urban landscape of the city. I didn’t expect much—but this place exceeded every possible expectation. Hoohoo is beautifully designed, blending modern and traditional aesthetics that fit perfectly with the natural surroundings.
Because only one other family was staying at the time, we had the convenience of using separate WCs. The accommodation offers two private onsens with river views, and there’s a separate shower as well. On the second floor, where the rooms are located, there’s a small fridge, kettle, and microwave, which made our stay even more comfortable. I especially enjoyed eating on the terrace overlooking the river. You can also easily walk down to the river for a closer experience with nature.

It is an excellent place to escape the cities and enjoy calm mountain views.
Mr Kato was welcoming and helpful and even gave us a ride to Shinshiro, as we were planning to go there by train, and he was going there anyway. Also, he has Excellent English, so he has no issues communicating with foreigners.
Surrounded by several hiking trails to the beautiful mountains (not to say that location near the river by itself is terrific)
Definitely worth it's its money.
(The local train station has no IC card terminal, so be careful)

My husband and I had the best time in Yuuya Onsen, all thanks to the owner's outstanding hospitality.
The inn is beautifully designed and has direct river access. After our check-in we borrowed some chairs and enjoyed delicious ume sodas (home-made by the owner), while sitting comfortably in the river cooling ourselves down.   😊
For dinner we went to Craft Burger BON (highly recommended and quite a cool experience). We were able to rent 2 electric bicycles from the inn, which made getting around super convenient.
The private onsens have a view onto the river and a very aesthetic design.
Breakfast was also included (during our stay it was yogurt or milk with granola, dried fruits, blueberry sauce, honey and a bowl of fresh tomatoes and grapes, coffee) — all very tasty.
Altogether we were so grateful for all the kindness we received at Hoo! Hoo! and hope to be able to come back soon. 😊

Very nice and well presented room and facilities. We arrived during a quiet period and had the place to ourselves, otherwise the toilet and shower facilities are shared. The private onsens have a view of the river and nature outside. The owner was friendly and spoke good English. Highly recommended!

Hoo! Hoo! is a very warmth and comfort place with unique interior design. Besides, the onsen is fabulous which locates near the riverside. Mostly importantly, the owner has a fluent english speaking and is welling to support all the guests here. We really had a good time staying in Hoo! Hoo! and we hope to visit this place once again in the near future.

Fantastic location. So lovely and warm welcome by the owner. The place is by the river which of course permits direct view from private onsen of the facility. We stayed there just a night but would want to be around longer as soon as we arrived. Thanks again for your hospitality and recommendation for other site visit and the fruit picking place.
