Ai Boteri Hotel

Ok to spend one night, not very sociable place. On a very very noisy street, could not sleep at all.

Pizza looked good but did not taste, but thin soil was dry. Tastefully bland to rancid. 2, €5€ Coperto (per deck) increases the only seemingly favorable prices in addition. Choice of drinks very poor. Staff fast and intrusive. Card payment (EC) was possible.

The hostel was our life saver! We had the worst airbnb room I‘ve ever seen (instead of a private room, it was a room for 5 people and it was just a matress in the middle of the very tiny room + the whole appartement was very messy! ) So the host told us (on the same day, on booking the cheapest room for two was about 250€) to come to this hostel! We came here, they gave us a private room (for 50€/Pp) and the room was very clean, the bathroom was shared but also ok! It is very central and a lot of nice places beneath! The staff was nice and we didn‘t even now the name of the hostel and we found it without any problems (it‘s the next house after the gelateria) It was our life saver and we had a very comfortable night! Will defenitely sleep here again!

Very hard to find the entrance. Looks just like a door with little signage. Not bad beds or room and nice outdoor area and well equipped kitchen. However staff are lacking. And there is no way to pay with card and no where was this mentioned before I got there. I also signed up for a gondola tour through the hostel that is heavily advertised there, as it was my only night in Venice. No one was in the office or even in the building to help me at the time I was supposed to meet them in the office and I showed up 15 minutes before that time. A number was left but was not picked up after many tries. While I was waiting for my gondola ride (that never happened) there were others waiting to check in for an extremely long time. Hours with no assistance. Another staff member who was off that night but lived there ending up seeing us and helping us out but could not tell us where the guy who was supposed to be there was. Because of this my gondola ride was canceled and though I did receive my money back it was my only night there and therefore this caused me to miss out on the big experience in Venice I wanted. Because it was so late I was unable to get another ride from someone else and it was a huge waste of my valuable vacation time in another country just waiting around for over an hour for something I'd paid for and is advertised all over the hostel I very unhappy about this.

Room quite small and dirty, no toilet paper on the toilet, there is hardly any water coming out of the shower.

I Slept comfortable and I found a place (which although it is old) is clean and super well located.

I had no lockers. The lady at the reception was rude and careless of what I need. No soap, no shampoo, no towels. The place is quite noisy. The beds are comfortable)

Location Good location. There is everything you need. In the shower a little black sealant. And in general not bad.

It is for me this a really hard review to do because the things to say are many. I stayed here with my wife and son booking a triple room with private bathroom. I don't feel bad about this place, although it has its faults that I will list in the queue to review, we stayed here for two nights without the slightest problem (in preparing the room they forgot the sheet on the single bed and the staff solved the Thing in 40 seconds net), the room we were delivered clean and nice hot (we slept with the only sheet in January). The bathroom, minimal, equipped with a shower with glass and not the usual infamous curtain, water and sink not new but clean. Given the price and the Super great location I would recommend it to anyone who needs a place to spend two or three nights. If you are instead looking for a super fine place the property is not for you. As mentioned before the structure also has faults. The hostel does not have visible signs so you can get the address and map to find it,. The entrance, totally anonymous if not for a small plate, consists of a shabby wooden door behind which you will find a landing a little ' dark. The interiors certainly do not pay the eye (carpets dated, furnishings not very sophisticated). The room very simple equipped (in our case) of a double bed (which I found very uncomfortable) and a single. The bathroom, also not very sought after, would need a renovation, as well as a bit ' the whole structure.

Myself and partner came for our 9 years anniversary in May 2017. Fantastic location and plenty of bars, restaurants and amenities. Afew mins walk to rialto Bridge and all the sites and roughly 8-10 mins walk to San Marco Square. The accommodation itself was clean and very old fashioned considering the history of the place. Always a staff member available at main reception at least till midnight. Room was a decent size, clean and comfortable bed, clean towels, not a noisy place either. Nothing really to complain about we was there to sleep only. Rather small shower, but hot water was running. You basically get for what you pay. Really enjoyed our stay at the Ai Boteri keep up the good work. And YES we will visit again in the future.

We have called them several times on the phone to make sure everything is alright with the booking, but they've never picked it up. Not sure, if I want to stay with them.

The attention is not very good.

