This is not a 4 star hotel! Its more like a 2-3 star hotel. It’s filthy and stained from top to bottom. The wallpaper is ripped and stained. The bathroom is dirty, stained, and disgusting. The beds are thin and lumpy. Don’t even get me started on the smell. It’s like mold combined with stale cigarettes. This is the second worst hotel I’ve stayed at in Europe, and I’ve been traveling often to Europe the last 20 years! I’m warning everyone I know not to stay at this rat hole.

Worst restaurant I have ever dined at. Food was absolutely garbage. Cutlery was dirty. Waitresses didn't understand italian or english. When I complained about food and asked for manager — they brought me bill. Never dine here. Its disgusting!

This review is about the 'Sky Line Lounge', the "roof terrace" of the Hotel: I never experienced something like this in a bar or restaurant and I still can´t believe how this bar is tricking their guests: Me and my friend were looking for a nice bar to have a drink. The "Royal Palace Luxury Hotel" was advertising with their incredible rooftop bar and we just went for it. The waitress on the ground level was asking for our order and we ordered two Aperol Spritz, then she lguided us to the elevator to their terrace. We went upstairs with the tiny elevator, had to get out at the 3rd floor, where we had to search for the exit to the actual rooftop bar. The place seemed shut down and renovatig at the same time. I wonder how this bar can be part of a place which is calles "royal palace luxury hotel". The washrooms didnt seem like official toilets for guests. However, we sat down, waiting for our drinks. Found on the next level of the rooftop a few more guests. The view wasn´t special at all (was very limited), but we didnt mind and just stayed to have one drink. After waiting for 15minutes, I went downstairs to ask for our drinks. Downstairs they didnt remember us anymore and explained we have to order at the bar upstairs. So we went back upstairs to the bar. I ordered again two Aperol Spritz, the bar man told us quite grumpy we have to sit closer to the bar, so me and my friend picked up our stuff and came to the bar, just aiming to get two drinks soon.

This hotel/bar/restaurant is the worst value for money you could find. Understand that if you go here, you are not only entering the worst tourist trap in the whole of Italy but expect rude staff, poor decor and most of all TERRIBLE VALUE. I would expect to pay high prices for a cocktail on a roof top bar, if what I received was “LUXURY”, however this is the total opposite of our experience here. The staff were incompetent, confused amongst each other and completely rude to the guests. The toilets in the bar feel like you are going in a portaloo at a festival. Maybe a nice view from the rooftop would have made the experience slightly acceptable however you can’t really see anything interesting from even the highest part of the rooftop. I really hope no one else makes the same mistake we did in thinking this would be a nice place to enjoy a cocktail. There are some lovely bars in Italy, unfortunately this is definitely not one of them.

Warning! not worth 1 star. Read the reviews before you book terrible service. Rude staff! do not book in this hotel, they are not luxury at all, the title of the hotel is misleading to the customers, I noticed in our room that there is a cracked in the glass window and when I try to open the window the glass splattered in my face and hit my forehead, I asked for assistance from the front desk and all they offered me is a band aid because they dont carry a first aid kid, at 3 am in the morning I needed to walk from the hotel to the nearest pharmacy. Then the next day we left 7am to do some tours and we came back to a messy, uncleaned room and broken pieces of glass on the floor, no clean towels, unfixed bed. They have very small housekeeping staff. I tried to cancel the remaining 2 days left of our reservation and they told us "no" they cannot cancel it and I will lose my money and they dont do refund. The royal luxury palace hotel is just down right… t. E. R. R. I. B. L. E.

Hotel not 4 stars. Quality negative price. Excellent location near the Spanish Steps. Little bright environment for my liking. Breakfast Full sufficiency rating.

The rooms are nice… It's fine. Just that to be a 4 star hotel The details are not cared for. Especially in the part of the restaurant.

Perfect location What more looks like a pension and then on the way out we did pay a fee to see state in the City 36 us had breakfast included and didn't have breakfast any day from the 3

Hello. We stayed at this hotel (Royal Palace luxury hotel). Very disappointing, super loud, it's not a 4 star that's for sure! To put you in the cockroach… The air conditioning that makes the walls vibrate, the feet of the armchairs are made of raw wood… This hotel is torn apart. Strong Point… We're right on Piazza di Spagna. … But otherwise the city of Rome is to fall on the ground… beautiful Splendid…

We just got back from this hotel. Our rooms were clean the breakfasts were standard. Staff were very helpful, when one of us were taken ill and had to go to hospital. Restaurant very busy. Roof one not open at the moment. Renovations going on but not a problem. Noisy in the street Inthe morning but not a problem. Very good location. Would stay there again.

