Locanda Capolago

This is a review about the hotel restaurant (we were staying elsewhere), and our experience there was an absolute delight. I booked the restaurant for a celebratory dinner with my partner, and from start to finish, everything was phenomenal. Between us, we had the truffle egg dish (divine! ), the seafood starter, the perch (fish) main, the veal main, and the tiramisu and pistachio desserts. The wine was excellent, as was the coffee, and the service was faultless — friendly, professional and very efficient. All in all, we had fantastic, top quality food at a great location, and I couldn't fault a thing. Highly recommended!

Very comfortable and quiet place to stay. Close to station and a little walk down to the local supermarket — about 10 minutes walk to the lake and restaurants.
Staff were wonderful, very polite.

Didn't stay, but ate in the restaurant. I'd say this is the best restaurant in Colico, maybe the wider area, certainly our favourite. 3 courses, drinks. All excellent, Steak Tartare, Veal with porcini, rosemary mash, port reduction (superb) mandarin semi freddo with dark and white choc ganache. Service was very good, attentive and friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the food and wine but relaxed enough to compliment the dining experience. We found it great value too, especially for the fine dining it assuredly is, well worth a detour to visit.

Fantastic restaurant! Delicious (very special) local food. Super friendly staff. English menue card available and staff speaks good english too. Also very dog friendly. Many parking options in the area.

The restaurant was very good: tasty food, pleasant atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. The room also was nice.

This hotel offers a great value for money in this location. There is free parking and the best restaurant in town in the hotel. The breakfast also includes freshly cooked eggs, bacon, omlettes, etc. A few minutes to the lake side where all the other nightlife and restaurants are. Definitely recommended!

We had a lovely stay at the Locanda Capolago, and would highly recommend it. We stayed here one night after our trip on the Bernini Express from Switzerland. The location is particularly good for anyone coming by train, just a five minute walk from the train station, and still not too far to walk to the lake foreshore.
The inn itself was lovely, newly renovated and with beautiful wallpaper in each room, very comfortable beds, and excellent bathrooms. We booked two two-bedroom suites, and the only thing to be aware is that in one of the suites (the Bellagio), the second bedroom is directly off the first bedroom. This would be fine for kids, but for adults, it means that the only access to the bathroom is through the first bedroom. The other suite had a corridor between the bedrooms and bathroom. There was also a pleasant sitting room that all guests had access to.
We had a good breakfast served in the restaurant, which was included in the price. We also chose to eat dinner in the restaurant, and did not regret it. The food was delicious, and included a number of different seafood dishes, beautiful handmade pasta, and other meat dishes. Highlights included the special fish soup, and the veal. All served by friendly staff in the cosy surrounds of the renovated restaurant. There was also a lovely outdoor terrace, which would be very good in warm and sunny weather.

I have been in the hotel for a business trip, but would recommend the hotel also for a private trip as a couple.
The room was very nice and clean, so was the bathroom.
The hotel is a bit hidden in s small street, which has the advantage that it is very quiet and away from the more touristic post directly at the lake.
The staff was very friendly.
The hotel has also a restaurant with a nice garden area where also the breakfast was served.
Very positive experience and I definitely would select the hotel again.

Waiters prepared, professional but also nice at the right point, prepared in combinations dishes / wines.
The brigade in the kitchen delights your palate with their mastery.

Wonderful dinner. Great food — simple but well curated and executed food and wine list. Informal but curated service. Warm yet modern atmosphere. Among the very best around lake Como and in bassa Valtellina. Highly recommended.
