As like most parts of Rome these have a fascinating history too. The views are stunning aswell.

It is always beautiful beyond the famous staircase and the ""BARCACCIA"" Fountain equally known it is very nice to walk in all its length … much more in this period where tourists are not as present as in past years being able to enjoy some specialties on the fly in the very local neighboring is even more pleasant and relaxing to see surely.

Beautiful and with few people is even more beautiful.

Great place to visit recommended to all young and old.

Great location to stay. Really close to shopping and the sites.

I went there in last June. It is a very beautiful area very near to the trevi fountain (about 5mins walk)
a lot of tourists, lots of shops and coffee shops in the streets. Veryyy recommended.

I like Piazza di Spagna early in the morning… or when it is lightly sprinkling. So, hardly anybody is there, or they are all running for cover. It is a great place to hangout for awhile, but it usually gets too crowded.

The location is excellent, and the rooms are decorated very nicely. It's a bit tight within the room, but the point of being in central Rome isn't to spend time in your hotel. This is a great staging point for exploring the city. The hotel is literally two doors away from the metro exit, and you are just a few doors down from the Spanish Steps. You're also close to many shops and restaurants, and steps away from the Via Condotti. Crowds get thick at the Spanish Steps every night, and usually during the day as well. So be aware of that. Otherwise, the be hotel staff is friendly, although largely invisible after check in. Presumably, if you need help you can reach them, as they provide phone numbers, etc.

A place of extreme importance for those who remember the "Roman Holidays"; is supposed to eat ice cream while sitting on the balustrade of a beautiful staircase of white stone.

Its hard to give a fire star in Rome, if you're being honest with yourself. If the five is the most you could expect, then piazza di Spagna is a sure four for me. As a monument it's not that fascinating, but the area its located (East of Corso) is simply fantastic to stroll and have a cup of coffee.

Great place to just stand on the sidewalk and watch the people go past. And also to gaze at all those branded shops that you probably can't afford. there's a McDonald's nearby though. It was the only place I could afford to get a drink at. God Bless America! and western capitalism!

Very romantic, but a lot of annoying sellers of flowers. It is better to avoid eye contact. They'll say it's a gift, but in a few moments he'll come back and ask for money.

In the summer (and it will be hot) the Piazza is very crowded with a lot of smartphone toting photographers who will be constantly in your way if you are a halfway serious photographer. So par for course. You can take a horse drawn carriage, but far better, be prepared to walk and dive into the side streets and explore. Lots of designer labels represented in the area along with some lesser known but excellent outlets. Photographic opportunities abound with architecture including churches and street life. Other areas including the river are within walking distance.

Well… after checking out some many tourist attraction spots. This is not my favorite. Spanish steps is located in high-end shopping area. A fountain and stairs… Lots of people sitting on the stair to rest. So when you take a picture… for sure lots of photo bombs! If you like shopping, this will be a good place to check it out.

Another must in Rome. The steps are super from above and top of downstairs without pun.

What to say. A square with an unusual shape, well known throughout the world, slightly sloping with a fountain in the shape of a boat "La Barcaccia" from which stands the beautiful staircase of Trinità dei Monti. It is almost obligatory destination of the tourists who come to visit Rome. It is almost always crowded, even during the night. It is very easy to reach by Metro, not by car. From it we depart important streets COM via Condotti, via Frattina, via dei due Macelli and Via del Babuino.

The fountain is beautiful and the place too, is better to spend early morning to avoid the crowds.

Rome Tour in 1 day?
This may be the first stage: once you arrive at Termini station, take the Metro A and get off directly here to enjoy the square and staircase. Throughout the stay in Rome I recommend to wear a T-shirt with the beautiful image in view of a memory bank and a selfie stick… Hoping that the millions of peddlers do not try to sell you these 2 items!
Next step on foot: Fontana di Trevi…

Very beautiful and iconic place, recommend to visit. Interestingly, there are still a number of good shops, such as shops with a large selection of gloves, always buy a pair of them, as well as "handbags" stores. And of course, the iconic place is the Spanish ladder.

