What better way to spend a rainy day in Holland than reminisce about our 10-day stay with friends at B&B Ercole in June. When searching the internet for the perfect place to stay you never quite know what to expect but B&B Ercole exceeded all of our expectations and then some! Following a very warm welcome by Mariagrazia we were shown to our spacious and tastefully decorated rooms complete with ornaments and light fixtures made by Nonno (aka the amazing Lello). And, true to the photos on the website, the view was spectacular with breakfast served under a canopy of lemon trees. Since we decided not to rent a car during our stay we walked the waist-trimming 45 minutes to the township of Amalfi every day and took the boat to Salerno, Positano and Capri or the bus to Ravello inevitably for a leisurely and totally guilt-free lunch. Mariagrazia was extremely helpful and recommended several superb restaurants, a day at a nearby pool and beach (boat-access only) which all provided shuttle services. Thanks to Mariagrazia who is an absolute treasure and her wonderful family consisting of Mama, Nonna, Nonno, Zia and little Maria we had the most amazing stay in Amalfi and we will never forget their warmth and kindness.