Very old hostel. Bathroom full of mould. Room very dated. Also as downstairs is a restaurant is very loud until midnight — you can just forget about sleeping in this place. Avoid…

I was very happy with my stay at Ai Boteri was with my fiancee we had a very simple but clean room with no big claims the staff friendly and helpful they kinda direct us to where to eat and which places to visit will be back for sure Venice is a truly unique city.

Great Stay in a simple great hostel in a Great City we where really worried about a lot of negative reviews but we where very happy with our stay we have had a small room but clean enough in a very very central area of the old City of Venice we where there of the Biennale and we suppose to stay one week but we extended our stay for 9 nights and the have a kitchen which was a big big plus because we saved a lot of money.

Great Hostel in the middle of the City center of Venice near all actIon points shops night live and in street full of Bars and restaurants we have had a great stay thank you again.

Bed bugs or mosquitos everywhere, cold water for bathing, messy and dirty bathrooms, old and uncomfortable beds, no lockers at all.

It seems to me, like this hostel has a massive bed bug problem, which they do not care about. After my first night of staying there I had over 100 bites just on the upper part of my body (stopped counting at that point), when I informed the staff, they seemed not shocked or bothered at all. I was moved to another room but as I heard from people in other rooms, they were bitten as well, and even saw some of the insects. All I got was a lousy sorry, and they even re-rented my old room the next day — after, I quote: "the cleaning lady checked the room, and didn't see any". With that attitude, you'd probably have better chances winning a nice stay in a 5 stars luxury hotel in venice in the lottery than leaving the Ai Boteri without being bitten to minced meat. Two weeks later I am still itching and paranoid about every mosquito bite I see. Thank you for that Ai Boteri! Really wonderful! That beeing said, the showers incredibly nasty too.

Not a bad hostel. Great area near Rialto but without the fuss of Rialto. I happened unfortunately in the hottest time of the year. With a sultry heat that would kill a camel.

This hostel is suitable. It is well located. Each has adequate space. The bathroom is shared. Strong point: the terrace. Simpa for an aperitif. Weak point: the Wi — Fi doesn't work well.
The staff is helpful. There are also lucky to have fans available, not given in hostels and very useful when it's + 30 degrees. I have the friends meet. My three night stay went very well (compared to Rome and Florence, attention to hostels in these cities). Another detail to note: breakfast is not included, except if you book via their website. False advertising… They do not map, accept payment only in cash.

Horrible customer service. Our problems were not addressed and the staff was not accommodating whatsoever when we had an issue, which was multiple times throughout our stay. The bathrooms were dirty, the showers didn't drain, the toilets were clogged, we were promised Wi-Fi and it only worked in the middle of the stairway below our room, it was 90° every day in Venice and our air conditioning did not work on the 3rd floor and started pouring water onto the floor and they did not offer anything further than a bucket to collect the water. We asked to be moved because we were staying 3 nights and the room was miserably hot at 85° and they refused to accommodate us. It was a very disappointing stay, even for a hostel.

Cool Venice style building. Stayed in a double room which was a good size. Shared rooms don't have lockers. Bathrooms were not well cleaned. Location is good and has nice restaurants and shopping nearby.

I've been on a interrail (rather adjusted price) and is possibly the hostel with the worst quality-price of my whole trip. The man on reception (there are several but this must be the boss) IS THE closest EDGE WE HAVE FOUND. Don't wait to ask absolutely nothing more than what is right (a bed), did not leave us, nor leave the luggage before check-in in the morning. And if that is not enough, the beds have bed bugs, we slept there for one day and the two days we were full of bites to the point of going to the emergency room to give us an antibiotic ointment.

The Location that is 1 minute from the Rialto Bridge, 5 minutes here I come! St Mark's square and is easily accessible from the train station Santa Lucia.

My fellow Americans, this just may be the absolute worst lodging accommodation in this entire garbage continent. The @$$hole at the desk refused to give us the A/C remote for our sweltering, dirty, bug infested room with rotting wood. The "3rd bed" was a bull#*%* cot with a sorry excuse for a mattress. There was also no way to complain about the accommodations because the desk clerk went home as soon as he checked us in, so much for reception available 24 hours. We immediately booked another room elsewhere and got out of there as fast as possible. You'd be better off spending the night on the streets with a urine-stained homeless Italian man in a dark alley of Venice than stay here in this s#*%hole.
