This is a gem of a hotel. Historically charming and in a great location. All attractions are a walkable distance away. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast too. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful, historic and very quaint small hotel in the best part of beautiful Trastevere. The location was perfect for touring the fascinating area of Trastevere and all of Rome. We enjoyed a very comfortable 5 night stay in a very spacious room with a fantastic private terrace. The terrace was the perfect place to relax between excursions or sip wine or a nice drink in the evening. Wonderful memories!

Without a doubt, this hotel is the best kept secret in Rome. Our accommodations this past week in the Vite suite were extremely clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was luxurious and large. The Trastevere neighborhood was lively and fun with great restaurants, but Le Clarisse is nestled in a spot that blocks out all ambient noise for a perfect night's rest. Easy access to taxis and street cars, and wonderful breakfasts. Our only regret is that we could only stay one week.

Bring the leash for the scarfaggio (cockroaches)! Didn't intend to, but made a mistake, and prepaid for 4 nights starting 6/25/18. After a day of traveling, arrived at hotel at 1am 6/26, checked in, and discovered a big cockroach around 1:15am. Immediately decided to switch hotels, didn't use room. Front desk clerk wasn't sure what a cockroach was, and at that hour, I wasn't about to decide how many were in the room — there are always more — never just one. Regardless, offered to pay for 1 night and requested 3 nights' refund — which the manager, Rasha, denied. Believe my compromise was very reasonable. Be warned, not only do you have to be concerned about cleanliness, but management/ownership is NOT very reasonable.

We stayed here for 4 nights in February, in the room "il limone". When we first arrived, the staff were very friendly and helpful and talked us through all the local transport, how to get to the city centre and recommended what times to go to attractions etc. Staff were lovely for the whole duration of our stay, always wishing us a pleasant day or nice evening as we left, and welcomed us back when we returned. Our room was just what we needed, nice comfy bed, a TV in the corner and a bathroom with huge shower. I would say it wasn't the most luxurious room, but all we ask for is a clean and well-kept space, which is what we had. The only problem was that when using the shower, it would leak somewhere near the floor and flood the bathroom, but the cleaners kindly cleared it up for us. Breakfast is great here too, good quality, quite a range of choice, it varied a little each day and it's inside a little room that feels like a cave, which I liked. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in Rome, without paying extortionate prices. Don't worry about "being too far from the centre", the tram is literally right outside the front doors and terminates right where you need to go; foolproof!

One of the worst placed to stay in Roma. Avoid at all costs. Staff are rude. They've changed my room 4 times, every night I've slept in a different room. Today I was out and they changed my room without asking me. Moved my stuff without consent. Horrible place to stay. Never make this mistake.

Sorry my star rating was wrong I enjoyed and liked the place and have stayed before and would do so again I like the ambience and location is great for exploring the city. Don't miss using local restaurants, good and good value in Trastevere and the river busnot far awaty.

This was a lovely place to stay — intimate, cool in very hot Rome weather, lovely courtyard to sit and sip a wine in the evening, very helpful reception staff and located in a delightful part of Rome close to good restaurants. Breakfast was served in a lovely room at lower ground floor level which may not suit everyone but you can bring your selection up the steps into the courtyard and have it under the shady trees. The choices were varied and catered for all tastes. The room was spacious with separate bathroom up a couple of steps and all facilities were immaculately clean.

The staff is great, amazing service! The breakfast is simple but good and at a very good price. The rooms and the building need maintenance but overall for the price and the location is great!

Great little place in the middle of Trastevere! This neighborhood is known for being the best for eating out in Rome. The rooms were a great bargain for the price paid. My five star review reflects on price/quality deal you get for being in this location. We’ll be back in the future!

My husband and I had a stay at this hotel in May 2017. All aspects were great — — location, cleanliness, 24-hour staff at front desk, visual beauty, etc. I recommend it to anyone who is okay with a small hotel environment.

Small, quaint and historic. Quiet and a great location. Front desk and door staffed 24x7. Nice breakfast buffet with coffee.

A wonderful place. Easy to get to in a quiet area compared to the busy streets of Rome. Its only 1+ km from the major sights. The streets do offer some noise but you get used to it quickly. This is the first hotel of this price range that really looks and feels like the photos. With a mix of modern and old Roman. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants just a short walk away you wont want to leave this gem of a hotel. I am going back!

Though there are something not good enough, like Wi-Fi, charge breakfast, I had a pleasant stay in roma. High recommend!

I have returned to the UK today following a 3 night stay with a friend and our two daughters. I cannot speak too highly of this hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious and opened out onto a lovely courtyard with a mature olive tree and lemon trees and lovely seating areas. The breakfast was second to none and seemingly limitless! The staff were absolutely excellent in every way. Our smattering of Italian was not necessary as their command of English was superb. I have stayed in Rome several times though not in Trastevere which we found to be a lively area with lovely eateries. A minor problem was that the public transport was perhaps less frequent than to other areas of Rome. We would almost certainly choose this hotel again. Congratulations to the staff.