My family and I booked a 5 course meal for New Year’s Eve. We were told we would get a fantastic seat on the rooftop with a beautiful view of Rome and the fireworks: when we asked to see the rooftop before pre paying our meal, we were told no because they were preparing for New Years (ok understandable). The following day we arrived at 8:30 and were escorted to our table. Keep in mind we walked up a flight of stairs then took an elevator to floor 3 walked up another 2 flights of stairs walked through an area where people were eating and then walked up another steep hill of stairs. Let’s just say if we knew the hassle beforehand we wouldn’t have booked that table. Anyways after sitting down for 10 minutes, both my parents noticed their seats were wet and they had gotten soaked. The waitress ignored them and we switched the chairs. You would think at this point we would attempt for a refund, but it was New Years and we wanted to enjoy the night. After waiting 25 minutes we ordered our drinks (which were pre paid) and our appetizers. Another 15 minutes we got the drinks another 25 two of four appetizers arrived. After waiting 30 minutes for the other two apps, we went down to complain. We were given a bottle of prosecco. Finally the appetizers arrived.

Restaurant? Not. Canteen? Yes! Tourist catch!
Dish without flavor, electricity cut in full meal.
positive point? First experience: drinking wine in plastic wine glasses. I recommend for those who have no taste.
We will return to Rome but not here. If you are looking for real pizzas, go instead to Piccolo Buco to the Trevi Fountain.

The location for the Hotel is very good, close to major attractions and Metro. The Hotel it self has a cramped lobby however the suite I rented had good space. Probably there is not much that can be done about the space since these are old renovated buildings. If you are looking for fancy/new luxurious hotels you need to move away from Rome old city. The street itself is loud and music stays up till late at night and can be heard clearly in the room which can be annoying. The hotel offers a decent breakfast which can be improved, we tried pizzas at the hotel which were okay too. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Exceptional location but nothing else. Old windows/doors that do not insulate anything from the street noise or hallways. Inadmissible for a supposed four stars.

A 4 star in Rome that in Spain would be a 2… 3 at most. It is a charming place Q is a reconstructed palace and each room is unique in shape and decor adapting to the structure. Good breakfast, room service and cleanliness well, employees well… In general a note of 7… 8. What I did not like is paper on the walls, the black paint of the bathroom that allowed to glimpse the mold or shower, was only artichoke in my room, is not in all so PQ have traveled with friends and theirs was different. Overall approved but not as we are used to in Spain.

We stayed there for 2 nights. Location is perfect. 100m to the Spanish Steps, right by restaurants and shopping and very good walking distances to everything else. That's the best about it. Second, breakfast was very good. Great selection of cheeses, breads, sweets, fruits, joghurt etc.
The rooms were ok. Not 4Star though. There were clean but a little cheaply furnished and outdated. The window in the room was insulated good, the one in the bathroom not at all. AC worked as it should though and was easily regulated. The shower in the bathroom was small and we had to get someone to the room, to show us, how to turn it on. There were jet streams and rainshower etc. But it all did not work… only the regular water after they showed us.
What was most annoying about the hotel, was the noise. There was speakers with music on until midnight right next to our room. It seemed like that after 11pm they cleaned and reorganized the breakfast room etc. Which eas right beneath us. It was so loud. People talking and yelling up and down the stairs and doors squeaking and slamming really was totally annoying. This lasted both nights until around 2am. Also the bed was squeaky.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel 50/50. +Great location, good breakfast, friendly staff

Ate at their restaurant. Worst decision on this trip! Kept telling us it would be 5 min. Even 20 min. Later. They moved a group that was sitting in the worst spot, just to put us in it. We waited 45 minutes for our food to come out. Waitress is no where to be found, you'll have to hunt them down. Food was horrible. Looks good when you see it on other people's plates, but tastes horrible (pizza was the worst). Location is what keeps this place busy, don't fall for it. Find a better place for what you're paying!

Worst hotel I have ever been. The smell coming out of the bathroom was disgusting. The AC was not doing anything. The furniture was old (the bad old, not the good old) and damaged. It was very dirty and I just wanted to get out of there.

