Ca Santo Spirito was highly recommended by a close friend of mine who was born and raised in Venice. Upon our arrival we felt it to be a warm, welcome and cozy as we noticed in the entry a barrel full of umbrellas to use as you needed. We were greeted by the owners assistant (Sangy) who carried our bags up the stairs to our room. We had a large bed, TV and free Wi-Fi that worked without any issues. The Hotel was wonderful, located just a half blocks from the Grand Canal and a short 15 minute walk to St. Mark’s Square. A classic old property in quiet neighborhood with charming decor. Our room was cleaned every day which was very nice and unexpected. The property was very clean, elegant, tastefully decorated in medieval Venice style. It was also real close to restaurants, a grocery store, banks, and several vaporetto stops for easy mobility from the airport or train station as well as to other sites in and around Venice. Silvia was an attentive and gracious hostess. Everything we needed was provided. The breakfast was laid out in the kitchen, where you helped yourself from 8:30 to 10:00. This is not a cooked breakfast, but there was plenty to choose from including hard boiled eggs, pastry breads, cheeses, salami, cherry tomatoes, yogurt, cereals with toppings, tea, coffee, fruit, dates, and orange juice. Silvia was there every morning making an endless supply of cappuccinos. The breakfast was more than adequate. We were also told we could use the kitchen to cook meals or the refrigerator to store any of the food we might have. My wife and I stayed here 4 days. We loved this place and should we visit Venice again, we would be sure to stay here.
