Kanemoto

Yes, the hotel can provide a shuttle service to Utsumi Station, with the staff making every effort to accommodate guests' travel schedules flexibly.

Guests speak very highly of the staff and the owner, describing them as exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The ryokan offers a warm, family-like atmosphere where staff ensure a comfortable stay and show genuine care for visitors. The service is characterized as gentle and discreet, creating a very cozy environment.

The cuisine is the hotel's proudest highlight, with many guests describing it as culinary art and praising its superb execution. Seasonal delicacies come especially recommended: pike conger (hamo) dishes in summer—particularly the shabu-shabu—and blowfish (fugu) in winter. Guests also praise the thinly sliced hirame (flounder), baked prawns in mayonnaise, and homemade desserts, including cakes. Portions are generous, and in some cases, meals are served directly in the guest room.

Overall, the facilities and common areas are described as very clean and well-maintained. However, opinions on the guest rooms vary: while some guests note their immaculate cleanliness, one visitor reported finding long hair on the futon and in the room. Please keep in mind that some rooms do not have private en-suite toilets, requiring guests to use shared facilities in the hallway.

The hotel features baths, including private baths available for reservation so guests can unwind in peaceful privacy. One of the baths (Tencha-buro) is highly regarded for its water quality, which warms the body deeply and retains heat for a long time. Despite the cleanliness, some guests noted the absence of an open-air bath (rotenburo) on the top floor overlooking the sea.

Kanemoto offers a tranquil, intimate, and home-like atmosphere, making it a wonderful hideaway retreat. The hotel is suitable for couples, families with children, and expectant mothers thanks to its welcoming hospitality. It is an ideal destination for those seeking peace and quiet, high-quality traditional cuisine, and rejuvenation to the sound of the ocean waves.

The hotel has steep staircases, which may present difficulties for guests with limited mobility. It has also been noted that during windy weather, the sound of the wind buffeting the building can be quite strong, resembling the sound of a typhoon indoors.