You could go to Rome in the spring and stay all day in the Spanish Steps — Via Condotti. The cinematic suggestions are many and such to be projected at every change of light in a different dimension.
From the Rome of Papa Sixtus V to that of the sweet life, from the Rome of Sordi to that of Moretti, from the great beauty of Sorrentino to that of the controversy over the Rays. This square is always very crowded, I think the reason is because there are many prestigious and brand shops around… when we visited had many flowers in its staircases, which gave a more beautiful view…

Piazza Venezia is so much bigger with more look at that I personally didn't understand why evens talks about this. According to my husband is one of the things that's famous because of good pr. The steps aren't really Spanish. The base of the stairs might be quarried from Spain, but the style and actual visible exterior is not. It is huge, and probably beautiful, when not competent covered in tourists. This was one of 3 things receive said to go to. It's pretty and neat, but everything in Rome is. Didn't make the top of my list, but I'm glad we saw it.

I just only visited this place at night and is an awesome place to relax and walk all over the place. It is a good place to start the walking tour. After her you can go to trevi fountain and then to the pantheon in just a couple minutes. Places is very secure, surrounded by police all the time so don't have to worry to much at night.

Very beautiful tourist spot! There is a beautiful view of Rome if you walk to the top of the stairs. A lot of branded shops. Very good and romantic shots are obtained. Watch your bags and pockets because of the work of pickpockets all sorts of thieves. Crowds of Hindus sell cold water in the triroad, Panamki, hats, sticks for the salmon, the choice is huge sunglasses and all sorts of necessary and unnecessary things. The main thing is not to pay attention to them because it is worth to look at them and they do not distract, very tedious and assertive Hindus, irritate even and spoil the buzz… It is necessary to simply enjoy and not to pay attention to other tourists and these Hindus who climb in shots of photos.

A nice square, charming. But much less I would stand out, there are much prettier things in Rome for my taste. It has a fountain downstairs and a huge staircase and among them a flowering area. Plaza where important fashion shows are held on its imposing staircase. The main road to access the Plaza de España is the way of the roe deer, very elegant with exclusive clothing stores. At the end of this route you will reach Piazza del Popolo.

A huge staircase that makes everyone enjoy a spectacular view to say the least. At the base there is a beautiful fountain and during the climb you can really enjoy a beautiful landscape, also at the top we find other beautiful places like the church and the monument on the outside. It is also very nice that there are always many people sitting enjoying the art of this famous staircase.

A must! The place is beautiful is and must have. It is easy to reach and the nearby terraces allow you to relax and admire the scenery. For others the markets that lead to the trinity of the mountains and to the Pincio allow to ask or to give appointment during a group stay.

One of the symbolic squares of Rome, located at the end of the famous staircase of the Trinità dei Monti. The area is also famous for its many bars and restaurants that prepare typical dishes of the city as well as allowing a spectacular and unique view for an aperitif in the company. I personally spent a couple of hours here with friends and I would recommend it as a place.

Superb architecture is especially taking with its fountain, visitors lack respect by leaving the various remnants of their picnic.

In my opinion, there is nothing spectacular about this square. It is an oval-shaped square in which there are stairs where tourists sit. It seems that it is forbidden to eat on those stairs, there is usually a policeman there that reminds you, although there is no explicit sign. Other than that, on the perimeter of the square are the most expensive brand shops.

Such a romantic place to visit day and night. Often reminds me of the movie "Roman Holiday" starring by Audrey Hepburn. Been to this piazza countless times, and finally able to go with the love of my life in Christmas 2017 was the most unforgettable memory for me.

Very nice place with the Spanish Steps. Of course you have to be satisfied with the crowds, but you still manage to stop there for a while and shoot photos. From there you can easily reach the Trevi Fountain. Many expensive shops are found in the side streets. In eight you should just take the roses, bracelet, and scarf sellers. Especially the one with the roses and the bracelets are just to put money on it.
By the way, you can also ride horse-drawn carriages from there.

