We stayed for two nights last week and really enjoyed our stay. I was extremely apprehensive after reading some reviews online and nearly cancelled. But I’m glad we didn’t. We got a family room for two adults and two children. There was plenty of room, room was clean and beds were comfy. The food is lovely and pool is fab. The staff were really friendly and helpful. On the first night our dinner was extremely slow but the bar was lovely to sit in while waiting. We mentioned it to reception the following evening about the long wait between courses the previous night and he promised it wouldn’t happen again and it didn’t. I would defo return and highly recommend.

The staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is fantastic. Hope to visit again.

We just had 3 night family stay and it was gorgeous, relaxed atmosphere and food was very good, we did fota wildlife package.

My wife and I had dinner in the Oriel on Saturday, December 12th. It was a most pleasant experience. The food was delicious and the ambiance very relaxing and festive. The staff were most pleasant and helpful especially the duty manager, Sam from Casablanca. "Play in again Sam"

Stunning hotel with incredibly helpful staff. I've stayed here a few times and gotten married here. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The two people working there today were so. Polite and obliging. And the food was good too.

Staff where lovely but out side and the rooms are quite run down, milk was out of date by 4 months in the room and every morning for the 4 nights we stayed there was mistakes made with breakfast also couldn't have a drink as they didnt have any alco pops what so ever as I'm not a big drinker. Only thing I couldn't fault was the staff and pool.

Stayed for 3 nights for work purposes. Service at reception OK, but I have never seen poorer service in a bar or restaurant in my life! I was sitting for half an hour in the restaurant and wasn't even seen to for a menu, this was a quiet Wednesday night too.
The room, I'm not joking when I say it was the most unhygienic place I've ever been. There were stains which resembled faeces smudged into the carpets, the furniture was dirty, the tables sticky, the roof in the bathroom had mould and the toilet flush broken. One handle off window broken. There was also very questionable stains on the walls, many of which are simply painted over in the wrong colour. Cleaners didn't empty bins for 3 days nor did they vacuum the room. I made the bed myself on my return each day. The glasses and complimentary tea/coffee were not replaced for the duration of the stay. Norwere any of the sanitary items such as soaps, shower gels or shampoos.
Very disappointed in this 4 star hotel. Not what I was expecting for my trip to Cork.
I have stayed in cheaper B&Bs which were cleaner.
This 4 star hotel seems to only care about the wedding venue which is a pity. I don't recommend staying here to anyone.

Really bad experience from our stay in Oriel House. We stayed 3 nights and were tempted to leave after 2, only we were nearly a 4 hour drive from Cork and we were there for work reasons. The room was horrendous. I’ve never seen a room so filthy. The carpet had what looked like faeces in a number of areas. The walls were marked and battered. The window was missing a handle. The chairs were filthy and the toilet didn’t work. The ceiling had blue/green marks all over it, which looked like water stains or mould. We immediately complained, but all that happened was that the toilet was ‘fixed’. All they did was take the top compartment out of the toilet and left it hanging there. On the first night, we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant. We sat for 25 minutes and were never even given a menu. At this stage we walked out and got a gorgeous meal in Tradehouse Central a short walk down the road.
I’ve stayed in many hotels in Cork with work, and I would highly recommend booking any other hotel than this one.

Unpleasant staff, but fantastic place, work from 6 am till 8.30 ask for table, for something to eat and never came back.

Currently lying in bed on our final morning here at the Oriel House, wishing we didn't have to leave! The staff here are amazing, so friendly and courteous. The hotel itself is lovely and the pool is great, not just a boring rectangular pool. We had great fun in the different areas, floor in ladies changing room could do with replacing though!
We ate in the restaurant the first night and in the bar the next two nights, food was excellent. Breakfast was lovely, best French Toast I've had in ages
We visited Leahys Open Farm and Fota during our stay, both about a 30 minute drive from the hotel and would highly recommend both! Tickets to Fota were included in our package along with a picnic which was a lovely touch!
Only one negative and that was the noise in our room the night of a wedding as we were over the function room. This was dealt with swiftly the next day by reception and has certainly not impacted our stay! Overall an amazing stay, thoroughly enjoyed by all of usMy daughter wants to stay here next year as her communion treat so we will see you soon!

Everything from start to finish was top class staff super friendly made it a great 3 days with kids couldn’t recommend it enough, we will be back.

Stayed for two nights room was great swimming pool was fantastic food was delicious and staff where absolutely amazing what a place we will back and will use as a regular getaway thanks oriel house.

Staff very helpful and very friendly. Great place to meet friends. Great coffee served here. Lovely food served here and a great atmosphere here. There's an underground car park at the hotel in addition to the Overground car park.

Nice hotel, spent only 1 night there. Free parking, nice rooms, good gym and swimming pool. Check in/out was quick and easy.

Thanks for a lovely three days at your hotel. The reception team were friendly and helpful. The room was cosy and warm and clean. We found the service in the dining room, while friendly, very haphazard and slow both Sat and Sunday. It was a bit better on Monday. All over though we really enjoyed the experience.

