Before describing the apartment, I must first give due credit to its owner. Salvo turned out to be an exceptionally kind, helpful, and communicative person. He stayed in touch with us daily — both to offer recommendations and to make sure we had everything we needed. The highlight was one night (after 11:00 p. M.! ) when, even though he was sick himself (! ), he brought medicine to the apartment for my husband, saving us a great deal of hassle and frustration. In short — this is exactly the kind of host you’d want!
As for the apartment: there are several units in the building, but ours had a separate entrance from a side alley, so it was much quieter (in fact, almost completely silent). The building is clean and well maintained; the apartment itself is brand new, tastefully decorated in a minimalist style, and very well equipped. The fridge had bottles of water, there was a coffee and tea corner, and a jar filled with delicious cookies.
Laundry and drying service is available for an additional €15 — a very reasonable price, especially considering that our laundry was returned the same day, dry, neatly folded, and smelling wonderful. The towels were soft (three per person), and the bed linens — well, I’ll just attach a photo of the pillowcase, the kind you only find at Grandma’s house — a touch of nostalgia! The bed was excellent, the duvet was just the right thickness, and the linens, as mentioned, were pure delight.
