I loved how the rooms were still period looking rooms anything we asked for we got, they were very helpful and would definitely go back again.

Very nice and hot clean great staff lovely hotel in the town.

We stayed for 2 nights our room was huge with antique furniture. Comfortable quiet and warm with a flat screen TV. Kettle and iron and board. The bathroom had copious amounts of hot water and great water pressure. Breakfast was lovely and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and professional.

Awful food and awful staff in the breakfast room went there to a nice weekend, down in the breakfast with some awful food staff that doesn’t let you finish and takes the plate. As education the 2 plates go off at the same time in a table with 2 people. Is a definitely a no no in this hotel. Reception staff amazing, amazing bedroom and bar but needs big improvement in the breakfast room.

Travelled by train. 3 mins from station… A very friendly welcome … Staff were so helpful. Breakfast was fabulous … Would certainly recommend this Hotel …

This was a return visit for us and it was nicer than we remembered. Everyone is so pleasant and accommodating.
We can walk to all the shops!

A wonderful respite from the chain hotels, this family run luxury hotel in the centre of Killarney is just fabulous! Spacious and comfortable rooms, air conditioning, gorgeous bathroom and huge bed. Downstairs lounges and fantastic bar. Warm, friendly and attentive staff, this was a short visit but can’t wait to return!

We had a very nice experience here. The beds were comfortable and the room was nice. The staff was really friendly. The lady at the front desk brought us our own tea by the fire which made for a special experience. Great breakfast too.

Comfortable elegance. The entire experience at Arbutrus Hotel Killarney was spectacular. The best for me was a hot tea and gingerbread happy hour in the parlor. Rooms were comfortable and all staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.

Wonderful old hotel. My kids loved the fact that you opened the room door with a key. The staff are very friendly. Michelle at the front desk helped us plan our day out. Margaret and Betty are great too.

Wonderful hotel — just back from an amazing stay with my Dad. The hotel is so quaint and has a beautiful old worldly style. The staff, especially Michelle, Katie and Betty, made our stay that much more enjoyable. Our complimentary tea and gingerbread was delectable and such a nice touch in the stunning drawing room. We upgraded to a superior room for a very small price and we were so impressed. I would highly recommend the Arbutus, it’s 5 minutes from the train station and in the heart of the town. We have already gushed about our stay to family and friends and can’t wait to return! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel. Very gracious staff with excellent service. We arrived early and were served tea and toast while waiting for our room. The room was lovely overlooking beautiful Killarney. The bar was quaint and cozy. I would definitely stay again.

Well situated with a lovely pot of tea and ginger cake on arrival of you request it. Our room didn't have the greatest view, but the price wasn't for luxury either. There is a bar to the side of the hotel that can get very noisy although for tourists it may be great if you can avoid the lecherous old trolls who seemed to hang out there while we visited. The bar is pretty decent by the way. Room was clean and comfortable, staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast was great, with lots of choice and plenty of homemade jam.

We stayed here about 2 years ago. We loved this quaint hotel. It is family owned and operated! Fresh Gingerbread greets you with a lovely cuppa of Irish tea (I've become addicted and order it on line now)! The room wasn't huge, but we're traveling, so we're not in the room that long. Bathroom and room were clean and BIG PLUS, they left the heat on for us! (Many hotels and B&Bs in Ireland turn off their heat during the night… it gets pretty chilly, trust me! ). They did have wash rags too, which is uncommon in Europe (they expect you to carry your own)! Friends front desk (one of the owners), lovely sitting room. Greatly enjoyed it here!

Nice and clean central location good food and nice music in the bar.

The soap for the bathroom smelled like pledge. Rooms have pretty this walls. Staff is nice and breakfast is really good.

We had a lovely trad session with Mike Brosnan and friends great musicians.

Stay here on the July 21 and 22, staff was awesome! I asked if our room was facing the back and she said yes but she said she could move us if we wanted so of course we said yes! Moved us to the front and it was a great room! The staff is so friendly and accommodating! I loved the decor of the hotel, and the ambience! The only complaint I have is the parking but there is not much they can do about that when the are right in the centre of town! I would stay there again if we come back to Ireland!

The staff was fantastic. The hotel itself is an historic gem with eloquent style, antique furniture adorning every hallway and stairway landing! The dining is fabulous, with white linen adorning every table… even for breakfast, not to mention the delicious cuisine! The rooms are large and very clean! The bathrooms have gorgeous tile walls and floors… I just can't describe how wonderful this "home away from home" is, you must see for yourself! This has everything (and more) a Five Star hotel possesses! You won't regret your stay here!

