Le Murelle sounded and looked wonderful, but it was still better than I could have dreamed. Daniela is such a warm and welcoming hostess. The surroundings are magically beautiful. The apartment we rented was comfortable, well furnished and what a delight to be in a converted farmhouse with old stone and brick walls after the bleak modernity of so many places. It is a short drive into Lucca where you can listen to an hour of live opera every night of the year in Puccini's birthplace. I hadn't been in Italy for 50 years. Now I can't wait to return.
