We spent one night in this hotel on the way back from our holiday in Corsica so we could hit the road the next day! Very warm welcome and possibility to come late at night around 11pm or more.
The hotel is old and its seen at the deco on the other hand the bed is super comfortable!
In terms of sound insulation this one is no longer in the current standards but good for one night it remains ok!
We didn't have breakfast. This one wasn't worth it (most items are packaged)

Very friendly welcome, room and bathroom sufficiently large and clean! Unfortunately very audible (if the room neighbour showers, you stand vertically in bed). Great beds/mattresses, we woke up without back pain (happens very rarely in hotels). The style is a matter of taste (flower wallpapers etc. ), but this does not detract from the rest. We would come back. We didn't have breakfast, but as far as we could see, the majority was packed anyway (no buffet).

The hotel rooms are pretty and clear, compared to other 2 stars hotels, and they do speak english (wich could be helpfull). Also wothy a mention that they give you a map of the town and a quick guidance about the most popular and finest structures and restaurants :D.

Great Value for Money. Mr. Maurice is of disarming kindness. Cleanliness and order are the master. I highly recommend this hotel in Lucca a short walk from the old town.

Very clean and the manager is very nice. Spartan but has everything you need and is convenient to the center of Lucca. He's got parking.

Simple, clean, easy walk to old town. Great if traveling on budget and by car.

Abbiamo soggiornato all'hotel Stipino per una notte e ci siamo trovati bene. Personale molto gentile e disponibile, struttura non nuovissima ma tenuta bene ed ampio parcheggio privato gratuito sul retro dell'hotel. Ottima posizione, a pochi minuti a piedi da "Porta Elisa" dalla quale si accede al centro storico di Lucca. Unica pecca, la mancanza di un servizio di colazione completa a buffet. L'hotel propone una colazione, facoltativa a 5€, ma da quello che abbiamo capito senza prodotti freschi di forno tipo brioche ecc… quindi abbiamo optato per una colazione al bar. Nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene.

Cheap Hotel, spotless at 400 meters from the walls of Lucca, Mr. Maurizio is a pleasant and friendly person.

First of all, the staff is very kind. You feel like home. The location is close to Porta Elisa (5 minutes walk) and the parking in the courtyard is ample it is free, very convenient. The hotel is not modern but the rooms are more than good to spend a week end in Lucca. The price is honest. An optional 5 Euro collection is offered, or there is a very good pastry shop right on the way to Porta Elisa. They also rent bikes (from personal experience, it is very nice to turn Luca by bike). Very recommended, we will be back.

Welcoming hotel at the gates of historic Lucca, authentic Renaissance favor enclosed in a walled wall.
Certainly commendable the reception of the spouses holders, and good value for money. Due to lack of alternatives I had to choose a cheap accommodation, which has, surprisingly, unexpectedly in the best of my expectations: according to the premise, for fifty euros a skinny double with an external bath should have been lacking in several, Basic accessories, when it turned out to be clean and comfortable, bathroom included, avoiding to make me feel the lack of the classic rooms "all in one". Unique, irrelevant flaw: lack in the basic endowment of a set of disposable slippers for the bathroom (or at least to cross the corridor from room to bathroom).

Like most places in Italy it is a challenge finding your hotel. Once found it was a very nice place. Our private bathroom which we misunderstood is a private bathroom down the hall. All in all a good place to stay.

Maurzio was a great host, we hadn't booked and were lucky enough to get a room. Comfy bed, clean room great air/con. Would stay there again in a heart beat.

This hotel is super: nice and friendly hosts. They do everything to give you a happy stay; personal attention. I could recommand the tast breakfast. The room, including the bathroom, was clean.

I have been there x 3 years consecutive wonderful place wonderful very welcome and the friendly staff always at your disposal… and I think I'll be back as soon as possible.

Just because it's called Stipino.

Dust everywhere and it smells of smoke permeated in the wallpaper.
Towels definitely washed but stained.
Old furniture and oppressive with rugs and carpets throughout.
Friendly staff but the standard of cleanliness is bad.

Good reception staff, spacious and clean.

The hotel is decent, but consider that the price for the room does not include breakfast (add 5€ / person), and this is quite unusual.