There is a carnival immediately outside our rooms in the back of this hotel. If you can deal with loud music, people screaming, and bumper cars until 11:30 p. M. Or so, than this place is for you. If not, you need to find a different place. The location is good as far as being in the heart of downtown, but terrible if you need to sleep. Some of the rooms have no air conditioning, and it can get hot sometimes, as it is now.

Fantastic family run Hotel. Old world charm. Staff friendliest, nothing too much to ask for. Beautiful old world decor. Wallpapers carpets furnishings all kept immaculate. Breakfast absolutely fabulous and the staff. Again so nice … the var also a great place to have a drink and a beautiful pint of Guinness. Staff here also just the nicest. We will definitely be back.

Location is great, staff was very friendly and everything was clean but blankets were not comfortable/pathetic, the floor makes so much noise when people walk in the hall (like an old creaky staircase) and the Wi-Fi is very weak (unless you stand outside your room).

We had a fantastic weekend when we stayed in the Arbutus Hotel. From the moment we stepped inside we were greeted with very genuine greetings and made to feel extremely welcome and relaxed. As for the room we were given. Wow!. Old style but plush and so clean. We were in our room for maybe ten mins when we received a phone call from the front desk asking if we were happy with the room and if there was anything we needed!. Now that's a great introduction to a very well tuned in hotel to their customers. After that when we strolled down stairs we were offered complementary tea r coffee with freshly homemade scones. And yes they were freshly homemade lol. The atmosphere in this fantastic hotel is so relaxed and unhindered nothing is a problem and the staff are just out on their own. No Scolls seen all weekend now that definitely makes a change. We had our dinner in the bar the first night and it was second to none. Bar staff even tho busy made time for an introduction and were also very friendly towards their respective customers. They have two front rooms for customers to also sit and relax by a turf and wood fire which was constantly been topped up I mite add. All in All I can't wait to go back to this rare beauty of a hotel set in the middle of killarney. Thank You To All Your Kind And Very Professional Staff. Quiet and comfortable room, near the train station and close to shopping and great pubs a few blocks away. Rates are very fair-priced.

Fantastic! Had a fun old Ireland feel. Large sitting rooms with tea/coffee and fireplace facing town of Killarney. Staff was above wonderful. Always checking on us and we came and went. They are family owned, family friendly. They gave great suggestions for dinner. The BEST (our favorite! ) sweater/scarf outlet shop across the street. Fun pub next door with Traditional Ireland music. Parking lot behind hotel was easy access. Breakfast was great. Loved the in town feel. Little grocery couple doors down. Bought Connemara stone jewelry at jewelry store (cheaper at Dublin airports shopping area before you leave). Lots of fun shopping and pubs. All was fun and great. Would return.

The service of the front desk was amazing. They truly go the extra mile to make sure you understand everything & get everything you need. The room & bathroom were clean. My only complaint is that the room we had was on the street, and they have no air conditioning or fans so you had to have the window open. I say that because since we were by the street you hear EVERYTHING outside. Sleep did not come to us until 2am, and the city is up and going by 8/9am. Besides that it was great!

Just like home. My favorite hotel in all of Ireland. Accommodations, craic, service. Name it. You feel like part of the family.

The good: The staff was wonderful, certainly as kind as they come. The breakfast was great, especially the French toast. The location of the hotel was top notch — right downtown in Killarney. The water pressure was good and the room was spacious. The not so good: The bed was below average — relatively springy and uncomfortable. The bedding blankets were aged and uncomfortable as well. The room was nicely decorated, but for the hole in the wall above the door. The parking was difficult, as the only free included parking required a 400m walk back to the hotel. Loading and unloading was tricky due to having to stop dead in the middle of a busy city street. There was no air conditioning, so we had to open the windows to cool the room. That would be fine, but for the fact that our room windows opened to the exhaust from over Murphy's Bar next door. The noise and smell weren't horrible, but not great either. We had a very nice time in Killarney, but I'm on the fence as to whether I'd recommend the hotel to anyone.

What a surprise! This place was very enjoyable. The staff is delightful and does everything to be has helpful as possible. The rooms were very nice and clean. The lobby and the rest of the hotel was very inviting. I would have liked to stay longer.
