Historic place has always been…
Prorio on People's Square.
Unfortunately it is noisy and "embarrassing", but it depends on the little "class" of people sitting at the table.
The higher price is fully justified by the location.
Great service. Too bad it's midnight… The 3 stars are for the vulgar and unhinged attendance of some extremely undesirable patrons sitting at a table.

Beautiful historic venue, refurbished a few years ago. Bar, restaurant, tobacco. Great coffee trumpet, good croissants. Prices at the counter in the norm, but at the table excessive, even if the view on the people's square pays the price! Kind and polite staff. Ice cream is not much but it is acceptable! The bathroom is very clean, a cleaning lady is always present at the entrance of the bathroom. A tipping container is present at the entrance to the bathroom, practically to go to the bathroom force people to pay something, even if it is free offer you feel embarrassed if you leave nothing! perhaps it is due to the influx of tourists who use the bathroom, sometimes even without consuming, but at the expense of those who have consumed. 5 stars for professionalism and kindness and of course for the nice local!

Two ladies next door were made to change the glass because dirty.

Good coffee and great service at the bar counter weighs a lot and in a negative way at the end of the judgement the state of the baths both men and women.
To say the least pitiful despite the presence of a lady who should take care of those areas and that in the bargain shows a saucer to receive tips that I do not understand how he can ask because of his complete inefficiency.
Nice place but the smell that comes from the toilets do not forget unfortunately.

Waiters are rude and laud. The woman at the bar was shouting and had a fight with her collogue infront of me. They kept me waiting yo order 10 min and when they finished fighting they said sorry we don’t serve take away croissant! I hope the Roman starts to understand the concept of costumer service coz they are f***ng tourism up with such behaviors!

Scam, tourist trap! The quality of the dishes really leaves desired and the astronomical prices attached note.

Good food and service in a fantastic location right on Piazza del Popolo. Just sit back relax and watch the world go by.

A very nice place, but that doesn't make it all.
I indeed still cross the price charged for a syrup supplement, namely 6, 50 euros.
Of the robbery, I strongly advise against this place.

The real Italian cafe on the piazza. Great wine and great appetizers. The perfect spot to sit is outside to get a nice view of the Piazza. As with all Italian restaurants you get food when you order wine. We visited at about midnight and they were about to close but they served us with no fuss. We stayed an hour.

Good place to be in Rome. Enjoy an affordable lunch (€ 10) inside (walk past the Fellini posters to the counter on the left) and go with your plate to the garden room. Later that day you sit all evening under the heater on the terrass and enjoy a risotto met tartuffo (truffle) and champagne. Just watch the beau monde of Rome go by at the taxi site opposite the terrace. Free entertainement. Prices on terasso are quite high (€15-€18 for a pasta). But you can sit here for hours and enjoy la dolce vita. If you just want coffee, take it standing at the bar. For only €1 it's one of the best in Rome.

I went there with my friend on our trip to Rome this summer. The bruschetta, I know it's just an appetizer, but it was amazing. We went back again and made my friend have some bruschetta and he agreed it was so delicious. We had a lot of wine there, since we mostly went there to drink, and it was great too. Service was also good. In general I liked the restaurant's surroundings a lot. It's nice to eat there at night.

I put the note of three because the ice was excellent but the reception was not warm.

We stopped here for a lunch, good experience. The service was good and the waiter was very friendly. We enjoyed our meal and we left very happy.

It is always the same, and with time does not diminish its mysterious charm, of elegant bar in a beautiful square. I dare not sit at the tables, I leave them to the tourists who eat pizza, and I taste at the desk the Always great coffee.

Very well located and historical cafeteria, so be prepared to pay 6 euros for a coffee. It's nice to be on your terrace.
The deal is enough to "meet and it's over. " Of course, what is said to be polite, so they charge, are not.