Not Even a 2 stars hotel, dirty and small, very Bad sealing and walls, when you open the door you can jump right on the bed, and the wind entering in the room from the broken window, the girl from the reception looked like She had a Bad day, judging by the way She talked with us. Very Bad experience for the money they asked and pretending is a 4 stars hotel, the pics dont Look like nothing from what we got.

Ate dinner in the restaurant here. Service slow and staff rude, drinks given without glasses, main course prawn risotto had so much shell it was inedible, it then started raining and we were left without any cover. Many other great restaurants in the area, so avoid this one.

This is more of a restaurant with rooms, but an excellent location, very comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff, full breakfast buffet and, of course, no need to go looking for somewhere to get drinks and dinner!

Once we arrived at the hotel, our room wasn't ready and had to wait 30-45 minutes while they said it was being cleaned. We entered room and it wasn't clean at all. The bathroom tub had hair shavings from previous guest. I had to go down to reception twice To request them to have it disinfected properly. After finally getting into our room, I decided to take a shower after a long flight and wait at the hotel. Reception has no air conditioning. During the first 2 minutes of showering the shower door fell and hit me in the head causing a bruise. I had to stop my shower because of door hitting me in the head. I went down to reception to complain. The acting manager was rude, not helpful at all. They downgraded our room as they were full. This all took place inside of 4-5 hours. We got into our second room and it was even worse. The safe wasn't working at all. During us taking a rest. They allowed a maintanece worker to walk into our room while we were sleeping naked. I was woken up by my girlfriend screaming someone's in our room. The room was small and the worst part was the wallpaper was peeling off the walls by the Windows which has BLACK MOLD and I have all the photos to prove this. Even the safe in the room had to have tape to hold the batteries. I went back to reception and asked to speak with the general manager. They refused to give me his phone number, email address or even his name!

Strange this place is more of a b&b than a hotel. Service friendly but awful, seems like no one in charge. Small room was recently redecorated but didn't fix the terrible shower despite an ample bathroom to have it done properly. Location is excellent seconds from Spanish steps but don't overpay get a deal if your going to book it.

Nothing, we hunted for dinner, and in addition the food is VERY bad, the service LOUSY and very expensive for what we ate.

Just got back from Rome Sept 26th 2015. I spent a week at Royal Palace and here are my pros and cons. Pros. 1. Its close to a lot of the tourist sites and on a pretty nice street. Lots of restaurants and Gellato stores. 2. The house keeping was so good those ladies were the best. 3. The buffet breakfast was lovely and the ladies working the kitchen were so sweet. Cons. 1. Customer service desk was a joke. The day shift crew was horrible. I had to wait till nightshift to talk to the lone girl working and she was amazing besides the language barrier. 2. The annoying music OMG! its the same nasty songs over and over and over from 6am and its gets louder and louder till 10pm. Its not a club and some people want to sleep in. 3. The free Wi-Fi never worked in my room and I spent most of my time at the lobby or outside on the staircase looking for Wi-Fi… as usual the ladies at the front desk cared more about their smoke breaks. 4. The mattress and pillows were so hard it felt like sleeping on straws. 5. The bathroom was ok but the shower cubicle was like a coffin and there is nowhere to place your soap. You either hold it or set it on the floor… ROYAL PALACE there's something called a shower caddie. 6. Am not sure if this last statement is something all the hotels in Rome do but a small fridge and a microwave go a long way. For long term stay you'll either have to eat cold subs or eat out daily.

Want to be "cool" loungish. Place. Horrible pretentious interior. We had the unfortunate experience the on eat on roof terrace restaurant … poor food, incompetent personell who forgot orders.! We wated 1 hour for a pizza on unconfortable Chair tortured by ONE song repeated on and on like a torture in Guantanamo Bay style.
We had the misfortune to dine on the hotel terrace. That although he was a cute place. The incompetence of the staff is able to transform into an inferno: maids cute and smiling, but unable to take orders and to communicate … we waited an hour to color band to get a pizza. Often we re ordered (which they'd forget.! ). Customers arrived later, were served before we all sat on uncomfortable while sulkies lagna of song (always the same) could transform waiting in a torture type interned at Guamtanamo Bay … mediocre food.

Terribbilmente poor owner unpleasant and rude, I would highly recommend not making reservations and read the comments on tripadvisor.
The owner incapable of handling the work pretentious but especially rude to the staff.

The cocktails are pitiful. And hot.
