This place is beyond amazing… A castle so unique that no words are enough, located on a hill in the middle of the stunning Tuscan landscape…
We simply loved our terrace balcony suite with a large balcony with the most beautiful sunset!
The room was beautifully decorated with a true castle feeling and attention to detail combined with a cozy ambience. So pretty! Food was also out of this world and the headwaiter at the restaurant provided excellent service! The tiramisu was the best I ever had (and even prepared by the table) and the rest of the food was to die for as well…
All staff was extremely friendly and very service minded, from the very warm welcome to check-out.
I really, really hope to return — sooner than later!

The chef, Ricardo and sommelier, Manuela are amazing, passionate professionals who create magic with the tasting menu and wine pairings. Every meal and every wine suggestion were incredible. The historic castle and incredibly beautiful and tranquil surrounding landscape makes this destination a must visit location! I can guarantee that we will return.

The staff was extremely accommodating, and made the experience during our honeymoon memorable. Having a Thermal Spa in our Sunset Suite was the highlight for us, as well as the spa facilities. Great breakfast and stunning views!

Stunning location, sequencing of natural elements, maintaining the aura and magificient ambiance, the serene & beautiful Oli Spa, the thermal water pools (indoor & outdoor), thermal water in the bathtubs of their sunset rooms, fresh and delicious food, one of the most balanced and light Brunello anywhere in Montalcino, exciting excursions, luxury resort with equally luxurious service, I could go on & on, but in two words — a Dream Resort.

What a magnificent hotel with breathtaking views. Fabulous rooms, attentive staff, elaborate breakfast, fun pools and spa. CLASS CLASS CLASS, all the way.

A structure that presents itself from a landscape point of view on a dominant position to the surrounding territory. Structure that looks impressive although the renovation probably too modern. High expectation considering the price of the Room but remained a Po disappointed. Luck was having exploited the castle for the pool and photos. The service did not say pressing but made you feel that you had to order something. Rich wine cellar of quality wines (a. Definitely unique place… But the price paid is definitely excessive and I do not speak on a subjective level but on an objective level in relation to other similar experiences. Compared to the context, the room had seemed decidedly unprestigious.

Great location, outstanding view but really pricy for food and beverages. They produce there own wine who's good. You can buy it but how can they double the price when you eat at the restaurant their own wine. If you want also to get one glass of their cheapest wine is going to cost you 20 € the glass. Rooms are nice but for this price you can renovate the bathroom.

My husband and I have had the pleasure of enjoying this stunning property twice. We love it so much we are returning with my sister and nephew in tow for a 3 night stay in June. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is friendly and helpful and the 360 degree vista is unsurpassed. Highly recommend.

Nice hotel for a course stay (1 to 2 nights) but not for more (I stayed 9 days).

+ Spa, swimming pool — restaurants: 2 on the site (without the pool bar) but in reality only 1, the gastronomic.
— the service and the map of the pool bar, very expensive ex: ordered a mixed salad with salmon, received a salad with that leaves (no other vegetables as notified) and 2 poor tips of salmon… for €18. Another ex, you order beef, you first bring a Board of cheese and charcuterie then chops of Lamb that you keep because it is already 45 MN that the first plate is served.
— room service, you order a mojité and a bottle of wine in addition to the meal for the aperitif in front of the sunset, after 40mn of waiting, everything happens except the aperitif, you call to ask again and are served again 30mn after, in short the Sun was slept for a long time. Very frequent "excuse me" but far from a 5 star service.
— you see on the map of the wild fish at the grill at €60, you are told that it is seabream but that you have to be 2 and when you say you are 2, the price changes, you are told that it is very long and we recommend you salmon… — staff not friendly nor Avena NT, unworthy of a 5 star, even if when the Director is there, it changes and seems even suspicious.

Very good location, beautiful view, spa, several pools.
But the kitchen somehow did not happen. The breakfast was very good.
My Final score is 3, 5 precisely because of the food (especially if taken into account that there is nothing special).