I really like this place, the restaurant serves nice food and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is pretty big and very kid / baby friendly with a little baby pool area. The gym is great, it has a fair number of machines and it's rarely busy so you can get a proper workout. Tonnes of parking and easy to get to as well.

Had my wedding here on the 27/08/2018 dealt with elaine from start to finish and there was never once a problem she was absolutely fantastic the staff were very friendly would highly recommended anyone to go and check this place out if planning to get married as you will have no stress what so ever cause from the minute you meet with them you will no there a 100% committed in planning your big day with you. Thanks to Elaine and staff we had a absolutely fantastic day.

Genuinely friendly and welcoming staff. The picnic we got with our Fota tickets was unexpected and we were so, so impressed with it. It's little things like that that bring people back! Lovely area out the front for sitting of an evening with a drink. Nice food. The kids club is the best thing ever and my 5 year old adored the girls running it. Comfy bed, big room, could do with maybe a bit of a spruce up but still not enough to make me take away a star. Can't wait to come back!

Worst hotel. The room was old. Lamps didn’t work. The bed was hard. Couldn’t get the picture on the TV to work. Went to the pool at 845 to swim and wasn’t allowed in because they stop letting people in 45 minutes before it closes at 930. Oh and the ac would just shut off in the middle of the night so you wake up sweating.

Stayed here last night in the Ellis rooms. The room was absolutely stunning. The staff were so welcoming and could not do enough for us. We were going to a gig in the marquee and wer running out of time at dinner so the staff kept our dessert in the fridge and we were able to get wen we returned later that night. The food was amazing and the hotel manager Lauren really looked after us. Going back for a wedding in September. Cant wait.

Dj weddings there a lot. Loved it so much I had my own wedding there. Management took great care of us. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Very very nice hotel! Visited with a tour group and this was a luxury stop for us! Very nice room with an excellent breakfast. Very beautiful and clean rooms with Air Conditioning which was great for us! Highly recommend this gem!

Being a photographer, I am here quite regularly doing weddings and the GM Ronan and ALL his staff are most welcoming and friendly. As we live nearby so often pop in for evening meals, Sunday Lunch and have been bad for Family occasions. Its 5 star service every time.

Checkin and checkout both smooth, and overall service is friendly. Hotel busy with families/children. Room itself wholly disappointing and not like photos. My room was overlooking a roof and the windows of other rooms. Bed was two singles pushed together with uncomfortable pillows and sheets that came untucked showing a yellowing mattress. Room was equipped with a broken kettle, plastic-smelling shampoo/conditioner/shower gel, for two people there was only one beside lamp and one main room light. The bathroom floor was not clean, and the tap water undrinkable. The dinner was the highlight. Rapid room service and mostly fantastic food, justifying the 2 stars. The breakfast was OK, saving grace the friendly and polite service (and the made to order crepes).

Excellent hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and always went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Some areas need a little TLC, but they are so minor compared to the rest of the hotel they are hardly worth mentioning.

Clean and maintained rooms, good food and bar, quiet place at night so resting is not a problem.

Fab hotel. We stayed in the Tobin rooms. Really plush and well worth paying for the upgrade. Perfect for a relaxing weekend. Bar food was tasty but have to deduct a star because the bar was cold. Definitely looking forward to a return trip!

December just gone, My fiancé and I had our engagement party in the private function room called "The Henry Suite". We were both very much impressed with everything. Especially the service we were given by the event manager Meg she went above and beyond to accommodate us. The manager on the night Lauren was also very attentive checking in to make sure all was going smoothly, nothing was a problem. Our guests loved the Henry suite plenty of space and the great selection of finger food & Very friendly staff We will definitely be having our wedding reception here. Would definitely recommend!

Good facilities for a 4 stars hotel: — Very good SPA with swimming pool of 25m, jacuzzi, sauna… — Very big bedroom with shower and bath inside. Safe, iron, minibar, kettle, air dryer are included. — The breakfast offers good variety and can be added to your booking at reception for 10€ per night. — The restaurant of the hotel is also very good. The kitchen closes at 9:30pm which is very good for international travelers.

Had a great evening at the Oriel hotel it was a large group of us having our Christmas night out We had platter's of food and mulled wine and it was beautiful really tasty and good quality. The staff were very pleasant and we really enjoyed our night.

Had a fab stay untill this morning. On arrival we were told breakfast was included so we went and got it both mornings and this morning when checking out we were told we owed €70. The manger was very rude to us and one of the girls at reception. We would of not got anything if we had known this. He was so rude, he wanted to check cameras and call on his kitchen staff to see if we had gone for breakfast (which we said we had). He eventually admitted it was a staff mistake after causing a scene in reception with us. And just to add the breakfast was cold and badly presented.

If staying in cork you have to stay here! A beautiful hotel, luxurious rooms that you just won't want to leave! The food here is mouth watering and the breakfast filled me for the day. A lovely leisure centre for you to use as well. Last but not least the most friendliest and helpful staff I've ever come across.

I have stayed here a few times and loved the place. But recently it was my boyfriend's birthday and they had a birthday plate in the room and one after our dinner the staff was lovely and my boyfriend loved the surprise.

