Underrated hotel, deserves more than 3* especially with all the helpful staff and how clean the hotel is kept. Great for distance to landmarks and close by to restaurants and markets. Variety of channels on TV in many different languages. Free Wi-Fi that always works and lovely hotel bar with huge variety. Franco on reception always very friendly & helpful. We will definitely be returning to Hotel Montecarlo ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

The Hotel is beautiful (you can feel that is full of history) and the location is great (near Metro Station and 10min walk to Roma Termini). Franco welcomed us very kindly with great tips to start our journey. The room is renovated and with funny lights in the shower (great to set the mood and relax after the long walks in the city). The breakfast was served in the Terrace — delicious and with a delightful environment. We wanna go back to Rome and we'll stay in Montecarlo for sure.

Put in room 409 with no AC. Staff said it was being worked on but that wasn't true and slept that night in a 27°C room. Had to change rooms the next day after they argued with me that it was working. Not sure if they just don't want to fix it or something? Didn't feel they were honest about it. Second room was ok, why put a guest in a room that you know doesn't have AC?

Hotel interior is very beautiful and the staff is helpful as well. The front desk has lot of local info available at hand. Please ask when you check in. Although the hotel is close to the rail station, the monuments are quite a walk.

Hotel room was very spacious and they upgraded us to a spa room which was lovely. Breakfast on terrace was lovely. For the price this place was amazing.

Hotel was easy to locate. Rooms are quite nice. Breakfast was organised on the top floor. However limited options for vegetarian. Staff was cordial and could speak English. Its about 400m from the nearest metro station.

The stately Palace of the early twentieth century is well cared for, the reception always open, the rooms are welcoming and adequate to the category of the Hotel. Excellent cleanliness, services and courtesy.

I recommend it quiet without noises, the staff very good, great breakfast, perfect mattress excellent rooms, very good cleanliness, close to many monuments, if I go back to Rome I go back to the hotel again.

I liked how hotel. I was lucky enough to find a great price booking with reservation and they assigned me a completely new room on the top floor where there is the roof. Clean and friendly staff Also promoted the breakfast (maybe the room is a little small). Recommended for a quick stay in Rome being also close to Termini station.

It was a comfy place to stay. And it was nice and warm inside. However, the Wi-Fi is very spotty. I had to stand in the bathroom to get a connection. As well the bed was two beds put together. So it was an alright stay. But the location was very good.

Great hotel. It has old world charm. The building was built in the 1800's and it's elevator is over 70 years old. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We can't say enough good things about Hotel Montecarlo. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, breakfast was delicious, but the staff is what makes this hotel what it is. Everyone was so friendly, warm and informative when it came to helping us navigate the city for the week. Everything from suggestions on which days to visit certain areas, to setting up transfers to the airport, to making dinner reservations for us. We had such an incredible week, and even got engaged on the Spanish Steps! We would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for everything!

The location is very close to the train station. Clean. Friendly staff. Perhaps the breakfast could be enriched with more fresh produce, such as fruit for example.

Staff are friendly rooms are tired beds are so uncomfortable 2 singles together you fall inbetween he beds.

This very clean excellent attention, this verca of the Matro and the termini, the breakfast is well, only the bathrooms us very small, you can not move once you enter the shower, in the opposite side there is a small shop to buy snacks, water, sweets etc. The pillows are very thin and the bed is hard but comfortable but the attention is very good very friendly.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, they are quite close all the transportation services. Great for the price they charge. It's clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The furniture in the rooms is a bit out of date but as mentioned, for the price paid it is fine. Congratulations to those who manage it.

Wonderful hotel, good location. Only giving 4 stars due to the fact that there was a sewer smell in our bathroom that was a bit overwhelming. The staff tried to accommodate the issue by using something, but the issue continued. We just kept the balcony doors open as much as possible and it helped. Overall, the hotel was very nice. Breakfast was not as expected. Just ate fresh fruit.

I stayed at the Montecarlo for two nights and I was in Rome for work. The location is great for both the station and the Red Cross square area. The hotel is not modern but it is well maintained. The room was decent and allowed a comfortable rest. Breakfast not great but quite varied.

Quiet location. The rooms are small, the view to the courtyard is not the most interesting. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. Breakfast is good.

The hotel is lovely. We had a very warm & friendly welcome when we arrived by Franco. The room was spotless. We had a great selection for breakfast. The hotel is quite central, only about 20-25 min walk to the collouseum & trevi fountain. Would highly recommend & definitely stay here again if we are ever in Rome again.

The Hotel is easily reachable on foot from the station and is very close to the metro stations. It is spotless, really commendable, but unfortunately the rooms are not very soundproof which, along with a mattress a bit ' too hard, prevented me from sleeping. The rooms have a small LCD flat screen TV but they are not particularly bright, since it is an antique structure.
What disappointed me was the Jacuzzi: based on the photos I did not hesitate to pay a little more than a standard room, just to enjoy this whim! But instead I found myself a shower with the possibility to do the sauna (which is great) but unfortunately there are two. Also the vertical sprays that should make the whirlpool do not work just fine!
The staff is very formal, if we want a little detached but always and still exquisitely kind and helpful.

