The hotel has retained all its original features & should remain that way. All the staff were very friendly, informative & attended to all our needs. The location was ideal on the outskirts of the town with a 5 min walk to an array of restaurants. If I was to suggest an improvement it would be to supply tea & coffee facilities in the bedroom. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel for your stay in beautiful Stresa.

Beautiful artno hotel, impeccable cleanliness, great breakfast, great courtesy. Very comfortable location in the center of Stresa and a short walk from the Imbarcadero. It has nothing to envy to the majestic and super modernized lakefront hotels.
Very nice the park/garden that surrounds the hotel.
The only flaw is the train that you hear pass every now and then.
Another thing we really enjoyed is the courtesy towards the pooches (leather kennel in the room).
We're going to be back for sure. Thank you again and soon.

The hotel exceeded our expectations! Location is perfect, close to the main square and the 'city centre's but still quiet and peaceful. The style of the hotel is very cute and personal super friendly. They also have continental breakfast where u can find all tlwhatu need. There is a chilling area outside in front of the hotel with lounge chairs and tables where u can enjoy your espresso. Recommended!

Stayed here 6 years ago and decided to make a return visit. Not a huge amount of change given the new ownership. New bathroom. Bedroom looked a little dated… needs decorating. I did find the bed a little uncomfortable and the pillow very hard. Breakfast was average although the cake and bread was a little stale on a couple of days. Having said this the location is great and the covered area by the main entrance a nice place to sit… the sloping grass area not so easy to feel steady in a chair. I do like the old character of the communal areas but feel the bedrooms need to be a little brighter and the corridors in the annex. We were in room 37 (I think) so maybe that one hasn't been done. Our friends on the ground floor by the door (annex) looked more recently decorated. Air con is a great addition in the bedroom… much needed. Hooks and toilet roll holder needed in the bathroom. Friendly staff. Nice dog.

Good hospitality, the room with terrace was a pleasant surprise, although unfortunately overlooking the railway that passes at the border with the hotel park. That's why I gave 4 of the 5 stars it deserves. Breakfast is great and ranges from salty to sweet, with great homemade cakes. The location is a bit off but you reach the center in 5 minutes. Nice park and patio where you can stop for a drink.

The hotel is a delightfully characterful property built in 1890. Originally a country villa, it has been a family run hotel since the 1950s. We were in a Junior Suite which has a large terrace looking towards the lake. When originally built, the view of the lake would have been virtually unobstructed but even now, it is a lovely view. The railway runs behind the hotel, which when we realized how close it was, worried us a bit but turned out to not be a problem. The location of the hotel is excellent as long as you can walk uphill as it is up the hill from the lakeshore. But, it is only a very short walk. And the road opposite the hotel takes one right down into the centre of the town in a couple of minutes. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant recommendations were excellent. The breakfast at the hotel is very good — a large selection of local cheeses, meats, fruit etc. The main building needs some TLC (tender loving care) in all honesty. Our bedroom could do with redecorating. The hall carpets were a bit worn etc etc. All in all, an excellent hotel and one to be recommended. Thankyou.

After an eventful journey we arrived at the hotel, which was well signposted, at 2am to be met by a friendly night porter who showed us to our room. Our room was in the main villa and was comfortable and clean with a balcony over the garden. Breakfast was delicious and provided everything you could possible want from fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal, cold meats and cheese, croissants and fresh bread as well as pastries and cake. The hotel is set in a quiet residential area near the station, and very convenient for the main squares and lake front which are 5 minutes walk away. The hotel staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about places to go and suggested day itineraries. They also allowed us to leave the car when we went to the Fisherman's island for a night. An ideal base to explore the area and we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The hotel was a walking distance to everywhere in Stresa. The room was nice with a lake view that we did not ask for but noisy. Breakfast was OK but the coffee from a thermos was tasteless very unusual for Italy definitely needs improvements.

Parking for free. Breakfast very good and generous. The rooms are clean and regular equipped with fridge. Nevertheless the hotel is closed to the railway and you can clearly hear the trains. The isolation is not well done neither and you can hear your neighbor snoring : — (

Lovely secluded small family hotel set in nice gardens and very convenient for the town centre of Stresa. 5 minutes walk down the street opposite the entrance drive and you are on the Lake front and the ferry departure point for the Borromean Islands. Stresa has lots of good restaurants and is very compact so easy to get around. The hotel is a "time warp" experience. You wouldn't be surprised to see Hercule Poirot at any turn throughout the hotel. The whole place has a very relaxing atmosphere and is truly a feel good experience. The breakfast buffet is extensive and very good and taken in a lovely light pre-war décor room. Tip! The coffee in the buffet jugs is always barely warm. Ask the waiter for coffee from the expresso machine it is just the taste you want in Italy and hot and they graciously bring it to your table. This is as far away from a city or group hotel as you can get. Just lovely!

Beautiful hotel in vintage villa with original furnishings has a wonderful park surrounding and parking inside. Very nice and friendly staff The hotel is a stone's throw from the centre of Stresa. The triple room in the dependance is fabulous, because thanks to a wall cupboard creates two adjoining rooms with a single bathroom and the other double. Breakfast very varied very good value for money area.

Very good location in Stresa. 4 minutes to the jetty and restaurants, unfortunately very close to the train.
Very good breakfast. Rooms very clean. Facilities of the rooms and sanitary facilities from the last millennium.

Hotel 3 stelle in pieno stile classico. Frequentato da un elevato numero di clienti francesi, si pone sopraelevato rispetto al livello del lago e presenta un incantevole giardino attorno al palazzo e alla struttura a fianco. All'interno dominano carta da parati, scale che scricchiolano, arredamenti di una volta e un'accoglienza in stile francese. Non adatto a un pubblico giovanile che non apprezza questi elementi. Unica nota dolente, di fianco all'hotel dietro la siepe corrono I binari del treno che porta alla stazione di Stresa.

Beautiful structure carved in a vintage villa; I stayed in the annexe and the room is nice and clean. Only flaw during breakfast have come to miss the bread and brioche not readily reintegrated by the room staff.

Charming Hotel, set in a beautiful and peaceful setting with a beautiful view of the lake, very close to the centre. The courtesy and helpfulness of all the staff helped make our weekend unforgettable. Good breakfast. Thank you all.

Lots of charm and very good service, very clean but some parts require a little refreshment.

No service and can hear noise from trains passing which disturbed sleep. Do not stay in the annex building. It has no elevator and you have to walk pass a gravel path. Reception (a small lady) on arrival was helpful but leaving was really a struggle. No help at all from staff (a big man) when checking out. Breakfast was too packed. Avoid this hotel during high season weekends. The room itself was quite pleasant and very clean.

Wonderful hotel, very helpful staff. Nice rooms. The only downside is that it lies close to a railway and the trains are audible through the night.

The hotel is immersed in greenery and flowers. Coupled with the sublime location on the hill looks spectacular. The interior is designed in an exquisite style and also mesmerizing. Breakfast is modest but sufficient and can be poured with a morning Prosecco!
Nearby railway, so at night you can be confused by the noise of trains…

2 minutes walk from Stresa centre. Very traditional building and interior with lots of atmosphere. Rooms a little dated but clean. Good service and well priced.

Stresa is a very nice place by the lake with a lot of cachë. The hotel is ideally located. Although right next to the railroad. Avoid the back room at any cost.

Hotel rooms are large, clean and beautifully designed. The location is great, just few minutes walk from the lake. The hotel has free parking and breakfast.
