Not knowing what to expect, it did surpass mine and my family expectation. Smart and elegant resort without being pretentious. Delightful location with no much nearby apart the lovely and rather busy village of Capalbio 10 minutes away by car, therefore quite and relaxing. Great facilities for adults and family with small children, particularly the separate pools areas. Gym on site if you are inclined and SPA if you wish neither of which appealed to us but they are a nice addition to the facilities on site. The superior room with the garden areas are big enough for a family let alone a couple and the bathroom are large and well equipped. The breakfast is excellent and there is enough choice to satisfy every taste whilst the restaurant serves traditional and delicious tuscan dishes with an elegant and occasionally imaginative touch. The level of service provided from every member of staff was discreet, unobtrusive and professional at all time. The reception staff are relentless in their quest to assist with booking and suggestions, in particular the incredibly helpful Rachele who I mainly interact with throughout our stay, without taking anything away from Mauro and Barbara who are incredibly charming and very professional. Some drawbacks? The staff are superb and they do try very hard and always succeed, however it would be nice to be greeted with a smile in the morning which seemed to be alien to some or one in particular at breakfast time.

We absolutely loved Locanda Rossa. It was elegant yet relaxed and the staff was wonderful! It was a great place to stop and relax and located close enough to so many places if we wanted to take a few 1/2 day getaways!

We stayed at the Red Inn for the whole first week of August. Magnificent structure immersed in nature. Welcoming staff, helpful and prepared. The idea is to return, even at other times of the year such as spring.

Very good hotel, well managed and maintained by the team. The location is lovely but quite remote… there are not many towns near by other than the (lovely) Capalbio. This makes it ideal for a short break or a longer one if that is what you seek. The area and locale are not touristy at all. Well recommended.

Our stay at the Red Inn was great! 3 days of complete relaxation and comfort, a quiet place where you can recharge. The large room, with furnishings of great taste, equipped with all the comforts and finishes of excellent quality. The staff is highly professional, kind and very caring. The cuisine combines the local tradition with a presentation and revisiting of contemporary dishes using only local products: tasty and balanced food, we did not feel the need to explore other gastronomic proposals in the area. Very good! We will definitely be back soon.

We spent 10 days at the Locanda. Overall we really liked it but it has a few flaws and a lot more potential. As we shared with the management, it absolutely lacks staff at restaurant and bars. Most guests when there felt the very same. This is not acceptable given the price we pay. I also found the staff generally switched off, taking absolutely no initiative apart from Raquel at the reception and Lygia at the bar. Another girl was lovely but forgot her name. It just lacks proper management to deserve calling itself a luxury hotel. The great : fantastic for families with a dedicated pool. Our kids made plenty of friends. The new suites are lovely. The food is good although they could change the menu daily for guests staying long periods. We will certainly go back if we feel an upgrade in management is made in the next few months. Hope this is helpful feedback.

I think this is one of the best places I have stayed anywhere in the world. The location is stunning it is secluded in quiet rural Tuscany & from the moment you arrive you feel completely relaxed.
The rooms are beautiful with views over the countryside & all the staff make you feel completely welcome.
The food was beyond our expectations at every meal, using fresh local ingredient & they were able to cater from my dairy allergy with no issues.
The pool areas are really beautiful & the have a separate area for families.
Everything at Locanda Rossa has been considered to make your stay memorable I really did not want to leave! & we will definitely be back. There is just something really magical about staying here.

We had already come to the Inn of the Red and I have to say that the resort is even improved. The rooms always very well-cared for even in details, the restaurant was excellent as always and the breakfast super! Great spa, I'm curious to see the new area that will open in August. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. On request also accept pets.

Spending hours in this location is wonderful… thanks to the staff who perfectly care about anything … thank you all have allowed us to spend a wonderful day …

Nice and quiet. Great Breakfast. Beautiful Room. We were running around a garden (approx 30sqm), as the dogs could. A beautiful swimming pool. Fridge by the pool with drinks.

Good food in a nice environment.

Such a magical place in an area of Tuscany untouched by time. Secluded and peaceful in its own right as well as beaches also not far away are towns full of amazing ruins. And it's only about an hour from Rome!

What a glorious place to stay in a beautiful location. Unique. The accommodation, views, swimming pool and food really is fabulous.

My wife and I, last spring, we spent a weekend in Tuscany staying at the resort Locanda Rossa di Capalbio. Friendly staff, beautiful location and beautiful rooms. Must try!

Who you are as a Couple its peace want to have, we recommend this house. We have here four nights spent: Nice, modern rooms (were in room 1 on the ground floor with small garden), beautiful and spacious common rooms, great décor, well-maintained complex in the middle of the olive groves, 2 swimming Pools. Have here can properly turn off. The in-house Restaurant is not cheap, but cooking at a good level. Lunch small menu with delicious salads. Great olive oil from own cultivation. We would love to come back!
