It was out of this world, the whole house, its public spaces and art collections, terrace, garden, spa, and the beautiful suites. And it wasn't just that, but the atmosphere, attitude and warmth of the staff. The way they went over and beyond any expectation. I will always remember our stay, our warmest thanks!

Perfection! Your own private palace; amazing rooms, beautifully appointed and amazingly spacious. The rooftop bar and terrace is a hidden surprise, perfect for sundowners. But the Palazzo is all about the people. Miriam the owner has a passion that’s infectious, with a warmth and generosity that goes beyond expectations. As she leads, so does the team follow going above and beyond in every respect. You can’t know until you’ve experienced it. Our thanks to them all for a special visit.

Staying at the Palazzo Maresgallo is like staying in your own private art gallery. The rooms were huge, beautifully appointed, bathrooms luxurious. There were lovely touches throughout and each room was different and spectacular. Our family of 4 stayed in the Odalisca suite which had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. A living room and a terrace. Just beyond the door to our suite was a series of living rooms, dining rooms, and kitchens filled with artwork, chess sets, and books. We loved wandering through what felt like our own private palace.
Breakfast was wonderful and the secret garden and pool were perfect in the afternoons. The service was terrific, staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make each day special.
The hotel is located steps from the duomo square, right in the heart of things. The only downside is that it is hard to initially drive to, as you need to drive down many narrow streets filled with restaurants and people had to get up from their tables and move to allow the car to pass. The hotel staff was helpful with this, however, and met us and guided the car through the streets, helping move people out of the way and then taking the car to the parking area. I highly recommend this hotel!

This is an absolutely stunning hotel, a former palazzo now filled with gorgeous art. Rooms are spacious and beautiful, beds are luxuriously comfortable and the air conditioning is the very best we’ve ever had in Italy…our room was actually chilly, which was delightful in the middle of a hot summer. Federica at the front desk immediately felt like an old friend, and made sure we visited some of the best restaurants in town. Truly one of the loveliest hotels we’ve ever stayed in—we can’t wait to return!

We had an extraordinary trip through Puglia in June, perfectly crafted by Alex at DG Platinum. We stayed at some impressive places in 5 cities, but Palazzo Maresgallo in Lecce was just extraordinary in every respect. This building was transformed by French owners, an architect and designer couple who created an environment that is so charming, original and unexpected that just being there was a highlight of the day. Our "Junior" Suite was not junior in any way, but also every corner of the hotel dances with eclectic art and design that I cannot adequately describe. The garden and pool was a retreat for a quiet breakfast and the late day heat. The staff here is obviously proud to be a part of this place, and were beyond kind. I would not hesitate to return.

We were four, arriving with curiosity and leaving with reverence. This noble residence, nestled in the historic heart of Lecce, transcends the notion of mere hospitality. The suites are not simply rooms—they are sanctuaries of refined beauty, bathed in soft light and curated with textures that soothe the soul. Mornings in the garden felt suspended in time, and the rooftop, kissed by the southern sun, gifted us moments of serene wonder.
One of us, our beloved aunt, had just undergone surgery and was traveling with great pain. The way she was cared for was nothing short of regal. The entire team treated her with the utmost tenderness, but it was the owner herself who moved us deeply—personally accompanying her to the pharmacy, ensuring every need was met with grace and attention. That kind of care cannot be trained—it comes from the heart.
Palazzo Maresgallo is not simply a place to stay. It is a place of beauty, soul, and unforgettable humanity. A rare jewel for the discerning traveler—and now, for us, a cherished memory.

I usually don’t write reviews but my stay here exceeded all the expectations I had. I’ve stayed in many 5 star hotels in my travels and the level of service as well as the whole property in general is above almost all the hotels I’ve stayed in before. If you’re staying in Lecce do yourself a favor and stay here.

We were looking for an authentic destination in Puglia. The Palazzo Maresgallo exceeded every expectation. From the spacious and well-appointed suite, to the art-filled public spaces, to the warm and welcoming staff this place is perfect.

Palazzo Maresgallo is exquisite! Impeccable and luxurious accommodation, and Miriam, the owner and host is gracious and wonderful. She greets every guest and assures them that if there is anything they might need, she will accommodate them. The attention to details is beautiful! There is a beautiful roof top terrace with views of the city with a full bar with a batender to enjoy before or after dinner cocktails.

What a luxurious experience, literally the best we had traveling in Italy for 3 weeks! Every detail is curated in such an arty and cool way. The staff made us feel like family. Looking forward to returning someday for a longer visit!

Stay away. The location is ok, the furniture is Godi and the owner Meriam is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE.
Lecce is s beautiful place but unfortunately her behavior spoiled our trip and left a bad impression.

Unbeatable location, phenomenal service, gorgeous pool and spa, and incredibly tastefully sourced art throughout the hotel.
