The best Hotel by far, a big room, very clean, the food was delicious, would recommend.

Myself and my family had a lovely stay at the fitzwilton Hotel, the staff were lovely, food was fab and our room was spacious and spotless, we will definitely be back again.

Had a fabulous weekend with the girls… everything is always perfect when we stay. Can I ask about the dark brown bread at breakfast… is it bought or baked in-house? Utterly delicious 😋

Could not fault a thing. Beautifully cleaned room, very warm and cosy, great selection of food in the bar and scrumptious. Staff all very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Just found the bar a bit drafty and chilly at times, but a very cold night. All precautions for health and safety in our current climate adhered to, felt very comfortable in the hotel. Would return again without hesitation.

Stayed in the Fitzwilton last weekend. Had an awful experience. We were beside a group of men who decided to start playing extremely loud music which started at 2am and went on for hours. We were unlucky to have an interconnecting door with them. They started banging on the door and rattling the handle. My daughter and I were terrified. Hotel staff could not control the situation so Gardaí were called by the hotel. However the men were not asked to leave by hotel staff. Also they had little regard for Covid-19 guidelines around the wearing of face coverings in public areas of the hotel. When I brought this to the attention of the female manager she said that she could only ask them to put on a mask, she couldn't hold them down and put masks on them. I checked out after that awful first night and I will never return. I was astounded by the way the hotel handled the situation.

Currently staying here, so far amazing, the staff are great, the room, although a little battered which is bound to happen after the end of the season, is spotlessly clean, and very comfortable and quiet, and we had a meal this evening which is second to none, my wife had a roast beef dinner, with the most perfectly cooked beef ever. Amazing food. 10 out of 10 so far.

Fabulous food. Fast service but the waitress would want to check the specials before she starts her day. Kept having to go back and ask.

Empty promises — ruined my mums 50th birthday celebrations!
I contacted the hotel to ask for additional extras they could offer in my mums room we had booked for her 50th birthday. I was offered some Prosecco which I paid €35 for over the phone before her arrival. I was also told that my mum would be pampered with some robes and slippers and that a happy birthday plate would be in the room on arrival.
When we checked in at 3.30, only one room was ready, that was no problem as check in was 4PM. When we got in, there was no birthday plate, no robes that was promised and no Prosecco which I paid for. I was absolutely gutted, I was expecting the surprise element for when my mum opened her room. I was completely underwhelmed as everything that had been promised to me, was not done.
We left the hotel at 4.30 and returned at 6.30 for some food. At this point we had been checked in for 3hours, which the hotel was fully aware of. Went to the room with high hopes again and again there was NOTHING. The worst part of the whole stay and experience was that I had to go and chase up these empty promises and chase up my €35 bottle of Prosecco I was also promised. I had to go to reception and ask, I was greeted unfriendly. I was given excuse after excuse that the receptionist never told the Porter when we checked in and so on, and was told it would be sorted. No apology for ruining my mums birthday surprise. The manager (a lady) was very rude.

Just had the take home dinner from the fitzwilton hotel! It was absolutely delicious. Thank you! Would 100% recommend. We had the dumplings (fried) pork schnitzel for mains and cheese cake dessert.

We stayed here sunday nite for the 2 NBC d time in a few wks and I have to once again we were very impressed. We arrived early and Louise at reception was super friendly and nice and took our bags until we came back to check in. Check in was as good the gentleman on reception was extremely friendly welcomed us back and all it was a lovely welcome we got. Room was very clean and spacious. I went down to the bar to get a drink to bring to the room and I have to say Michael in the bar was so nice and friendly and even a a chat a real asset he is. Breakfast once again was fab high quality ingredients over all myself and my girls had a super stay and we cant wait to return.

I had a meal for 28 people for my daughter's confirmation and the Fitzwilton Hotel was exceptional. The food was top class and the service was amazing. A big thanks to Colin for all the help with dates changing due to covid. I highly recommend the Fitzwilton for a family function.

I have stayed here for the last few nights and it is not a 4 star hotel as it claims There is no facilities, the car park is a joke We experienced inside noise and outside noise last night got no sleep. If there was AC in the rooms we would not have to leave window open to try and get air. Room small food was good that's about all I could say good about the place wont be back.

