The room was dirty, it had not been cleaned for a while, it had a lot of cockroaches, we found 5-6 used napkins beneath the bed, along with lots of dust.
The toilet seat was dirty too, and even though there were 3 of us, only 2 towels were provided.
There is no cleaning service, the owner cleans it himself.
Toilet paper was not resupplied unless we requested it.
Breakfast was mediocre at best.
The owner charged us 10 euros extra for checking in at 22:00 pm even though this wasn't specified anywhere in the booking app, which stated that it provided 24 hours service, and said sarcastically that he could be at home sleeping instead.
The service didn't speak any English, was rude and sarcastic and communicated only via Google translate and kept talking to us in Italian for ages even though he knew we didn't understand Italian.
It was painfully slow and you could understand that he was making fun of us when talking with others.
I repeat, the service was bad and the room amazingly dirty.

Although this is going to sound like a bad review, it IS NOT!
We had a deluxe room rental from this location for 5 nights.
We saw from the pictures that it is not a DELUXE room, but it looks like what we wanted considering of course the price of the room.
We travel a lot on 2-5 day getaways so we don't always put emphasis on the location where we stay considering that let's face it, on a 2-5 day vacation you only end up in the room to use the bathroom or to sleep.
Palermo a very shabby area, everywhere the services leave something to be desired. Although we stayed in much worse accommodations, we had clean towels every day, shower gel and soap refills, toilet paper and so on.
When we checked into the accommodation at this location, the first thing that caught my eye was that we had 2 rolls of toilet paper, both half full, from here I knew there would be no problem changing our towels or anything else.
We arrived at night at 2, we were told where we were picking up the keys for access and wheels the necessary information. A 10 FOR THIS ASPECT.
The first entry into the room by the staff was after the third night, when 2 people for 3 days had 3 sachets of shampoo and collected one roll of toilet paper, in the consitition that in Palermo was also 28 degrees Celsius.
The 4th day on the way home, I went to Lidl and bought shower gel, toilet paper, very close to buy soap and not like at home I wash once and put it in the wash.

The location is walking distance from the city centre & close to the railway station. The environment is very dirty & rubbish-strewn & feels a bit unsafe at nighttime. It is also very noisy until very late into the night. The room was comfortable. During our 2 night stay there was no hot water from the first evening until half way through the following day so we were unable to shower/wash in the morning. The host initially agreed to give us a 20% refund but then stopped communicating with us & the refund was never made.