Another of the wonderful squares that you can find in Rome being the square of Spain the most famous. You are excited to see the Palace of Spain with its embassy and the Spanish flag waving in the wind. The fountain of the barge, the pillar of the Immaculate Conception are some of the monuments you will see in it and also surprises the spectacular staircase of empties into the Church of the Trinity.

It is a very nice square, like most of the squares in Italy. It's too crowded, maybe too much. Too many people. In pictures I have seen with the staircase full of flowers, but when I was there were no flowers. There are many luxury shops nearby but there are no terraces or locals to have a drink in the square, it's a shame.

Mythical place. But if you look really special? A long and famous staircase a fountain and brand locals for few. A lot of people. And vendors like macaroni.

Popular with tourists. Busy any time of day. Pedestrian area with no cars allowed. The Spanish steps have cleaned and refurbished recently. More beautiful than ever. Climb to the top of the stairs and enjoy the view. Sit at one of the restaurants and enjoy a drink or meal.

Bello Fountain pretty good, next to a century of tea shop under the stairs, listen to drink and a lot of people.

It is a nice pedestrian area not recommended for people with limited mobility. The stairs are very steep and to reach the top could be a little challenging. It is close to the gold mile where the best shops are located. Some nice restaurants can also be found nearby. From the top there are some good views of Rome skyline.

In the early look is worthwhile. In the afternoon also nice to sit on the stairs. But many people do.

Of course the number 1 point of contact for Rome tourists and a great place to meet. Lots of luxury shops around. At the square is also a huge MC Donald's also a great fountain where you can fill up your drinking bottles. In summary, you have to say a place where you must have been as a Rome visitor and which is very well reachable by Metro.

The elegant staircase consists of 137 steps extending over 12 different levels. It has an irregular symmetrical structure, which is particularly effective in May when the entire staircase is adorned with azaleas. Normally, the stuffs are all crowded by people, because not only tourists, but also locals are attracted by it, as it is excellent as a meeting place. Very elegant.

A place full of life that mixes tourists and Romans, an interesting fountain and steps… Endless that will lead you to a great view! And not far, the Villa Medici offers guided tours (in several languages) and really deserves to be seen!

Nice place! However, not only food and drink should be banned, but also smoking, as there are tipping everywhere which is partly worse than eating ice on the stairs.

A place with a lot of commerce but more history. In addition to the obelisk the pedestal of the Immaculate Virgin with the 4 sculptures at its base in front of the embassy Españoka are imposing and magnificent. Great place to meet.

Charming square with its staircase divided into 2 sides. The fountain is of Virgin Water (potable) and the tourists must touch the stream that falls to be able to return. Wonderful place to visit in Italy. Famous staircase that comes out in various films, The Fountain is a boat which remembers a flood in which ships appeared in the Earth and from there the source. Crowning the stairway the Basilica. And the day of the Immaculate national holiday in Spain and Rome, the pope speaks in the square and there are several acts. To get to the Metro you stop right on the square.

The square is beautiful and with a phenomenal atmosphere. Today was a special day as the Pope celebrated the day of the Immaculate. Huge security measures, but no problems and no hassles and with Muchiiisima people. Lucky to be there.

The retired grandpas of the police who whistle to prevent from sitting on the edge of the fountain are a remarkable addition, very very good idea.

Surreal! The monuments that line this square are all more spectacular than the others. Old vs. Modern. Everything is there and the view from the balconies is one of the most beautiful of the city with views of the ruins the forum and the Colosseum.

The staircase is one of the many masterpieces that are in Rome. I recommend coming down from the Pincio or climbing it to go. Bernini's Fountain is a work of art without equal, and the water is absolutely potable!

So beautiful, and a great view at the top, an amazing photography spot, for a truly stunning roman experience, this place is a must visit! The metro stop "Spagna" is right besides so great transport links too.

Loved this city break with my girlfriend, prior to our trip I'd heard the city was crowded and bustling… Didn't see any of that, I think the outrageous heatwave (August 2017) kept the a lot of people away. We stayed a stone's throw away at the hotel Mozart, Vivaldi rooms. Great city, my new favourite.

