Casa Morgano

I arrived at the hotel full of optimism. Capri is so beautiful, and I hoped to have a perfect stay.
I was, sadly, VERY disappointed.
This is a vain, try-hard, silly hotel. You absolutely know that everything’s been done for an Instagram generation. All about the looks, rather than comfort or practicality. All the fixtures and fittings are really cheap. The rooms are bare, presumably to look cool, but are in fact just uncomfortable.
I arrived from a similarly pricey hotel (and Casa Morgano is very expensive). In that previous hotel, the breakfast buffet was weighed-down with fresh fruit, gorgeous fresh pastries, and selections of tempting treats. At this hotel, there were, on my and my wife’s fruit plate: 2 slices of pineapple; 2 strawberries; and 2 bits of dry melon. Because there were 2 of us. And two dry slices of white bread, two dry slices of brown bread; and 2 stale croissants. All prepared the night before. It’s truly the worst example of penny-pinching, it’s pathetic really.
At our last meal, we ordered crab and avocado as a starter (€42). The avocado was so unripe as to be inedible. When I pointed this out, the extremely lovely and professional old-school waiter apologised, and said that was all that they’d got from the market that day. So we moved on to our main course (pasta, quite good). When we got the bill, there was the €42 for the crab and avocado. I pointed this out to the waiter, who apologised, and took the bill away.

Fantastic hotel with great views across the bay. Quiet location but not too far from the town centre. Good pool and friendly and helpful staff.

First of all, Casa Morgano hotel does not exist anymore. It has been bought by another hotel and changed its name to Hotel La Scalinatella, of which we weren't informed. So when we arrived at the location, We searched for the hotel for 10 minutes and at the end of 10 minutes we went into hotel Scalinatelle to ask them where the Casa Morgano hotel is, and they said, it is now Hotel Scalinatella. There were works in the hotel which was very disturbing. The rooms smelled of fresh paint which gave us a headache. When we complained about this to the hotel staff, all they could say was we are sorry. One of our friends had to change the room because of the fresh paint smell, but the room they offered had the same smell and they said all the available rooms have that smell. Next day, I talked to the manager who was super rude and said there was no construction at the hotel, and the paint smell in the room was very normal because they had just opened the season and that they paint all the hotel every year! We ordered water to our room and called 2 times, we didnt get it. We stayed in room 205, which was just under the breakfast area. You start the day with the chair moving noise at 7 am.

It is one of the most beautiful hotels in Capri with an amazing sea view and partial island view. The food was amazing as well as the staff and service. Highly recommended.

Beautiful private location on the cliffs of Capri Italy. Magnificent scenery, gorgeous view of the ocean, unbeatable service, knowledgeable, and friendly staff always there to accommodate you by first name.

This hotel has been absolutely amazing in every way! We have been treated like gold and the rooms are beautiful! The hotel is so accommodating and so very clean! The pools are to die for and the location is right off the main shopping and it’s so very quiet! I love this place and we Will be back! Thank you for a fabulous stay! We are so thankful!

Capri is beautiful. Our family went with the intent to relax, take in the sea and Caprese culture.
The staff at Hotel Morgano went above and beyond to help this happen. Dominico, Carlo, and Luigi gave us recommendations on eating, exploring, and swimming/relaxing to our preferences. Not only were these tailored to our personalities, but also, they included insight into local family history, Chefs at up-and-coming restaurants, and their own experiences at these locations that helped us inform decisions. Their sense of humor and intuition into needs made for such an enjoyable stay. Come to Casa Morgano for a beautiful hotel, stay for these lovely humans who will take care of you.

The staff differentiates this hotel — extremely helpful in advising us how to make the most of our time on Capri and very generous making things easier for us. As many know the logistics on Capri and the level of tourism can be a major problem so we valued this immensely. Additionally the hotel has beautiful views and several nice pools. Only criticism is that the rooms are a little dated and could use a refresh.

Casa Morgano is a gem! It is in a perfect location and the pool area that it shares with its sister hotel La Scalinatella is fabulous and has the most stunning views of the sea.
We had a junior suite with fabulous views and nice amenities. Breakfast by the pool is included and it is delicious. But the best part of the hotel is the concierge team. Luigi, Roberto, Carlo and Domenico go beyond any other concierge team I have met and they always do it with a smile. They go over and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. And the owner, Mr Morgano is so hard working and just lovely. I would highly recommended staying here.

We loved this hotel. Stayed here for four nights in May. The front desk gentlemen, Roberto, Luigi and Domingo made our stay amazing. They helped with all our dinner reservations wherever we wanted to go. I believe they know everyone on this island. We can't say enough how helpful they all were. We can't wait to return. Thank you for making our vacation a very memorable one.

We stayed at Casa Morgano for 2 nights during our baby-moon to Capri.
PROs:
*the service was impeccable and the hotel arranged anything you might need from ferry tickets, luggage transfer, etc.
*amazing Jacuzzi tub in the junior suite that with great bubbles and hot water.
*great area that is not too far off the path but far enough the be quiet and avoid all the crazy tourist areas.
CONs:
*no working AC in the room. The staff let us know that since it was not the high season and temperatures weren't be that high during the day/night we were unable to use the AC. The room is very well insulated and was much hotter than we expected so we ended up having to sleep with the door open all night to feel some fresh/cool air.
*the beds were not very comfortable for a 5 star hotel.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but definitely wouldn't classify the hotel as 5 star based on American/US standards (more likely around the 4 star mark! )

Fantastic hotel. Beautiful setting with incredible views wherever you are in the hotel. Quiet atmosphere and away from the hustle and bustle of the Capri town. Staff attentive and will help you with whatever you need. We didn’t have lunch/dinner here but the breakfast was outstanding. Plenty of choice and all delicious. Rooms spacious, comfortable and clean. Can’t say anything more other than AMAZING. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back one day!
