I did not stay at this Hotel but only for a private party, in any case the property was closed just after.

It is ok. Above all, very well located. The breakfast service is very good. But the rooms are a bit crappy and the bathroom, especially the shower, doesn't work at all. Despite everything, happy with the hotel.

Splendid location that besides being in a splendid palace of the sixteenth century also offers a level restaurant in a beautiful frescoed room made famous also by the film "The Great Beauty"

The hotel has a very quiet location. If you like old Pallazzos, you're right here. Unfortunately the rest is a maximum of 2 stars Nivou. The restaurant did not try Ichleider. Breakfast is Italian. But on the whole it deserves absolutely no 4 stars.

Historic hotel, with lounges and frescoes, you breathe art. Great location. Ideal for a weekend getaway.

Common areas look very impressive, but rooms are poorly furnished (decor/equipment wise). Bathrooms were nice and clean, spacious for europe, and had hot water at all times. A/C controls did not seem to work.

Good restaurant in a beautiful setting.

We were here two nights. The location is nice because you go out and you are in San Pietro however the rooms do not deserve absolutely the four stars, they are very simple. In addition, one thing I did not like very much was that in the morning you could hear the ladies doing the cleaning in the rooms speak in a very loud voice and being even thin walls if one wanted to continue sleeping was impossible. The staff is nice.

Absolutely fantastic location, very helpful and friendly staff. Older building but great rooms and good price. Lots of space and parking available for free. I would definitely return again and again.

Avoid this hotel; there are better options and staff here are incredibly rude. Such a shame as it has potential to be a great place. There is a female receptionist in particular who has no business working in the hospitality business as she berates guests. Stayed here because my uncle who runs a travel agency suggested it due to location. Will not be staying here again and will suggest he not send clients here either.

Bed was very uncomfortable small and old. The rest of the room was old but was expected. Beautiful 600 year old details throughout hotel. St. Peters at front doorstep. Breakfast was terrible unless you like only yogurt, dry cereal and apples. Front desk very kind and helpful.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is vintage, so if you are looking for something modern this is not your hotel in Rome. The room is not extra large but if comfortable, clean and overlooking a beautiful interior garden. Breakfast is good, not a super buffet but has everything (juices, cereals, fruits, cheese, ham, eggs, breads and sweets) is a recommended hotel.

Hotel in old building very elegant. Dinner Buffet in the Great Hall of the fireplace. Good appetizers and sparkling wine. First disappointing. Good desserts.

I got to try it. Hotel kitchen and I have to say of a great level.

Stayed here three nights, we ate in the restaurant the first night, it's a little pricy but good food. The room is nice it's a sizeable room with a great view of the dome of St. Peter's Basilica. We had a 4th floor room. The staff is very nice and I found the room to be clean. I gave it 4 stars because the bed is shot and needs replaced and the shower is just to small. Other than that I would stay here again. They also have off street secure parking, that was the first reason we booked here.

It was a very enjoyable stay that me and my partner had here. We liked our room and the facilities. The staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English although I tried a few words of pidgin Italian! I would recommend this hotel for St Peters basilica and the Vatican you literally fall out of here and you are on the Vatican doorstep.

Wonderful location only a short walk to Vatican, Beautiful Old Historic building. Rooms comfortable, Air Con noises but works. Breakfast continental and plentiful. Easy transfer from Rome Campino Airport. Would definately stay there again.

I was at the Columbus Hotel for a birthday party held in one of their elegant and majestic halls. Excellent reception of the staff and exquisite food in a beautiful location a few steps from the Vatican square.

I thought the service was excellent, the hotel is open 24 hours a day. The room service is a bit expensive though. The location is lovely, since it is so close to the Vatican. The other parts of the city are not that far away, and most of it can be reached by foot. The quality of the room is also good, only downside would be the size of the minibar.

The staff is really nice, they are good English spaker and always available to give you advices and tips. The rooms are a little bit old that's true but in a typical and charming way, that's a great Italian experience. Hotel is well located for any activity during the day, a little less at night even if there is some pretty cool bars around.

The rooms were small and the beds were uncomfortable. The bathrooms had no showers and only small handles for showers in a bathtub. Also, the condition of the rooms was sub-par.

Fantastic location. Can't beat. Rooms are minimalistic but clean, quiet and comfortable. View of the Vatican from a 15th century window. Great old world charm. I would absolutely come back and stay here in this charming medieval times monastery.

Only good thing about this hotel is it's close to Vatican city, room was alright, elevator was pretty small, and bathroom was also very small.

