Al at the time of booking, about 3 weeks before our arrival, we had asked for spa treatments and treatments for my wife who is waiting and we were told that maybe it would be closed for a technical problem but that anyway we had safely done treatments in the room if this problem would not be solved.
So it was not!
Upon our arrival to book treatments they spent several days inventing a series of excuses and in the end they told me that they were not equipped for women waiting after two days of overnight. We never had the pleasure of talking to the manager of the structure who was never found when I wanted to talk to him and although we left earlier than expected due to their disservice we still had to pay the penalty. And my honeymoon ruined who pays for it now?!? Don't go! They only care about the profit and do not think in the least about customer satisfaction! Prices disproportionate to the services offered. You only pay for the panoramic view of the temples but I think that 1000 euros just to Watch 2 nights the temple of concordia are exaggerated.

We were teased from the first phone call as we later found out that they already knew that the SPA would not be active as it has been closed for several months. (Rumors also say that it is closed due to irregularities found after checks by NAS)

A wonderful place with a romantic atmosphere… qualified staff is very professional. You feel immersed in the valley of the temples, very suggestive. Then I married them, what about feeling like a goddess.

It is unique and allows you to fully enjoy both the place and the archaeological park of the Valley of the Temples successfully directed by the gardens and excellent Sicilian cuisine with a view seated at the Terrace of the Gods.

The Villa Athena staff was exquisite in every way. We enjoyed our stay and our room looking over the Temple of the valley. Angela at the front desk in particular was very attentive and had very nice recommendations for restaurants in Agrigento! The hotel premises and overall atmosphere is soothing and rooms are tastefully designed. We would recommend it highly if you stay in Agrigento.

We were there for lunch after visiting the Valley of the Temples. The property is beautiful and the good was very good too! Eat on the terrace if you can. The views are spectacular! The staff is very friendly and our group really enjoyed themselves!

Really lovely stay at Hotel Villa Athena. Very friendly staff. The friendliest we've had in Sicily. They were very accommodating specially when we requested an additional night. The location is perfect cause it overlooks the Valley of the temples. So from sunrise to sunsets, you have the most beautiful views of the amazing structures. Personally, I think the hotel has an incredible potential to be decorated way better than it is, to make it match with the surrounding areas. The hotel has a good restaurant with great views also & food is good as well. The breakfast buffet was ok but has just what you need to get your day going. I was most excited about the homemade almomd milk and the gluten free options. Bravo. My only complaint is that I was a bit disappointed that the boat services were not available due to unable to reach the owner.

The hotel is lovely and the view is amazing. However, the food is horrible. I cannot stress enough the disappointment, everyone was very dissatisfied with their dishes and unfortunately two people were actually ill because of it. Skip the restaurant. I was offered a complimentary spa treatment as part of my stay, but the hotel failed to mention that I had to book it way in advanced (the complimentary treatment was offered not long before my arrival), rendering the office a completely useless gesture.

BEWARE THIS HOTEL Due to a miscommunication between ourselves and our travel agent, we had a double booking at this hotel. Prior to our arrival, the hotel contacted us, by email, regarding the double booking and sought clarification. We immediately responded, by email, confirming that we required only the lower priced room. Nonetheless, upon our arrival, the hotel was still holding a double booking. At check out, when we sought to resolve the issue, the hotel's attitude was cavalier and dismissive. The hotel later confirmed with us, in writing, that "We have no intention of charging you". However, shortly thereafter, it debited our credit card for the second room and has failed to respond to our subsequent email of complaint. Despite accommodating us in the lower priced room, it seems clear that the hotel always intended to charge for both rooms. As a result, we have been forced to lodge a dispute with our bank, the Small Luxury Hotels of the World Group and the Autorita Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato. In order to post this review, we had to give the hotel one star — our preference would have been to give it none! Sharynn Moors and Ray Chantry, Australia.

One of the most beautiful places in Sicily. The suite with a large terrace overlooking the Concordia temple is beautiful.