Beautiful historic location worth stopping by, but watch out for the flower pushers. They give you roses for "free" but expect a tip. Best not to accept the roses unless you plan to tip them.

My joint favourite place in the whole of Rome (the other being the Piazza Venezia)! A sunny afternoon, or warm Summer evening spent here, sat on the Spanish Steps, watching the hustle and bustle of Rome go by. What more could you want in life?

More stairs than a square. Very nice and atypical, although there are very many tourists. The trinity of the upper mounts — a French building — gives a great end to this perspective.

Beautiful landmark. Well kept by the public services in Rome. All shops and restaurants close by are very expensive but that is expected. Has a subway station and there are plenty of fountains to drink from during the hot summers. Great place to visit for 15 minutes to find out more about the beauties of Rome and it's deep history.

Nice atmosphere to meet with friends to relax on the steps or to stroll around the corner. Advancing a little is the tower with a statue of the Virgin. The pope, it is said, comes every 8th December, makes a prayer (before mass to Mary Major) and then lays a wreath of flowers. The firefighters come with their helicopter, and hang the crown in Mary's hand high up after removing the old one that was there for a year! It's beautiful!

The experience staying at the Piazza di Spagna View guest house was just wonderful. Tucked away up a beautiful marble staircase on the fourth floor of a lovely historic building the guest house is basically a hallway located behind an classic ornate door. Unlocking the door with the skeleton-style key felt like opening a secure bank vault as each turn opened a part of the lock. The location was just perfect for walking around historic old Rome and the view from the room looked directly out on to the Spanish Steps. Staff was friendly and helpful — this property is meant to be more of a self-service guest house than a full service hotel which suited our style just fine and made us feel more like locals than travelers.

I worked at one of your hotels and they havent paid me! Large corporation taking advantage of the little guy, dishonest, greedy and actually criminal! Is this how you treat your customers as well or just your staff? Maybe you'd care to respond publicly since the director of the hotel does not answer my calls nor reply to my messages.

It is no coincidence that major fashion brands have chosen to place right near the square their shops. The square represents a cultural heritage of inestimable value. Located at the foot of Pincio Hill, Spain has always been the Centre of cultural life and tourism in the city of Rome.
Unfortunately this heritage is not always properly valued by the City Council of the city of Rome: the square is in fact increasingly frequented by street vendors, beggars and Panhandlers that often cause inconvenience to tourists and public safety issues.

Excellent location. Close to Alll, and the piazza is full of All upscsle high end designer boutiques. Beautiful room, adjacent to the Spanish Steps. We have a lovely View from our window of the steps, and the beautiful piazza. Bathroom modern with ammeneties. Service was excellent, truly excellent! Did I mention very reasonably priced?! This is NOT a hotel, but rather a guesthouse. It occupies the 4th (top) floor of an apartment building. We've had a Very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend it.

Disclaimer: the steps are the most popular part, and they are under construction. But even with them, the place is relatively unimpressive compared to the rest of Rome. There are so many ridiculously cool places in Rome, don't go here if you're running a tight schedule.

One of the places most visited and well known of the Italian capital. With life all the time. Located a few meters from the streets most prominent fashion roman.

This beautiful site is currently undergoing significant renovation — 12 May 2016. I recommend verifying it's progress before visiting. This, otherwise, anchors or begins a beautiful walk route including Fontana di Trevi, Parthenon, & Piazza Novona — east to west.

A small corner of paradise in the heart of Rome. And then a step away from the most famous boutiques … A must try!

Insufficient: there is the bathroom bidet or shower curtain to;
Very bad cleaning: before finding a sheet to the clean bed we had to discard are some with bloodstains more with pubic hair.

We really enjoyed the central location, view, and service. We'd definitely stay here again.

Really nice location and quality for the price. TV did not work well, and no shower (just a clawfoot tub with detachable shower head). Area was very pricey and touristy in terms of restaurants, but being that close to Metro was worth it. Good breakfast!

The hotel is charming and full of every comfort, delicious breakfast with natural yogurt and cakes.