We spend a weekend in August in this cute Hotel in Rome and we really enjoyed it. Our room was clean, we had a balcony and a Whirlpool-Shower. We really liked the breakfast at the rooftop with its huge choices of juices and coffee. The only thing we didnt like was the lift… Our room was in the 6st floor and we had to take a very small lift where is space for only two people, if you are an agoraphobian like me, use the steps. The Hotel is really close to the Roma Termini which is a kind of Central Station where you can go anywhere you want. All in all it was a great vacation and we‘ll come back again soon. Wonderful hotel and staff! Franco went out of his way each night to make sure we knew where we were going the next day. He walked out of the hotel to point where we should go. Which was very helpful because we were unsure of our destination. All of the staff was very helpful and we would definitely come back. Great recommendations for dinner! Very pleased with the accommodations.

Excellent service and atmosphere. The front desk staff were very helpful when we checked in, ready with recommendations on where to go, what to do, and how to get around. Everything was clean and well maintained, and had a very cozy, old world character.

I enjoyed the cleanliness of the rooms, the staff pro and the breakfast. Certainly the rooms are small since it is a very old hotel in the neighborhood. But the quiet, the restaurants, the access to the monumental squares and the fountains, my permit to walk 9 hours on foot by all Rome and the easy return after the fatigue. I advice to know the city and for the quality/reasonable price.

Location decent. But not in the heart of Rome. Service good, but not great. Staff is so overworked, they ask to keep your passport at the desk while you check in. It wasn't until we went down for our documents after about 25 minutes, we discovered they only asked to keep them so they can confirm our identity while continuing to check in new guests. Overall experience was good. They have a 24 hour bar. So there's that, but we didn't really use these services because it's Rome… you want to hit the town, not be imprisoned by the hotel's bar.

Nice hotel, just a ten minutes walk from Stazione Termini. The rooms are quite large and clean, the showers have Jacuzzi functions built-in and the bed is very comfortable. People at the reception are very kind and always ready to give you every information you could need.

This hotel was well managed, a huge up from our previous stay in New York. Almost everything was well kept, whether it be the glass elevator surrounded by what looked to be marble floors or the naming of the floors. The included breakfast was great and we were within an hour's walking distance of many major tourist sites. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome.

Having booked online through a comparison site and I did for the lowest price we decided to leave without any expectation. Arrived by train to termini station, which is near and we went directly to the hotel. There we were astonished by its beauty and cleanliness and the same was true for our double room of classical grandeur. Please note that the reception is open 24 hours a day and the staff is very friendly. We did not use any meals included but the services we used were all perfect. Perhaps to note the slight remoteness from the Centre but public transport have various stops near the complex and as a result the remoteness is not felt. Great value for money.

Strategically located near Termini, room comfortable and quiet despite gave on the way. For the rest Hall modest and kind people and cost little, honest. To keep that in mind for future stays Romans!

The situation is good. It is about ten minutes from Termini. The correct rooms. So they put the air conditioner have to fight you with the receptionist (just behind have switches) just lit them if protests. The breakfast is very poor, little and always the same. There are many hotels in the area, the next insurance we are looking for another.

Only 10-15 minute walk from Termini. Rooms quiet, comfortable and well-kept. Staff friendly and helpful. Well located within walking distance of most major tourist sites. Many good restaurants nearby. Stayed here 2 years ago and came back for a few more days. You won't be disappointef unless you like large rooms.

The hotel was very nice and the staff very kind and friendly. The room and bathroom were a bit small, but if you are in Rome than you won't be at your hotel very much ;) (Too much to see. ) We had a great time in this hotel and especially Franco had great tips for us to visit: eg go to Caruzo, nearby the hotel, for great gelato. And most conviently, bus 62 stops near the hotel in both directions! Breakfast was excellent: all kinds of yoghurt, muesli and other grains, fruit, rolls, biscuits, cake, juices and so on and the service there was outstanding: coffee, tea, cappuchino, coffee with cream, everything was possible. The elevator is a must see. Even if you are situated near the elevator like we were, you don't hear a thing: the elevator is extremely quiet (although antique). We had a 70% discount on the roomprice, so our value for money was excellent. However, the full price seems a bit steep for the value offered.

Near Termini station so very central and well connected with Metro A and B, its strengths (best) of the rooms, the free services (including Wi-Fi, Internet), good breakfast, very nice and helpful. To recommend to friends and family. I think I'll come back in my next holidays in Rome. Overall: very good.

Location of the hotel is close to Termini Station, only short walking distance. Hotel staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast is not much choice. Quad room is too small for a family with 2 children, not an easy movement around the room.
