Reviews of B&B De Matha House
We stayed in October 2025. Overall, we liked the close proximity to the garbaldi train station, maybe 7 min walk. It’s important to note that these are rooms inside an apartment and other people are likely in there too. The room was large and mostly clean. They had cookies, tea and coffee for the breakfast portion in the room. We could hear everything outside and it was very noisy even at night so we didn’t sleep well.
The bathroom was across the hall and we were assured we had a private key. The first night we didn’t have any issue. We left the door open with only towels inside to let it air out due to poor airflow (the toilet paper was damp after a quick shower). The second night we noticed our towels and toilet paper were misplaced and it looked like someone else was using it so we locked it the next day when we were gone and at night. Then, Another guest there asked us to unlock the our bathroom because they told her it was her private bathroom. She tried her keys on other bathrooms and they did not work on our bathroom or any others. Just an odd situation overall. Also important to note the shower is very small here.
Finally, we (man and woman) felt slightly unsafe walking around outside the building at night. We checked in about 9:30 pm because our bus was late due to train strikes and the building is not clearly marked and there were loiters on the street. We also had to wait a few minutes for the worker to arrive and let us in the building since it was locked.
Great experience, very good place to stay in Napoli. Good service, nice people, clean rooms. Very recommend.