We stayed here for two nights on two separate occasions. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms. The Wi-Fi in the rooms was terrible, but this old building has seriously thick stone walls. If you venture down to the common rooms, it's better. The beds also weren't the most comfortable, not bad, but I wouldn't recommend them if you have back problems. That being said, you can't beat the location. Step out the door and you're at the Vatican!

Palazzo della Rovere, really beautiful. If you notice, the restaurant La Veranda was filmed one of the scenes of the great beauty.

Quaint, great service, excellent staff!

Great location and beautiful historical interior. Many of the rooms however are run down. Also, the air conditioning is only in operation for a few hours in the evening. Sadly the system can simply blow hot and humid air for hours instead of cooling the room. Many of our group complained that the rooms at night were very uncomfortable. Time for a new system to cool the facility.

Unfortunately, I can not have good rating, because for me and my family it was not a nice stay. We are of the Toscana from here in this Hotel, at the time it was very, very hot. The location appeared, and very good, but since it is really right in front of the St. Peter's Basilica, but unfortunately, the really interesting and varied areas elsewhere. Who is not for religious reasons but purely for the pleasure of Rome, once visited the St. Peter's Basilica and the Castel Sant'angelo, and then goes mostly to other places, at least in my opinion, because it is particularly in the evening, there is simply nowhere something going on, unless you want every night in tents at the Castel Sant'angelo sit. Back to the Hotel. We have a German tour operator booked and so cheap, the Hotel was not at all. As a positive I would describe that it is directly in the courtyard of a free car Park (for Hitelgäste) and the staff up front is polite and speaks good English. A German TV channel, ARD, there on the TV also. Also, is the building, a former monastery with very great certainty, just beautiful! The rooms inside are fantastically decorated and equipped, especially the ceiling of the Breakfast room. But unfortunately, it depends not only on the eye, and the Negative outweighs.

A/C we did not use because of normal temp in January. Staff is friendly, helpfull and speaks perfectly english. Breakfast has a good variety, is fresh and tastes very well. Atrium with trees is a small oasis. Price is ok. From the station termini the hotel is reachable very easily by an express bus. Hints: We used the free internet once at the PCs in the reception hall and it was fast. Wifi in the rooms can be slow because of the thick walls of the old building. Get your own alarm clock with batteries with you. The alarm clock at the room was not reliable.

Get your own alarm clock with batteries with you. The alarm clock at the room was not reliably.

The building is beautiful. The rooms lack comfort and are quite cold in the winter but ok. The beds are very soft. However, regarding the Wifi: I got my first modem in 1990. It took hours to setup and everything was very slow. Still, it felt a lot faster and more stable than the Wi-Fi in this hotel.

Credit card fraud by hotel staff: please disregard the reply to this email by the hotel staff. IT IS A COMPLETE DISTORTION OF FACTS (and as you can see full of personal insults as well which only speaks to the professionalism of the staff) This hotel was no good at all. Not only had the staff messed up our booking (after taking our Money a few days in advance of our arrival), but they also charged 95 euros to my VISA Card without my authorisation. Apparently, this was to send a poster we had left at the hotel to my home in Copenhagen. Postage for this is no more than 15 euros. Also, I have not received the poster even though it was sent in April. I have made several complaints and the hotel staff somewhat bizarrely admit fault, but refuse to refund the Money. I have now filed a police report with the Roman police department. Long story short: DO NOT STAY HERE. Credit card fraud.

This was my third time in Rome and I was excited to be staying so close to St. Peter's. The room I received was fair and breakfast was good and ample. The staff is another matter all together. This is a hotel where you leave your key with the front desk if you are going out. I dropped off my key and went out to dinner with our group. When we got back, they could not find my key. What could have been handled nicely, became an embarrassing situation for me. The woman behind the front desk accused me of having taken the key with me and losing it insisting that all keys are controlled by her and that a missing key is not possible. She then had me wait in the lobby while she sent a bellman up to my room to make sure that I was not lying and that my room was locked. Of course, this was all done in front of other hotel guests and my group of students. The bellman returned to let her know that the room was indeed locked. She then made me wait in the lobby while they checked to make sure that the key was not floating somewhere behind the desk. I'm still not sure why this was not done first. They found nothing. She came to our group in the lobby and made a big production about giving me an extra key and how I was not to lose it. At this point, I had had enough. I told her "Let's be clear; I gave you that key. " She backed down a bit but not by much. I went up to my room very angry. Our tour leader stayed down in the lobby to use the internet.

Beautiful building, Prime location being able to see St. Peter's from the hotels entrance. Staff were very helpful and professional. Only negative is that the AC wasn't strong enough to cool the room at all. Overall a very nice place.

An oasis in time and space and totally in character with the location yet with clean and modern facilities.