Great location, beautiful spa and hearty breakfast buffet… Here's to the good points… now the bad, very bad:-Home cold-no presentation or visit of the hotel.
-Restaurants: On the site they boast 2 restaurants and the pool bar but in fact there is only the gourmet restaurant and the pool bar, the other (simpler) being closed. So when you arrive at night, the staff sends you to the gastro or room service. The service of the room service as well as that of the pool bar is long, very long and if you are lucky you will have what you ordered! Prices are exorbitant in relation to the service. EX: Salad is said to be mixed (salad, cucumber, carrots and other choices of vegetables, salmon) with just salad and 2 small bits of salmon for €18, you order a filet of beef and you have lamb cotellettes… that you eat because you do not want To wait again 45mn in room service, 2 salads, 1 bottle of wine and 1 mojito… 45mn for the meal and the bottle, 45mn more for the Mojito… long live the aperitif in front of the sunset… too late…
The staff does not really know the map or the wines except theirs… overpriced!
Ok They apologize and offer you the meal but it is not the level of a 5 stars (neither the quality nor the price) and it is the scam not to advertise when booking that there is only the gourmet restaurant for the evening.

Lovely and magical place. Magnificent modern structure and well restored in ancient manor of the eleventh century. I recommend the rooms of the castle of the old part. The spa area is just great. The restaurants are great. Excellent service and genteel. Cost… High but absolutely justified. Very high quality. I highly recommend… great experience!

Stunningly beautiful place. The accommodation is expensive but totally well worth the view. The only peeve I have is that the variety of food they offer in their restaurants are limited. And seeing that you're up high and far away from town. You don't get another alternative. And yes. The food is super expensive too.

Abusive prices for everything, even taking into account this is a high end hotel. Restaurant has average food and painfully slow service. Nice location near many wineries and the town of Montalcino.

Beware of the tourist traps. The rooms are good and the views are great, but the prices of the services are unbelievably expensive. You will see yourself paying €500 for a dinner for 2 with average food and the bad wine "from the house".

Wonderful place and staff were all very friendly. We had a sunset view terrace room and we were not dissapointed. The pool and spa area are just like in the pictures and are amazing facilities. The water in the pool is from the thermal springs. Now to the slight downside. The service and food in the speciality restaurant were superb. The regular restaurant serves tasty Tuscan food but we found the service somewhat off. The be fair on one day there was a wedding and I suspect they were short staffed. However, when paying these prices you don't expect to have less than exceptional service.

The perfect Tuscan retreat — as long as you leave the hotel for dinner. So many great restaurants in the immediate area by far outperforms the fairly average kitchen on site (did not try Settimo Senso).

What an amazing resort! The thermal baths here are absolutely magical. With 360 degree views of Tuscany, this is a wonderfully peaceful oasis. The only negative is that the restaurant isn't particularly good for dinner. However, we will definitely be back for the waters!

The thermals and the view make this place very special. The hotel service was spectacular. The room was gorgeous and very luxurious. We stayed in the newer wing with the thermal bath. I would recommend staying here and eating elsewhere. While the poolside menu was nice, the gourmet restaurant suffers by comparison with other similarly priced dining offerings. I do plan to return and would recommend it to friends.

Lovely SPA with beautiful scenery.

Amazing location and views of the region. Google maps try to lead you down a dirt road which leads you on the wrong direction to the castle. Follow the signs and the sealed road. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Rooms are well laid out and serviced. Thermal pools are a highlight.

The castle of Veloa is located in a very good location just a few minutes from Montalcino. The structure has been recently renovated and combines antiquity and modernity. It also has an excellent spa and two thermal pools including an indoor one. Only fault I found was the cleanliness of the tub not perfect.

It is on a hillock that offers a magnificent view over the Orcia Valley and Mount Amiata. The indoor and outdoor thermal water pools are elegant and enjoyable. In the room you can swim in a marble bathtub choosing to get the sulfurous water… Beware the smell of rotten eggs. A great place, the castle of the veil, done with taste and kept with love.

Fabulous…! Exceptional Site… so much that we do not want to partîr and forget to visit the surroundings of this beautiful Tuscan!

The gates of this castle protect understated luxury and the indulgence that comes with thermal hot springs piped directly into your room tub. Service was helpful and genuinely knowledgable understanding our taste in wine and arranging a very private tour of top winery Poggio di Sotto.

Well what can I say, a true resort at the foot of Mount Amiata val d'Orcia. Seeing is believing. Indoor and outdoor heated pool.

First class experience. Restaurant shares gourmet dishes. Rooms have comfortable beds. Staff is friendly and helpful. Best in Montalcino area especially if you love great beds.

Gorgeous Castle and beautiful the room with his personal terrace and jaccuzi for 2, albeit a bit small.
The view is breathtaking, the service is professional and definitely worthy of a 5 star hotel but the thing that really will leave you speechless will be the SPA infinity outdoor pools with 2. To lose your head! For those who love suggest the massage from 80min!
Only suggestion: enrich a little restaurant menu, gaunt to be in Tuscany.
