Loved our stay here! The host and his partner are SO friendly and made our stay exceptional — — honestly, they were amazing. Convenient location, nice breakfast in the morning (especially the espresso) and beautiful gardens outside. Would absolutely stay here again.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. It is conveniently located to everywhere we wanted to go in Rome. The rooms are wonderfully sized and kept very clean. Breakfast is good and our host was extremely helpful.

Excellent hotel. Silvio runs a first class operation. Fantastic greeting upon arrival and the rooms were spotlessly clean and large. The rooms were kept in excellent state throughout our visit. Silvio was available for Rome information throughout our visit. The hotels gardens were a welcome respite after a long day walking in Rome. Breakfast in the gardens also started the day off right. The location is very central, with bus and tram service to the central areas. I highly recommend Villa Matissa for short or long term visit.

Big rooms in a quiet area, but still central and convenient to all the sights. Trastavere is 5 minutes walk away with all the restaurants and facilities you might need. And it isn't as intensely touristy as the the central areas. Clean, friendly and secure. There's also a lovely garden to relax in after all the pavement pounding during the day.

Amazing stay in this beautiful place! Well located in the Trastevere, Villa Matissa offers nice rooms, tasty breakfasts and great staff. I've been so many times in Rome but this is clearly my favorite place to stay when visiting. And if you like the nature, you will be impressed by their lovely garden (small paradise) where you can enjoy your breakfast or just relax. Questo weekend è stato perfetto! Grazie per tutto, Silvio! I recently stay at Villa Matissa this week and was very pleased. Everything is perfect — the staff, the location, the rooms, etc. This is a very relaxing place to stay, has high quality rooms at good prices, and is absolutely convenient to all the major sites in Rome. Trastevere has always been my favorite neighborhood and this is now my favorite place to stay when visiting. I even had problems with my luggage which Silvio followed up on and continued to communicate with me about — way above and beyond expectations. I am also bring a group pf graduate students to Rome in June and he helped me understand how we could stay there and organize the students into rooms based on the room configurations — just super helpful! I highly recommend Villa Matissa — my future first choice to stay when I visit the Eternal City.
My wife and I enjoyed 6 nights at Villa Matissa. The villa, the room and the garden is beautiful and very charming. We were pleasantly surprised that the room we stayed in was cleaned and towels replaced on an every day basis. On top of this, Silvio and his family hosted us with great hospitality and helpfulness — thank you for having us!

Very nice and clean with a wonderful garden. It's nice and quiet which helps as its off the Main Street behind another building. The whole place is also in a very secure courtyard. It's on the bus line which takes you in front of the coliseum which was handy. It also is in a great part of town with tons of places to eat and a fantastic gelato 4 blocks away which was rated as the best in the city. I really liked staying there and would like to again.
