B&B Chapo

My wife and I stayed with Mr. Pippo for 4 nights. Even before our arrival, we received plenty of useful tips and instructions about staying in Catania, and upon arrival, even more. Mr. Pippo is an extremely kind, warm-hearted, and attentive person. Every day he checked in to ask if everything was alright and whether we needed anything. The accommodation is clean, tidy, located right in the city center, very authentic, and an excellent starting point for exploring the sights. Every morning we were greeted with a delicious breakfast. Nothing but praise — we truly and warmly recommend this place to others. We will definitely come back. Thank you, Pippo!

Everything was top notch.

The location is perfect, right in the city centre, close to every important attraction in Catania! Pippo, the host, gave us a map and outlined places to go. All recommendation he gave us for restaurants (best arancini in Catania and delicious sea food restaurant) were more then useful. Pippo's hospitality is really unbeatable.
Basically nothing, but place could be little noisy during the weekends, so that is the only reason I am giving 9 to this property.

The apartment was spotless and well-organized, located just a few minutes’ walk from all the main attractions.
But what truly made our stay exceptional was Pippo’s warm and helpful attitude. He welcomed us with genuine Italian hospitality, gave us great tips, a city map, and fantastic restaurant recommendations.
We felt truly cared for – thank you, Pippo! 😊.

We had the best experience with staying here, the apartment itself is really beautiful and vintage style, spacious and comfortable bed, very clean. The location is unbeatable, super close to everything, all in walkable distance really. On top of all that, the host is the most enthusiastic host ever, gave us the most useful recommendations and advices only locals would know. I recommend you to stay in this place, for it's definitely the best you can find.

Great position, seconds away from major piazza. Also no cars passing so quiet.
Eclectic furnishings which made it memorable, lots of room.
Lots of stairs so not for anyone with poor mobility. I understand a lift will be operational any minute so not an issue then.

Pippo is an excellent host and we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was good with fresh fruits, juice and sweet/sandwich menu based on preference. He recommended great places to visit and eat. The room was clean and the interior is very interesting.

We stayed 5 nights at B&B Chapo and had a great time! The room was lovely, the old palazzo impressive and the location in the city center perfect. Pippo was the best host you can imagine. He was very friendly, extremely helpful and he has a great sense of humor. We got lots of super helpful information and recommendations from him. The apartment itself is clean, located in the city center and it is not your boring everyday B&B. This apartment has a character and you learn that from the very moment you enter the apartment. What a cosy place to stay!

The host, Pippo, is the most welcoming host that I’ve ever met in my life. Helps you with parking, with guides, with places to eat and drink, places to visit and to avoid in Catania…just amazing.
The breakfast is excellent, catered to your needs (if you have dietary restrictions).

The room was very nice and clean, with lovely sycylian feel. Really great location, close to everything, you don’t need to use any transport. The breakfast served in the room was really tasty. Pippo — the owner is extremely polite. He gave us all the information about what to see and where to eat. So we highly recommend this place. We spent a lovely 4 days, eating outside in restaurants, the weather in Sicily still allows for this. Thank you Pippo for everything  – You are really amazing Host! We will come back for sure. Pippo (Giuseppe) is really the most amazing host. My husband booked this through booking. Com but I feel compelled to write a review rather than wait for him to do so. I am overwhelmed at the hospitality of this lovely man — this would definitely rate 10/10 for a stay in Italy (I had written a scathing review about apartment 16 Via Salomone in Ortigia managed by “Wonderful Italy “ which gets 2/10 in comparison)
Pippo kindly picked us up from the bus station as he had a family commitment and he realized we might turn up late, then he proceeded to carry my hugely heavy luggage up 4 flights of stairs. We met up with our daughter and her partner as their itinerary coincided with ours for Ortigia and Catania and went to Sicilia in Bocca for lunch, a recommendation from Peppe. Fabulous bread as I love bread and great pasta, another of my favorite meals.
Breakfast is simple but filling, I really enjoyed my panino with mozzarella and tomatoes and ham.
As we leave early to Catania airport to rent a car, Pippo kindly offered to bring our breakfast the night before but generously added a sweet wine and biscotti for an after dinner drink.
Our room overlooks a piazza that leads to Teatro Bellini so you can people watch from our balcony, we even went down and had drinks with our daughter and her partner at Comis, a lovely place for drinks. Although there is much activity and noise, on shutting the windows, the room is very quiet and peaceful.

Great location in the center. The accommodation is at the top floor of a characteristic old building with high ceiling. There's a small balcony and you get the sun through out the day in the room. Every piece of furniture in the house is either vintage or antique. It has its charms. We get two single beds and our own bathroom. Pippo is the best host, he shared with us some Italian wines and a lot of tips around the city.

Positive: I really liked the breakfast! Pippo asked us what we preferred and made us really good sandwiches, eggs and fruit. I also liked the effort that was put in the looks of this place. Many nice things and pictures to look at! The beds were nice, the bathroom was nice and spacious. The location is perfect too in the city center. And Pippo was very helpful, he even booked a tour for us. Recommended!. Negative: It's a lot of stairs to walk up everytime, but they're working on an elevator!.

Positive: The location is very good, centre of Catania is just 10 minutes walk, and the airport bus stop is also really close. Pippo is a great and flexible host! He provided us a lot of information about the city, gave a map with useful informations. We must mention the breakfast, that was always a good starting point of the day! The style of the place is exciting and typical sicilian — it have met our expectations.
