It was luxury holiday on the end of July, swimming pool is really great and access to the beach and city center with shuttle bus is very convenient. breakfast was simple but enough to choose, we enjoined fresh fruits and sweets. Maybe we would prefer more vegetables. sea view from room was best ever we had. stuff was excellent and we appreciated that was visible they loved their job for the dinner we took close restaurant La Capanina, great sea food.

Friendly hotel. Definitely a 3 star hotel. No tea or coffee in the room. Rooms are dated, the Views and location are lovely. The staff make the hotel, everyone of them friendly, happy and we had a laugh with them. Hotel ⭐⭐⭐ Staff Definitely all.

Very comfortable. Although being a four star is missing details such as balm or conditioner for hair in the rooms. The bus service from the hotel to the center of Amalfi does not have continuous schedules and that makes if you arrive after 19 to the stop you can not take until 21.15 hours. And you run out of dinner at the hotel which is between those two hours.

Perfect Service and attention. It Is quite luxurious and economical. It Has amazing views and an amazing pool.

Incredible views. Rooms are dated but very clean and neat. Staff is wonderful. Very helpful and pleasant. Much quieter than in the town. Recomnded for anyone who wants a quiet relaxing place as a home base for the area.

Very nice environment but the room for twin sharing a bit small. Couples was given a bigger room but why is there discrimination. Food is good and big portion.

Wonderful location, away from the hustle and bustle and easily connected with Amalfi with the hotel shuttles. Unfortunately when I was there the pool was in maintenance, otherwise I would have put 5 stars. Parking is free and breakfast is plentiful.

Wonderful property in a delightful place, courteous and welcoming staff. One of the best stays in the region.

The place is old, but incredibly well maintained. The pool side is great and the private beach is small, but special. This place seemed to be quite special, but I wouldn't recommend here for honeymoon or party people. Despite the large swell of tourists and the road were chaos in Amalfi coast, the hotel bus regularly run and smoothly took a bunch of hotel guests safely back to the hotel. That was relief and even delightful.

Don't take your own car, they ask for your keys when you walk in, and you don't get any responsibility. They move your car without asking permission and if they do something they tell you that it could be you. It's not a 4-star hotel. Regrettable, it cost me more to repair the car than the 4 nights I spent there.

Beautiful facility, lovely helpful capable staff, and spectacular scenery. The only shortcoming was one bland meal and poor Wi-Fi.

Greta view and service! Rooms and places very clean. Everything was perfect. The only thing you have to consider it's a 20-25 minutes walk down the stairs to get to the beaches and main town.

I booked through Chase Rewards and we got a two floor "suite". There was a king bed, 2 bathrooms (1 w/ bidet & tub with jets), a mini balcony, a outdoor area downstairs and a living room area downstairs. The bed wasn't super comfy, but the AC was great (one upstairs and downstairs). The decor is definitely outdated but it was clean. The views were phenomenal. Literally the best thing about this hotel. Like amazing. Beware the hotel is pretty far up from Amalfi so you wouldn't really be able to walk from the city center with luggage or at all really, unless you're down for walking uphill for an hour on small roads with tight blind turns. The cleaning woman kept leaving the ac off when she left and it was hot when we got back to the room. The staff were pretty good in general, except for a couple evening front desk women. I assume it was the language barrier, but they gave us either incorrect or incomplete information. I'd recommend booking ferries to other places directly online yourself or down in the Marina because the ones they have are technically tours and have fixed times. They booked us one for 8:30 and said that's the only time they go, but then later we heard them offering a 9:30 slot to another couple and then they said the later slot was fully booked so we couldn't change it. They couldn't send an ironing board to the room because they said you needed to use their laundry service.

Such a disappointment! We booked this hotel to stay at on our 3 week trip to Europe for our honeymoon. Luckily, this was only a 1 day stop for us. We got there for them to tell us they didn't have any rooms left, even though we had booked way in advance. They could have given us a heads up by email or something to keep us from being screwed over. Instead, they brought us down to where the elevator is to get to the beach (about a 10 minute drive from the hotel) and gave us a room there (there were only 2 rooms in this building), which was directly next to the road and every time a car drove over the sewer outside (which was constantly since theres only one road in and out of the city) there was a loud THUMP. Needless to say, after that experience we will not be booking with Hotel Excelsior ever again.

This feels like the dilapidated Grand Budapest Hotel in Wes Anderson's film. Maybe this was once good — in the 1970s. Now it's just a shadow of its former glory. Actually pretty gross to be honest. The view is nice but literally any hotel on the Amalfi coast has a nice view. Go somewhere else if you can.

Location of the hotel while not the closest to the city centre provides the most amazing views. A shuttle bus up and down several times a day is a great service that is provided to guests. The rooms themselves are clean, neat and tidy, however are quite outdated, IMO a spruce up is needed. Specifically the bathrooms need the most work, showering in a bath with a shower curtain isn't really the best experience for guests. The facility of the private beach is amazing and we'll worth it. You can relax in relative peace and still have access to hotel Wi-Fi food, drink etc. The restaurant at the hotel is reasonably priced and of good quality. A very good all round establishment we do not regret staying here at all.

Clean rooms, spacious but not very renovated. The hotel itself is beautiful. Location and view is amazing. Never seen anything like it. Staff is friendly and helpful. Private beach is available for 10 euros per person and free shuttle service to the beach and city center are also available. The food available for lunch is better then the supper food.

This was a great hotel. Perched at what feels the highest point of any hotel. I believe every room has a beautiful sea view and also over the Amalfi town itself. We were half board and enjoyed thr breakfast selection and also the simple yet tasty dinners. They were always flexible too with ingredients and so nice! They also had a free shuttle bus to take you and from their private beach and Amalfi town. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to stay in the Amalfi area.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very professional and helpful. The hotel is fairly dated and although this adds to its charm it takes away from the functionality of modern hotels. Ie: patchy Wi-Fi coverage, irregular water temperature, no safe in the rooms…

Beautiful view. Something old, but comfortable. The friendly people. It has a bus that takes you to Amalfi several times a day.

Perfect view, perfect staff, when we saw the rooms and the view from the balcony we thought we were on a movie set.

Superb elevated views of the coast and Amalfi. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, including a bidet. Excellent breakfast, very good supper. Very friendly staff. Quiet at night. Free courtesy bus to Amalfi and beach, with option to take the public bus if you do not want to wait.

Hotel is perched high above the Amalfi coast and is well maintained, staff are friendly and helpful, and the views from the balconies are incomparable. Easily the best hotel we stayed at during our two weeks in Italy.

Excellent, we were expecting 3 star accommodation, hotel excelsior exceeded all expectations.

Views in all rooms of the Bay, friendly service and fair prices in this hotel of the 1960s, on a backdrop of bossa nova and sinatra, rather than electro lounge etc. Only downside, very comfortable beds. A must see.

The hotel was excellent the rooms were very spacious and very nice the food was very good and catered very well for all people with a different menu every night and the views were also fab. The pool was also very clean and the people were very very nice all and all I would give it 10 out of 10.
