Review of Tramonto d'Oro 4*

I very rarely write reviews, but this hotel, the family who manages it and the entire staff deserve one. The hotel can be summarized as "absolutely fantastic". The room: the hotel is renovating their rooms, I can't speak for the older ones, but the new ones are high and very well done. All is very clean, extremely comfortable and spacious. The view is breathtaking as you can see the ocean, the mountains and the bay in front of Positano, all while relaxing in your private terrace or from your bed. There is a church to one side of the hotel which sometimes rings its bells, but the renovated rooms have a fantastic set of glass doors that completely isolate the noise, making the room extremely quite and peaceful. The curtains are automatic so you can bring them up and down with the click of a button right by the bed. The room has a good air conditioning system and the shower has a very nice water pressure. Wifi was free and fast (I could stream Netflix without any issues). Honestly, fantastic rooms. Location: The hotel is a little over 10 min away from Positano by car, located in a town called Praiano. We used it as our hub location to visit Positano, Ravello, Capri and Pompeii. There are few restaurants and bars at walking distance + a pharmacy and a grocerie store. The staff: nothing like a family business, often times you will meet Sra. Teresa (the oldest family member since the hotel was set up back in the 50's) and Carmela who are always attentive, nice and helpful. But all the rest of the staff is just as wonderful, making you feel at home. Special thanks to those who made our stay truly above expectations: Estefano, Anita, Pietro, Pepe, Agnes and Ivana. Emily sends special thanks to all (sorry if I misspelled any names) Additional activities: We had reserved a boat trip to Capri that would leave from Positano, but once the hotel heard about it, the hotel staff coordinated a new trip for the same price, with the advantage that they would pick us up at the hotel and return us back. The boat company (Plaghia charter — 12 person per boat) was a fantastic experience and will recommend it to anyone looking to visit Capri.
