La Suite Boutique Hotel

Very disappointing, certainly not a 'boutique' hotel and would be 2 or 3 star if assessed in UK. The buildings and grounds are shabby and unkempt. The staff are very friendly but the location is difficult to reach and walking around the island just doesn't feel safe, the streets are so narrow and there is a lot of traffic which means you walk in single file, clutching a map and stopping in gateways to check where you are. They will provide a shuttle, but at 5 euro per person per trip it soon adds up — a real boutique hotel would provide this service for free, as well as the pick-up and delivery to the port for the ferry, which is 15 euro. When the hotel restaurant isn't open and you have to go out for an evening meal, then to have the additional charge for being brought home (we'd gladly have walked, but it just isn't safe to do so) grates a bit.
Breakfast was very lacklustre — lukewarm self service coffee in a thermos and plates of pastries which look like they are brought out day after day. On our departure day we went down for breakfast at 8 and they weren't ready (but the coffee was hotter than it had been at 9! ).
The pool is lovely, and we had a welcome free drink on arrival.

Recently spent 5 days in the hotel with family and friends. I will start by saying the staff were wonderful and very helpful! The location was far from ideal, luckily there is a shuttle bus available most of the time for a price. The grounds and pool were attractive. The rooms were adequate though some in my group had constant issues with the AC. As for the food, breakfast was ok however my biggest complaint is with their “so called” restaurant. Having returned one evening around 8:30-9:00 we went to the restaurant looking for a bite. There was one hostess/waitress on duty and two tables set. The guests next to us finally left having waited one hour for a bowl of spaghetti! The other two were not happy either. We did eventually get the simple salads we ordered and the only white wine they had that was chilled. Definitely not what they advertised and not acceptable for a hotel that is supposed to be 4/5 stars!

We stayed here for one night only, as poor weather resulted in the cancellation of all ferries. It looks as though at one time it has been a very good hotel, but sadly that is no longer the case. The room was fairly good, but poorly lit. The grounds were a mess, even taking into account that there had been strong winds. All of the staff we encountered were helpful but seemed disconsolate to be working there.
We asked to book a table in the restaurant. 'The chef is in Naples', we were told. I strongly suspect that it is rarely open. We ate at 'La Pergola' nearby, which was excellent. When we did go down to the restaurant to have breakfast, the tables were grubby and the service lacklustre. Dirty sheets were bagged up in a room next door, clearly visible.
There is a great deal of room for improvement here. We've encountered some fabulous hotels in our travels in Italy, but this isn't one of them.

I could see how this hotel used to be stunning, however not any longer.
The staff was the only remaining stunning thing about this place.
The maintenance on the grounds were lacking. Advertised that there was a spa, however, this is only massage services. There is a spa facility which is very inviting but not open / operational. Unfortunate. They advertise a gym facility. There are three pieces of equipment and they are older.
The pool area is very nice although the umbrellas are so small that there is little shade to be had and whoever designed the area around the pool did not give much thought to the fact that the stone would hold heat. You cannot walk barefoot around the pool as the stones were so hot they burned the bare foot.
I actually got up and skimmed the pool myself a few times because it needed to be done. (lol)
The reception staff were so helpful and precious. The only problem was that in the morning you never really knew when they would arrive. At times there were lines at the reception area just waiting for someone to actually show up.
In sum, the owner of the facility obviously turned his attentions to his other ventures because this facility no longer made him the money he was hoping it would. Therefore he made a business decision to just 'not care' about this place any longer and it shows.
They advertise a restaurant on site. I went to eat at the restaurant one night and was told it was closed because the chef didnt feel well so he went home.

The staff are superb, very friendly and helpful and the hotel concept is lovely. You can tell that when new no expense has been spared however it is a little tired and a little dirty.
The cushions were dirty in the shaded eating areas, some of the wooden seating and flooring was broken and uneven. The sunbed cushions needed a good clean down (you do get towels to cover most of the area). The mirror under the bar counter was never cleaned, the floor never looked swept and spilt food and drink was still remaining on the floor around the sunbeds from the previous day. With a good deep clean and the cleaning kept on top of on a daily basis would restore this hotel to how it did look when new? It certainly has the potential to be much, much better.

The pool area is nice, though we opted for a beach club. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was decent, but the cleanliness needs improvement. The restaurant experience was terrible. Despite this, I would likely stay here again.

The hotel is amazing. We felt home while on vacation. The staff is very kind and professional. The room, garden and swimming pool were super clean. The body message at the spa was super relaxing.
The breakfast was delicious. The transfer from the hotel to the beaches and restaurants was well organized and always on time. We will definitely come back!

La Suite Boutique provided the BEST setting for a long overdue family holiday. We enjoyed long lazy days by the pool, world class treatments in the spa, family workouts in the open air gym, taxis whenever we needed them, brilliant tips on how to explore this heavenly little island and the best Italian food from this divine region. Ivan, Simona, Rosalba, Francesca, Marika and the rest of the team, you outdid yourselves. The memories you helped us created will last a lifetime. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and keep up the good work.