The room was OK, it wasn't really four stars in my opinion. The shower was scaled up so bad it sprayed water all over the floor. The windows were filthy the photo doesn't really do it justice showing how filthy they were, gross. The room was clean and Premier inn OK, if that makes sense. It was just nothing special. The pool was so packed with non hotel members it was difficult to even get changed, they didn't have swimming hats to lend non Irish guests so we had to buy one which is really naughty. Then the one they gave us was filthy and had blood or something on it from a previous user. They didn't even sell me a new one! The pool was rammed with children on lessons and from the local area and hotel guests were clearly just a disturbance to this facility that was trying to make its money by being a municipal pool rather than a spa resort for paying guests. Spend a few minutes here and left as the pool wasn't that clean and Neither were the changing rooms. Disappointing all over. If you want a four star Spa hotel stay somewhere else. If you want a three star hotel with access to a busy public swimming pool and want to pay over the odds then this is perfect for you. The Talbot in Wexford we stayed at the night before from the same chain was much much better.

Only reason im giving this 4 stars is the breakfast could of been better. The staft the decor the location of the hotel is perfect.

Myself and my husband stayed the wknd for our 1 yr wedding anniversary, we stayed in the ellis collection, I've never seen a room like it we didn't want to leave the room it was fab our stay from start to finish was so relaxing staff were so friendly and helpful and breakfast was lovely and the restaurant food was amazing, cudnt fault a thing already planning our next wknd to go back, so tks again highly recommend for couples romantic wknd away.

If you're staying here while visiting Cork you'll need a car but if you're planning on driving it's a great choice as its easy to get to, 10 minute drive from Cork city with lots of free parking. The room was lovely and felt quite luxurious, we also really enjoyed the bar food and the breakfast and the staff were all so nice. Would stay here again next time we're going to the area.

Every time I've been here it's been top notch, outstanding service and food at wedding, daily grub is always spot on and friendly staff. Keep it up.

Awesome room. Very clean and huge bathroom. Bed was nice and big, just wasn't super comfortable to sleep on. Other than that it was great!

I used to go to the gym here. Plus it's a great place for a great hearty breakfast. The restaurant is nice too.

I really loved the feel of this hotel. It was very nice and friendly. As a person that exercises on the road I have to give their spa (cardio, weights and pool) 5 stars, just keep an eye on the hours. The rooms had a great feel to them and the view of the countryside was unbelievable. The breakfast was top notch and the view of the hillside from the dining room was a great touch.

Came into a room that smelled horrible of cigarettes. The window was open and there was a fresh butt and match ON THE WINDOW SILL. Come on house keeping. Howd you miss that?! Went to let the front desk know since I didnt want to be charged for someone elses smoke smell since the room was nonsmoking. They couldnt move me to a different room. The floor next to the bed was sticky… I had to wear my flip flops in the room it was so yucky. No ac. TV was tiny. Bathroom drain was clogged so it filled up as I showered. I will NEVER come back to this hotel.

Stayed here on Friday 17th and Saturday 25th of June for weddings the nicest friendliest staff rooms were lovely on both occasions and the food gorgeous only fault I could point out is ye ran out of Heineken bottles on the 25th and this is the only thing I drink there was none in either the bar or function room but other than that outstanding stay on both occasions would highly recommend this hotel and the staff.

This place is close to where I live. Rang the hotel, they put me through to the leisure centre. Stayed on the line for 12 mins, hang up. Nobody picked up, then found direct number online and dialled again. Waited another 10 mins without an answer. Got in the car with gym bag as I was told before I could show up pay 15 euro and try the facilities before joining. At the leisure reception very grumpy lady asked me who told me I could just come in… (? ) So I told her I rang to inquire about it few weeks before. She said what the person looked like (Hello? I rang in). I loved the restaurant and spa in the past. Gym seems small, but best in the area and pool is not very clean I found from previous uses (when I used spa). Flip-flops are a must. My manager stayed here and they had wi fi outage for 24 hours. She was super annoyed as she need to do extra work while traveling, Overall I hear at work that executives do not want to stay here and go for other options closed to city centre in terms of accommodation and services at hotel.

Has really improved in the last two or three years. Very good now. Food, cleanliness, staff and facilities all great. Highly recommend it.

Excellent hotel. Staff are excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were spacious and very clean. We have never attended a wedding reception with such good service and obliging staff. If we return to Ireland we will be booking the Oriel Hotel. Thank You.

Myself and my partner stayed in the hotel from the 26th of June till 28th of June and I have to say we both would never stay in that hotel again. The only part that I could possibly say was 4 stars was the restaurant. I found the staff in the hotel rude and abrupt and so unhelpful our room wasn't cleaned when we returned from our day out the greeting I got in the spa when I when in for a treatment put me on edge the therapist was so ignorant. We went to the bar to have a drink and the guy behind the bar had a problem that I wanted to pay by Visa card. How the hotel is 4 stars o's beyond me the noise in it every night too was appalling I was so disappointed with the whole experience and really ruined our break away.

After visiting this hotel I had a very bad case of food poisoning. Would not recommend going there any time soon.