This is not a restaurant but a real tourist trap in which we are malheusement fallen… The service is deplorable and long. The dishes arrive lukewarm. The staff did not have to learn to smile. And to top it all the addition is of the most salty. Example: a martini = 9.5th, a glass of Prosceco = 9. E. A bottle of 50cl water: 3. E. A plate of warm imitation carbonara pasta: 10.5th. At this price we have passed over the dessert and the coffee. Ah I was going to forget… if you go to the toilet, do not forget your wallet because lady-pee is waiting for you and the place is far from clean. I hope my opinion will serve…

A very nice place to sit and watch the people go by. Place is a bit pricey but should be expected given the location. The servers friendly but too busy and you have to beg for attention — hence the 3 stars. Would not visit again.

We ordered a Coca-Cola and an orange juice. We paid €13.

The example of tourist trap! 7 euros for a coffee, everything else is equally ridiculous and far more expensive. At least if you could enjoy a view… but there is just a big square with nothing but migrants forcing roses on tourists and expecting money.

We Spent 5 days at Canova Hotel and it was Great Small and Cosy, Perfect Breakfast with Almost everything very close.
Our Holiday was Amazing.

Rude staff: If the locale is about to close, you do not take orders for food and money (so many) to hunt customers after 10 minutes. Too bad because the nice location does not reflect the poor education of the staff.

Cannot believe how terrible the service is. We waited almost 45 minutes with empty glasses and empty plates and no one offered desert or a drink or anything. Had to go inside to request a bill, then waited some more, then had to go in again to ask for it a second time.

Took a quick stop at this inviting risto/café and ordered Caprese Salad, Fried Potatoes, a glass of white wine and a craft beer. The place is quite nice but the price is steep. Also the waiters were completely unaware of us for 15 minutes or so, when we wanted to get the chack and pay.

Visited here twice on my trip to Rome. First night for dinner, second night just for drinks. Highly recommended — beautiful food, great price and lovely atmosphere.

A toilet with a seat and a lock is the only reason for the 4 stars. Bit pricey but worth it for the toilets.

Restaurant/bar with tourist, the prices are the most expensive found in Rome for a sprite during our stay and the staff is as smiling as a toilet seat.

Good and clean hotel. They can do more with the terrace on the 5 Floor. Open a café with a nice view over the city.

I strongly recommend this place. Worst Restaurant of our stay. Not sympathetic, only pay attention to the regulars. Because three or four tables arrived after us and served before us. We left after 45 min of waiting.

Horrible Service! This is the first time I put such an opinion on a restaurant but there it is just not possible.
The quality is correct but the service ruins everything.

Great hotel. Clean and friendly. The rooms and bathrooms are small and the bed had the flatest pillows ever, but overall comfortable.

Very good restaurant, everything is perfect:
The white tablecloths and the superb porcelain service of Limoges, the meats, the pizzas, the desserts, the service and to finish the very correct note.
It's like a French restaurant!

We stayed in that place in August 2011 for 4 nights. Perfect location in the city and within walking distance from the Colloseum, the Termini Railway station and even closer the "Cavour" station of rome's (pathetic) subway system :-) The hotel looked newly renovated. Rooms and bathroom was very clean and new. Don't expect suite-sized rooms (as anywhere in rome) and the rooms facing the back of the building offer a nice 5m view to the neighbours balconys. But that just adds to the charme of the palce. The highlight is the rooftoop terrace where a (standard) breakfast is served and which is great for a chilling evening with a nice wine or refreshing beer after a long hot day in rome. The staff was friendly. No complaints at all, except the slightly nervous and unfreindly breakfast lady. ;-) We might have been lucky but best of all was the very fair price of.

We actually stayed at the hotel in June 2005 and plan to return in June 2008. The hotel is completely representative of a small European, Family-owned Business which makes it totally enjoyable. Breakfast buffet is completely European. The 5th Floor terrace was a wonderful place to enjoy the Roma evening with a great friends and wonderful wine. The staff was completely available and willing to answer any questions we had. They even researched some Italian history for our party, recommended and made our dinner reservations every evening, and always greet us with a smile and kind words upon our returns from our outings.
