Review of Relais Villa Porta 4*

I had my wedding in this fabulous place on June 18th 2017. As far as the organization, I was a little concerned as I had to plan everything by email (I live abroad) and e. A. They missed replying to a couple of my emails, but at the end everything went well. Our room was simple, essential with a beautiful view and very clean. Breakfast was actually the best I think I have ever had so far: you can have fruits juices, yogurt, cereals, eggs and other cooked food, at least 3 types of crostata with jam, plain croissants, chocolate croissants, muffins etc…everything fresh every day. Also the waiter/waitress will prepare you cappuccino/cafe’ or whatever you desire right away. Dinner was delicious too, you might think it can be a little expansive, but the quality is excellent and I spent the same money for less quality/variety in the past. So I think prices are on average. The view from everywhere is breathtaking, all our guests told me that this was a dream place and everybody kept taking pictures. At 11.30 we had our ceremony up in one of the gardens and everything was prepared with extreme taste and attention: simple and chic like I requested. Right after we had the aperitivo in the bigger garden next to this one. The breeze from the lake and the shades from the trees were perfect and all of us enjoyed the food and the good time. Then we went down to the “Terrazza” to start with the meal and celebrating with music etc… Tables were perfectly dressed and the service was absolutely EXCELLENT: nothing was missing, all tables were very well taken care and the food…was delicious once again. The only issue, not so little unfortunately, was the heat. The space was beautiful, but the heat made it impossible to have the good time I expected. The roof above the space created a “greenhouse” effect. There were no fans, and there was no breeze from the lake, so the air was hot and stagnate. If there were even fans, I think it would have helped having air flowing around the area. I have heard they are about to install an air conditioning system and I hope they will do it, this way this place will be absolutely perfect at any time of the day. Enzo is a great man and was able to make us feel 100% comfortable at anytime with the organization of the event. He helped me not to stress out to much and to enjoy our stay. Lara is the perfect house-owner and she explained/showed us all the services her hotel could offer for our wedding. We were so sad when it was time to leave. So much peace, beauty and delights all in one place. You are going to love it, you can't help!