A stay at this five star hotel, with it's incredible view of the Greek temple of Concordia in the Valley of the Temples is must. Stylish, elegant and perfect for a romantic stay. Exquisite food and wines.

Unique experience in this hotel with the view of the Temple of Concord, refined environment, friendly staff, the cost of the room maybe a little pricey but all in all it is right! Also go to the restaurant in the hotel because it really deserves it!

Great place but no respect to the ancient area. All the hotel shouldn’t been built above the ancient town. Especially the spa building has a glass floor that saw you what I mean. Shame!

PLUS: The location of the hotel with the view of the Concordia Temple. The buffet breakfast very varied, we had lunch once at the hotel, it was very good. The room was very nice (aside from the view) Less: the only reason to take this hotel is the view of the temples. We had therefore taken a room with a view of the temples, and we had a view of the parking lot, (supposedly system error), we would have known before we would not even have slept in the area.
For the suitcases you manage yourself, no help from the staff despite the stairs.
As another customer said: The 5 stars of this hotel mainly concerns the view.
Poorly soundproofed room, we were constantly awakened by the noise coming from the hallway or the room in front.

Very expensive, went there because Google said they served vegan food. Not true, only one dish was vegan (caponata). Small portions, like an expensive restaurant. Interesting decor, situated over an old well (or made to look like it is an old well). Near the Temple Concordia, so that's nice. Sliding electric door to restaurant was difficult to figure out and bruised my fingertip when it finally opened. Service was good, menu is in multiple languages. Try the authentic Sicilia dishes, some are vegetarian.

The location is amazing, with the perfect view on temples and private entrance. The hotel itself is nice, with small details that could be reviewed, but nothing major (Wi-Fi is a bit annoying when down).

Location location location! Hotel Villa Athena has that and more. The restaurant food is OK the breakfast selection is plentiful. The gentlemen who takes care of the LA TERRAZZA bar is the best host we have had on our journeys Bravo!

We had the most amazing stay in this fabulous hotel. The staff were absolutely the best. The food and accommodation could not have been better. We were sorry to leave and will definitely go back again.

Called on time to cancel my reservation for health reasons and they still charged me a full nights stay. Worst customer service I've experienced. Expedía even called the hotel 5 times to cancel. Claudia the hotel manager wanted her cancellation fee despite being unreachable during the five days prior to the time allowed for cancellation.

I had a problem in a room and immediately made me an upgrading.

Unbeatable location amidst the ancient monuments of the Valle dei Templi. Helpful staff. A number of annoying oversights on the design details were irksome: a large bathroom but with no make-up mirror and harsh downlighters was useless for applying cosmetics. The ample closet space looked truly bereft with only two hangers per person. The windows were unable to maintain a position ajar; the only options were fully open or fully closed, far from desirable with a cold breeze blowing in early April.

Our stay at the Villa Athena was a beautiful experience. From the time we checked in, the staff was so friendly and helpful in all aspects of our stay. Giving us map directions to Agrigento etc. Of course I thought the outstanding part of our stay was the room and the view to the Temple of Concord. It was truly amazing and something we will never forget. (Room 301) Our dinner in the dining room was a wonderful experience; excellent service and most of all, excellent food. Breakfast was just as good and just as professional. This was a wonderful experience; do make this a stop on your itinerary.

On a visit to Sicily from Australia the Valley of the Temples looked a must see destination. Villa Athena was recommended by our travel agent and we can only commend him for the advice. The rooms were fabulous: comfortable bed, lovely toiletries, good wi fi, and quiet. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful, helpful staff and the breakfast was very good. However the highlight was dinner looking at the temples. The food was excellent and the wine recommendation was perfect. Sitting outside at night with good food looking at the illuminated Temples was one of the magic moments of our trip.

Absolut splendid experience. Charming staff, dream-location, great accomodation the only fault is that You can not stop time there! Always invest the extra for a room with temple-view or terrace: unbelivabe sight.
