Great place to stay… pretty unique and different. Great host too.

This is really a nice place to stay at. We've spent two nights there. The house doesn't appear very special from the outside, which is by far not a bad thing. However it has a nice little garden in the front, which makes it very nice to spent time on the veranda. One day we came home from a trip and got there tea and cake, cookies and fruits served for tea time. Then you have a great view at the bay. This view can also be enjoyed from the sitting room upstairs, that is in a nice condition and good place to read some books. And not only this room is beautiful, the others are, as you can see in the pictures, too. Fitted in a classic style and with modern bathrooms it's a pleasue to stay. The breakfast is very good and very fresh. I can't find a point where you could critize it. So all in all I can really recommend this place, and so does the rest of my family. Lovely place with really friendly owners!

Setting is superb, Clare and her brother Vincent live in grandparent's home where they lived as children. The French copper Marans chickens provide eggs for breakfast and a 1/2 dozen Corgis patrol the paddock. Fine, large breakfast comes off the stove into a lovely dining area. View SE toward Hook Head and short drive to various ruins or walled gardens and maze make this a wonderful Ancient East base. Treat yourself to this coastal gem. Short ferry ride and drive brings you to Waterford in less than an hour.

Brilliant stay. Clare was terrific. Room comfy and beautifully decorated. Breakfast enormous.

Very pleasant stay. Proprietor very cordial and helpful with dining suggestions. Our room was attractive, quaint and large. Very comfortable. The only negative was the unreliable Wi-Fi connection. With international cellular data rates pricey, this was a concern. But perhaps to stay at Marshmere should require that one does without internet. Al in all, an enjoyable stay. I would definitely return.

Claire is quite simply the best hostess. The rooms are individually quaint and timeless and breakfast is amazing. The black pudding is wonderful.

Ask for the top floor room (Margret in Disguise). Beautiful view. Absolutely charming. We showed up late one evening with no reservations and the inn keeper was welcoming and kind.

Great spot, wonderful accommodation and a warm welcome — also home to the best terrace to sit and watch the sunrise over Arthurstown Harbour.

Our stay at Marshmere Lodge was simply wonderful. The house is a treasure trove of antiques and family memorabilia. The hosts worked very hard to make our too short stay memorable and special. I'm already planning my next stay, which will be much longer.

Very nice and cosy b&b. The owner really took care of us. She demanded 43 € from us (p. P. ) instead of 35 € (average price for b&bs in ireland), but we had a great breakfast and nice coffee & tea, so it was okay for us.
