Review of Grand Hotel Salsomaggiore 5*

Ok, the real italian job (yes, I am Italian). A good looking hotel but not more. Definitely not worth and not a real 5 Stars. It's all apereance. First of all, during the reservation process, all Rooms are without SPA Access. In the Room description must be explicitly written SPA Included. The problem is that 90% of Rooms are without this diciture. When you scroll all the Rooms down, you will find 2 rooms with SPA included. This is just to attract the clients with the "good" price and than charge them locally for the SPA. SPA costs 90 Euro pro day pro person. A lot of money for a small pool and not that much all. The almost all people we talked with are without 5 Stars experience. This is not a good sign for a 5 star hotel. There are comportamental leaks not justify for high end hotels. The rooms are not all described having a leaving Room foyer but in our Room there is just one table and the room is almost 18 square meter (6x3) … definitely not a as promised. Even not that busy for a 5 Stars. On our arrival day, the receptionist asked us if we want to book the SPA even if we during the dinner (in the city, not in this hotel) met some people, also guests of this hotel, complaining about the SPA. The SPA was cold, not working, but they wanted to make us pay 90 Euros! Crazy! Our Room was not perfect clean how everyone would expect in a 5 Star level. Some very big problems that cannot be forgiven to a 5 Star hotel The breakfast is really avarage. Juices are not fresh, are concentrated. Really cheap. About Salsomaggiore… Ok. There's nothing to say. The best times are just a memory. The city is in total decline.