This hotel is far off a 4 star. 13 of us checked in at the weekend. 7 rooms booked and dinner in the restaurant also, approx 1500 spent. The waitresses in the restaurant were lovely. Service on reception when arrived wasnt great. The lady wasnt very helpful as to where we could park the cars and to how much it was to park over night so my partner had to ring the carpark himself to find out the info to ensure the cars wouldnt get clamped. One of the couples booked a double room and actually paid more then what the rest of the couples paid. We booked off the same website so I don't understand how prices for the same deal can be different, It ended up actually being a single room they were expected to sleep in. I went down explaining this to recieption as to why that couple had to pay this for a single room as to what we did for a double. They also got given a key card to a room that was occupied already, they went back down and had to change rooms as to which the key card didn't work for that room so for a 3rd time they had to go back to reception. Once I explain all this, the receptionist said they were fully booked so they would have no double room to change them to but a refund would be sorted. This morning when they went to check out the lady on reception said there was no note about this and wasnt very helpful. They paid €169 for a single room and service over all wasnt very welcoming. Wouldnt recommend staying here at all.

Had the pleasure of staying here last night, fabulous hotel, room was lovely & breakfast literally covered all tastes (incl gluten free) note to management… the staff are top notch so mind them!

Just on our way home from here, lovely hotel and staff, my sons to big for the travel cot but to small for the single beds so the hotel kindly offered a camp bed which he loved nothing was too much trouble we’ve stayed before and will stay again.

We had a lovely time there. Good food. Great servivce. We really enjoyed the break there.

Only there one night lovely hotel great staff very friendly and helpful weekend breakfast only starts at 8 o'clock but we had to go at seven thirty they opened at seven for us with a fully cooked breakfast would recommend this hotel.

Disappointing stay here. For a four star hotel not what I expected. Off to a bad start the moment we arrived. There is no where near enough parking so they advised we park in a public car park down the street (they won't cover your car parking expenses either). Carpet in the room we were staying in had stains on it, eww. Dinner in the restaurant was slow to be served (pate starter was full of pepper which isn't indicated on the menu) not to mention the flies which were constantly hovering around while we ate.

I'm not as happy with this hotel as I am with other hotels in Waterford. The rooms are nice, but small. The restaurants are pricey, but the quality of the food doesn't really justify the price to me. The breakfast falls short… And it's at the very end of the Quay, a good 10-20 minute walk from in-town entertainment and the Viking Triangle. It just doesn't quite make the cut for me, although there's nothing particularly wrong about it.

We had a great spraoi weekend in the hotel. The staff were brilliant, attentive and fun. The food was gorgeous especially the pizzas. Just a short walk to all the activities in the town. Also great price for room service. More than happy to return here next year. Would recommend to anyone.

Tbh, the rooms are nice the staff are nice. But the website is terribly deceiving. The parking is first come first served basis. You must park on the quay if you want to avoid a parking ticket, but you are then a million miles away bringing your luggage to the hotel! It is situated on a busy quarter by the main bridge in Waterford so all you can hear is the heavy traffic. There is no air con which is a nightmare in this hot summer of 2018. But they do provide you with a fan. I would consider this hotel a decent 3star. But definitely no 4 star like advertised on Google etc. There's nothing actually wrong with the hotel itself. I just would like to also point out that before I wrote this review I hadn't yet slept in the hotel. Just stay away from it and save your money. There is a green emergency light in the room that you can't turn off. I have never seen that inside a hotel room. We didn't get any sleep because of the fan and the heavy traffic outside and no the parking isn't a million miles away but it's still a good walk with luggage! And when I did complain to the manager. All I got was it'll be put on file an absolutely ridiculous response. Nice staff awful management.

Decent breakfast. The eggs were very watery though. Plenty of other options however. The hotel bar food (The Met Bar) was Irish and American food. The bar prices for drinks are very adequate and more then reasonable. The rooms were alright. There were no tissues in the room. They had a fan for us during this "heat wave" already in the room. The full size bed had a slab of wood under it which made it very uncomfortable. Also there are no sheets on the bed just a comforter and the pillows were not fluffy but not a big deal.

Only problem is car park very small. Fund no fan extractor In the bathroom. Otherwise Staff just lovely and friendly couldn't do enough. But I will be back loved the hotel.

One of the most spacious hotel I have ever stayed in with my family Extremely friendly, helpful staff. Stunning view of the church and river. I would definitely visit thus hotel again. Throughly enjoyed my stay in Waterford and particularly this hotel.

Nice hotel, located on one end of the main road. Very close to the river and all action. Clean place. Freindly staff. Good food.

Lovely rooms, very clean. Staff are very pleasant and professional. The guy on reception as we were checking out early got us coffee and drinks for the kids, very kind thoughtful gestute. Food in Chez K was very good. Parking is a bit tight and there was noise from the road. Great value overall.

The room was excellent and good value. The staff were good, friendly and helpful. The food was well presented, we have a lovely breakfast with lot of variety.

The staff here are just brilliant! They are 5 star in their genuine and friendly manner.

The bar has a decent menu and their gin & tonics are top.
My only recommendation would be a better iron. But I guess that's preference rather than critique.

We spent the weekend in the Fitzwilton, couldn't find a fault if I tried, the room was fabulous, the breakfast was first class, and the staff are great nothing too much trouble. Well done to you all.

I spent two separate weeks at the hotel and was happy with the experience. My key card stopped working a day before my checkout during both weeks which was rather ironic; however the staff happily fixed the problem right away. The rooms were comfortable and well kept throughout my stays. I are numerous dinners at the Met bar/cafe and was happy with every dish. The restaurant staff friendly every time and usually fast with the exception of Friday evening when they were packed with customers so understandably busy. I was a bit indecisive about my side choice on that visit and the bartender made up for the slower service by giving my both choices. Overall I was happy with everything and will gladly stay again on my future visits.

Nicely decorated room. Very very warm. Had to turn radiator off and open the window. I was in a room at the front of the building and with the very noisy traffic and traffic lights just outside the window we just had to close it again to try get some sleep. The extractor fan in the bathroom was out of order, not good. The bar was the most inefficient I had ever come across. Impossible to get service and only half a dozen people in the place when we were there. Breakfast was nice, buffet style and plenty of food. The car park was a total nightmare. Very small and very awkward and we waited in our car for the best part of an hour to obtain a parking space. Reception staff were pleasant though.

Went for a meal with my partner didn't have the right menu that was advertised after my partner was in contact with reception to guarantee the yum menu after receiving email confirmation went to the bar for food the waiter didn't have a clue and sent us down to the restaurant which sent us back up to the bar as they did hear of the menu and advised us we would get the menu in the bar. After alot of confusion between waiter and management we decided to go with the bar menu and after waiting to get our orders taken the waiter decided to come back and ask us again we're we ready to order after just 5 mins from taking our orders. My partner ordered the chicken burger and asked for it plain and that order wasnt right got sent out a chicken burger with everything on it. I ordered the lasagne which was ok wouldn't give it like 5 out of 5 but was sustainable for human consumption. Then after our meal my partner went up to pay and it took the staff at least 10 mins to find the docket. So in all wasn't that great really need to hire staff to be included in the different menus advertised and also on a busy night really should of had 2 behind the bar two on the floor food was too slow coming out.

Had a meal in the restaurant the food was very good. The service is as poor as I've ever seen. The waitresses where rude and so slow. We where waiting for almost an hour for our starters. We where never asked if we would like any drinks with our meal so I ordered drinks for the table and I told the waitress to put it on the bill. She refused and handed me a bill in front of my guest's. It was a confirmation meal and I told them when booking the table children will be there and to have a children's menu. The waitresses refused to give us a children's menu and insisted on them ordering from the main menu. This is twice the service has been poor. I thought the first time was a one off. I won't be returning.

Super Hotel absolutely fantastic stay my partner and I had here. The Hotel is very modern and clean. The Staff were all extremely pleasant and well-mannered. The general aroma in the whole hotel was very nice and relaxing. The Hotel was very warm but not too warm even when it was freezing outside. Rooms were very large and spacious with a brand new TV. Food in both the Bar (Met) and the Restaurant (Chef K) was absolutely second to none. Had a beautiful dinner in the Bar it was even so nice we tried it twice. Large servings which were well presented and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was top class with a large buffet selection of food and tasted top notch. Can't say one bad word about the experience a superb hotel at average prices. Would 10/10 recommend a friend and go back there myself.

Hotel dirty … bad odour when you walk into reception. Carpet filthy in the hall ways. Food tasted of dirty oil. Would not recommend this place.

Good hotel on Bridge street in Waterford city. Small car park off Mary street, otherwise park on Merchant's Quay, 4.40 for 24 hours. Good breakfast including berry smoothie, and soaked oats with nuts and berries. Friendly reception staff. Free Wi-Fi. We paid 105 BB for a family room on a Mon/Tue in July. Paid 149 BB for a Friday in August.

Spent two nights here. This hotel is well located in Waterford city close to everything in the city centre. Our room was well furnished and very comfortable and we had lovely meals in the hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The car park is a bit small, so you might have to park elsewhere, particularly later in the afternoon. However parking in the area is reasonably priced and easy to find along the quays. Would definitely recommend it.

Complete let down! Hard beds (would be more comfortable on the floor) and dull, out dated and unclean bathrooms! Partner went for a bath and was greeted by blood in the bath! There is horrible black grout the entire way around the bathroom and the border of the bath is nearly falling off the wall! Heat is nearly unbearable but wouldn't dare open the windows with the noise of the road at my feet! We have stayed at other hotels for half the price and they have been fantastic compared to this! Can't believe we have another night to spend here and would nearly prefer the 4 hour drive home than to spend another sleepless night! Neither me or my partner are picky about hotels but this was a severe let down for both of us especially as it was for my birthday : (

Fitzwilton I loved my room at Fitzwilton Hotel. The staff are all wonderful and hugely accommodating. My hotel room was quite large with a massive bed and it had quite a few TV channels to chose from which can be rare in hotels. The Wi-Fi was quite patchy in my room on the 4th floor which was a little disappointing. The breakfast was nice a help yourself buffet layout which I like very much, however I wish they would also put out fried eggs as well as scrambled because the are what a full Irish is about. I would stay at the Fitzwilton again but if you are sensitive to noise it can get loud in the morning as it is right by the main road leading into the city, we unfortunately had to leave our window open as it was seasonally hot in July this year. Still very nice and very good hotel. To the all the staff at the Fitzwilton thank you very much for all your help and facilitating any needs that I had, appreciate it.

Nice room. Can be a bit loud at night with the windows open (which they will be in the summer since there is no AC). The discounted parking lot has fairly small spaces so things get tight.

We stayed for one night in this Hotel. There is a car Park, which belongs to the Hotel. The car Park has very narrow Parking spaces! The surrounding area of the hotel is not particularly nice, lots of high-rise buildings and side streets. It is, however, within a few minutes walk in the city. Price-performance is right, we paid for a night 69€, the rooms were clean and big enough for 2person/1night, but not modern, or with Highlights. The food in the bar was good.

Put in a room with faulty shower drain. Spoke with staff who saud would get it fixed. No such luck. This is a know problem. Poor atitude to customer service.

Very nice bar, close to most things. Rooms were nice. However the rooms were too warm in the morning and no air conditioning.

Lovely hotel. I pop in for a cup of tea if I have a day business trip to Waterford. Wi-Fi always works fine. Parking is paid on the street outside but if you are getting food or drink you can park under the hotel for free.

Nice, clean newer hotel. Parking a little tricky if you can't find a spot in their garage (and I doubt you could). Just park in lot along river (4 euro for 2 nights). Very good food and friendly bar. I'd definitely go back.

I was here last year and I am going back this summer again loved it and the food was great and for every one there was great.

Myself and my friends from work had our Christmas night in this hotel the staff were great as was the food it was fabulous the staff could not do enough for us so I decided to book my sons 21st there it was a fantastic night every one at the party said they it was a great night the staff made sure everyone was looked after so I would recommend the fiztwilton hotel as we will be having plenty more nights there thanks to Geoff and all the staff.

No air conditioning, room was too hot hard to sleep, breakfast was decent.

We arrived here wednesday and was taken care of your receptionist called katie she was very kind and looked after us very well she made us feel welcome. We booked to have your breakfast for both mornings of our stay I have to say the breakfast was everything I expected it to be. The family bedroom was very comfortable and cosy. I only have 1 complaint about my stay the room got very warm in the night so had to sleep with window open that meant leaving the curtains open consently throughout the 2 nights stay. other then that my self and my partner really enjoyed it.

Horrible place, The person I was staying with received a fine for smoking and we were not smoking I know for a fact it was a person on my floor as they told me, Very loud place cant sleep. Bad service, bad food and to top that there was also a drug dealer standing on the hotel corner. Avoid this hotel.
